Amy Is it bad that I like the genocide route? Not because I have to slaughter everyone I care about, but because of the fact that it exists. It really gives you this empty, deep, depressing feeling and it gives the game a whole nother atmosphere. That dark and depressing feeling you feel in your chest only gets worse the deeper you go onto this route. Without the Genocide route, undertale wouldn't be what it is.

I think it’s neat that the screen just stays black. I know it’s supposed to be that way, but in a screen when it turns black, you can see yourself. I think of this as a reminder that in Genocide, you cause this. No one else is to blame except you. I think I may just looking too deep into this though. I mean, it’s just a black screen.

And that is exactly what the ending of a genocide run feels in game and should feel in any adaptation. Aw man. Daniel is heartbreaking as Asgore like always. His voice just sounds so warm and it's at such odds with how this package has been going. The awkwardness of his "howdy!" and the warmth in spite of his confusion in "what kind of monster are you?" just breaks my heart. Then he sounds so gentle trying to talk us down, and his gasp of pain and the betrayal in his voice in the end is so hard. The sound of Flowey's attack seems so much more sinister here than in the game. And then Xander's Flowey comes in and it is SUCH a treat to hear him so scared and off his game. The sheer desperation in "it was all a trick, see?" and how "I can be useful to you!" is building to utter panic is perfect. The thing that gets me most is Atwas's line though, I got chills, my stomach twisted. And then those cries of pain and how utterly gross and horrifying the whole thing sounds and ugh. It's so well done. The actual song is BEAUTIFUL. The chorus here sounds like a Gregorian choir, more like a dirge than it ever has. There's no crazy turns of phrase to the lyrics, no more energy and fight, not even really a tragedy anymore. It's just empty as a tomb and hauntingly beautiful. "Now in death, void of breath we drown." is my favorite lyric, it's BEAUTIFUL, though the "twisted games" lyric is also a great reference to the actual context. The loneliness in "but nobody came" is so nice and "no one saved us" only seems like a final bitter reminder of what could have been. "Human, monster, which one is to blame?" is so great because it's almost like the chorus itself seems confused-- the actions here are the player/viewers, not really Frisk's or the monsters. I love how the credits are abruptly brushed away and GOD the effects on the fallen child's voice are genuinely chilling, FAR scarier than they were in the game. The fact that they are now the fallen child, not Chara, is such a great touch. I love that it's not Eissibee voicing them, it makes them truly feel seperate and other. I think that's Alex voicing them? Which is a great touch. I love how "greetings" doesn't even sound like a real word, it feels genuinely demonic. The breath after "why was I brought back to life?" and how ACCUSATORY the "you" is. I adore how the speech has been adjusted to reflect the genocide package, "we sang about it, we celebrated their deaths" is a beautifully written line and it feels so true to the original speech, and I adore what a great middle finger the list of stats and replays and views is. The jump scare face is GENUINELY CHILLING which is surprising because it didn't get me watching a genocide playthrough. Afterwards, with the darkness and silence, I felt genuinely disturbed. It was a good choice to put those ten minutes of silence in there, another middle finger of sorts, though my favorite part? I doubt many people will actually sit through the ten minutes, they'll probably just fast forward to when the fallen child returns. But when they do? They still don't get what they want. The choice has been made. This is it. We can't go back. There is no heroic Asgore to save things in the end, there's not gonna be a freaking soulless pacifist musical. I love the evil grin that's implied with "interesting" and I love that you were able to fit in the "perverted sentimentality" line. I love how "you want to go back to the world you destroyed", how destroyed is barked out. The finality of "you made your choice long ago." and then it just ends. So here we are at the end of the Genocide package, and it feels so bitter. UTM ends on such a wonderful, uplifting note, I came away feeling great about myself and great about life, just as I did with the original game. And then I watched an LP of the geno route, and well... I came away feeling how I do now. It's a beautiful tragedy, and it's a story worth telling. Some of the stuff that comes out of the Geno route is genuinely beautiful art and I feel like without the knowledge of it and what happens in it, Undertale is missing something. But the knowledge of what it ruins, that it's a PERMENANT ruin, it makes it a great story but it genuinely hurts to think about. Of course, fandom perverted it. The Geno run has progressively become OMG YAY EDGELORD TIME and MORE OF MY HUSBANDO SANS and that's so frustrating. This package gives the route its power back and is some of the best work you all have ever done. It truly captures everything. The feeling that the game itself is saying "why are you doing this? You got your happy ending, so why?" The way it pointedly puts the death of your friends (and the UT characters truly feel like your friends) in your hands, the way the sound effects you've added and the performances here give the deaths meaning and weight and tragedy once more. The sheer wrath Megalovania should deliver. And then here at the end, dying out not with a bang but a whimper... or a dirge, in this case. As Katreal already mentioned, this feels like such a bitter, final stamp on Undertale for you guys. It makes me really sad. As much as I love Undertale, all fandom stuff fades eventually, and as excited as I am for new things, this feels like the end of an era, and it breaks my heart that the end feels so empty here. But well. That's what we wanted, huh? It was worth it because it's a well-executed tragedy, and I love tragedies. But I think I'm gonna go relisten to UTM and probably read some very fluffy fanfiction now.

