Skeletons with standards just know how to serenade w/ songs, dating sims, and spaghetti. Superb! This date was always 10/10, but you made it 1000/10! Darby just gets that Papyrus voice just right, and it's probably been said before but he's perfect for him! Also the narrator/Chara can have some snarky moments which I find fun to listen to too. I'm rlly glad I can hear the characters and see the colored sprites along w/ them. You guys really went all out just for this part, kudos! (^^)b

TheAdvertisement no, while the concept is practically the same the game considers it just hanging out, for example the date meter is renamed to a friendship meter

Retro Core Eeeven though Papyrus specifically calls it a date, even though the code calls it a friendship meter in-game it’s called “Date Power”, the soundtracks that play during it are called Dating Start! Dating Tense! and Dating Fight!, after the battle Papyrus says “Wowie! We haven’t even had out first date and I’m already in the friendzone!” and at the end of the date Papyrus confesses he doesn’t have the same affections for you. Though the game considers it “hanging out”, that is only because hanging out is one of the factors in doing a True Pacifist Route. The whole concept is a funny unserious date. Though it’s purely for comedy, Papyrus considers it a date, and that’s all that really matters.

I'd like to stress that flirting with Papyrus in his boss fight is 100% optional, and you, the player character, are a small child. Y'all could easily just platonically hang out with him, and still get the True Pacifist ending. And some of y'all are still choosing to make Frisk, a prepubescent child, date Papyrus, a full-grown man-child. Now, Papyrus is too innocent to really know what a "date" even is. The player, however, has no such excuse.