Songs of Pacifist route filled me with happiness, joy and determination. Especially this songs like Hopes and Dreams, Bring it in, guys and more. When I heard songs from Genocide package, I had other feelings like compassion, sorrow, anger. You guys did very good job. Thank you. Now, what can I say about this song: Wow, that was really scary. Now look, As painful as the genocide route is, I think it was completely necessary and showed a true meaning about Undertale. In the pacifist route it shows that your fate is never set in stone, and that you can always be good. But....when you reset, something changed in you. You got bored of the same old usual game, so you decided: “Let’s kill EVERY monster i come across” And where did that lead you? Onto the path of pain and never ending regret. You see, if you murder Toriel, and then reset: Flowey will haunt you by reminding you what you did. But in a normal genocide route Sans will be the one to remind you of what you did. Toby purposely put these things i believe in order to show the importance that your actions have consequences. Not only this but, the genocide route perfectly displays the guilt you SHOULD carry around you. For instance, when you kill everyone in the Ruins and the song Ruined plays, one of the lines says “Why didn’t they decide to spare” and that line continued to haunt me as I watched every song in the genocide package. Why didn’t they decide to spare when they had the option, it was only a click of a button. To top this all off, when you talk with Chara and the screen is black, it’s purposely showing your reflection to show that you caused this hell. Also, if you wait until nearly the very end of the video you will hear Chara talk by saying: “You are racked with a perverted sentamintality to kill” and you’ll also hear them say “You believe you are above consequences” and these lines too: “It was you who pushed this world to its end” you see, that line in of itself shows you that you’re the true evil, not chara. You see, MANY people try to blame the genocide route on Chara after they see the ending “But nobody came” But they are dead wrong, as Chara literally is the one that gives you dialogue, the lines “You feel your sins crawling on your back” is Chara reminding you what you’ve done. Chara then goes insane after witnessing her whole entire family killed in less than a day, and erases the world. To top it all off, if you try and go back and attempt the true pacifist ending: You will be reminded by Sans, and at the end of the game there will be a picture with all the main characters heads crossed off. What does this mean? This doesn’t mean that Chara specifically killed all of them, it’s just reminding you that you killed a l l of them. The Genocide Route also shows other crucial aspects: It shows how everyone ain’t just the character their first revealed as in the pacifist route. Toriel: Toriel isn’t an overly obsessive mother who just wants some company in the ruins. She’s actually a mother that cared and loved you, and she feels that if you leave, you will die. Now she doesn’t know about the power of save and reset but anyways, she feels so betrayed by you killing her that she doesn’t even call you my child anymore, she just calls you “The Fallen Child” or “Child of Man” This should be evident enough that you are no longer Toriel’s sweetheart, and she even doubts that you’re going to spare any other monsters. Papyrus: The genocide route reveals Papyrus isn’t some narcissistic and energetic skeleton. He’s actually a sweet and nice guy who just wants you to change and be the good guy. But....you kill him, and even in Papyrus’ last moments he STILL believes in you. This just makes me sick knowing that his head is crunched, MOTI made a perfect crunch sound for Papyrus’ head that made me feel even more guilty. Pap is just too innocent, and that caused his demise from you Undyne: Undyne is no longer the hot head royal guard who wants every child of man dead, she’s actually a true hero that wants the best for the people of the underground. She actually sacrifices her life for Monster Kid, but is so determined that she will defeat you, or that the monsters will win. Alphys: Alphys is no longer the stay inside introvert, she’s an actual hero. In Evacuate she not once studders, she’s a legitimate hero in the moment as opposed to songs like “Let’s Dating Nerd” or “Bring it In!” Mettaton NEO: Mettaton isn’t the just a fame hungering robot, Mettaton is actually someone that’s ready to give his life for the monsters. Even in his human eradication form, he doesn’t defeat you. Why? Because you’re not a human. Your just a killing machine. (fun fact mettaton in his non neo form is an indestructible robot, it’d make him a coward not to change into his neo form) Flowey: You see, Flowey in both routes are revealed as a different in both routes so there isn’t a real need for an explanation Sans: Sans unlike my first run, he wasn’t just some lazy bones (ahahhahaa) he’s actually someone who’s willing to save the world at all costs. He’s willing to do anything because he’s the last line of defense in the underground, because he knows Asgore is preoccupied with the flower. So he buys as much time as he can to allow Asgore to absorbs the human souls and recruit Flowey into the fight. All in all, MOTI you did an amazing job with the genocide route, all the notes and lyrics had their impact in their own special ways Well, this is the end Happy Murdering, Sickos.

Honestly, Genocide is hypocritical it's ok for monsters to kill you but if you kill a monster even by accident you still get called out for it. You as the player are playing as a child who is constantly being told that these monsters want to capture, kill you, and take your soul so that they can break the barrier and kill all of humanity. Just because Chara didn't cause the genocide run doesn't make them any less evil, they just called themselves the demon that comes when you call it's name, from where I come from it is known humans are complex as they are a combination of right and wrong while we are not above consequences we however also deserve forgiveness, redemption, and sometimes a new start . However, Demons are pure evil , they hate humanity, love leading, influnencing, and watching them become astray, and want to destroy tem, they constantly make someone feel guilty even if it is for the smallest mistake.

LemonLight also took a different approach to Chara. Chara isn't a demon, but just an entity to chastise you at the end. Frisk and Chara are both implied to be forced to watch the player control Frisk in the game. MotI meanwhile has Chara that has disregarded any sense of mortality, not there to be angry but congratulate you at the end, then gets frustrated you suddenly have cold feet and takes over. Was Chara always this way or is this a result of you playing? Very close to their cannon existence, and thus doesn't have much wiggle room to allow a redemption. And ya know. A good middle finger to people who harassed MotI and the entire cast for months that UTM wasn't enough because there wasn't a fight against the weakest enemy in it

Honestly as much as I like undertale, I feel disappointed as a fan to see people think they are entitled to demand something from talented individuals who are doing a project for fun. The fact they did a genocide route(an alternate ending that isn't cannon story wise) is good enough. People that aren't satisfied can you ask yourself this: Would you do what they did after receiving death threats, countless complaints and badgering and people acting like a 40 song musical(which takes a lot of time, money and effort; not to mention running things by the creator who is on a busy schedule; annnd not to mention all the time it takes to achieve the sound you wanted) wasn't good enough because it didn't include songs from a alternate ending that punishes you for even getting it(because *spoilers* every other ending will be tainted with that alternate ending unless you wipe game specific files*/end spoilers*) which not everyone wants because the message it conveys. tl;dr stop being ungrateful and appreciate the time and effort it takes to make a musical and enjoy this free side musical that we totally didn't deserve

I think it's funny every time a musical project says something like 'We won't be doing the genocide route'. Oh, sure. You're making a project based on the popular songs in the game, and you're going to ignore the *best* songs in the game. That's not going to result in fan backlash at all! The fan backlash was too extreme because Undertale fandom is horrible, but if they didn't expect to get this kind of response when making a musical that omits the best songs and then making multiple songs mocking popular fandom AUs, I'm confused why they decided to set out on such an undertaking about a game they don't know the source or fandom of very well. It doesn't change that the fandom is incredibly toxic, but I don't see the point in complaining about the toxicity when you signed up for it *knowing* this is how the fandom is. Also all routes are canon. Even if Deltarune has something that makes TP the actual path taken (I don't know, I don't care enough to look), all that means is DR follows specifically the timeline of TP. In my playthrough, Genocide is the true canon ending, because I purposefully chose for it to be.

MOTI, I have to say that you and everyone else who worked on these videos have out done yourselves with this one, with this being a 'less is more' type of video. The fact that you made the deaths of Asgore and Flowey more gruesome than in the game was more bone chilling than ever before. The 'Fallen Child's' voice actor was fantastic. The 15+ minutes of silence really hit the nail on the head. The silence made the sins return more and more with ever passing second. But I think the LV that chara gains takes over and what causes them to kill asgore and flowy. In the pacifist chara is the narrator in the genocide they do something that is thought to be evil. But that is just a theory. Just like almost every comment here. We have no proof on wether chara is evil or not unless Toby fox says so. So until then we just have to keep Theorizing. When chara mentioned the views and subscribers I clenched my heart of how spooked I was. A huge blame on the viewers was bone chilling, it made the atmosphere really sink in. That scream from Chara's jumpscare is going to haunt my nightmares for literally the rest of my life, holy CRAP. First: everyone who played characters in the first three minutes, your performance was so good and sad I needed to cry. Second: I was a little confused why Chara was voiced differently, but then it was the line "I am the demon that comes when you call its name" and I realized that this wasn't Chara at all, it was some sort of vile horrible creature extracted from a piece of what Chara's soul used to be. And that's EXTREMELY creepy. Third: the chorus was so empty and lifeless that it was emotional, and I know that that makes no sense out of context but I love it. Four: this sort of stands for everything Genocide Run is meant to teach you. You are NOT above consequences. Just because these characters aren't real like you doesn't make you entitled to kill them, because in the end... their absence still has a big effect on the world. You do not get to do what you want because 'it can all be reset'. That's what this game tries to teach you... Your actions can never, ever, be truly erased. If you pull off the actions of a heartless monster, you ARE one. The deaths are in YOUR HANDS, not Chara's or anyone else's. This video was so mortifying and left me feeling so horribly dirty, guilty, and unclean that I have to go watch videos from the original musical to feel good about myself and life again. And I'VE NEVER EVEN DONE A GENOCIDE RUN. You're making me feel guilty about something I didn't even do. That's real disturbing and I need to go listen to some nice stuff and read fluff now or I'll actually have nightmares when I sleep tonight.

At the end of this dramatic journey, i want to order all those songs in order of preference: 1) Star - An anguished and fascinating song dedicated to Chara and the development of her personality. 2) Power of NEO - An amazing song that allows a great big tribute to Mettaton. 3) DeTermination - Stuttering melody in which we look at the last words of the good Toriel. 4) Papyrus believe in you - The sadest but most sincere song dedicated to Papyrus. 5) Megavolania - A decisive song, the right closure for Sans' character. 6) Evacuate - Frisk's terror also manifests itself among other monsters. A nice dramatic version of "CORE". 7) Ruined - The beginning of all. When the genocide package started, nothing was the same. 8) Battle against a true hero - I don't hate this version but I did not like how the text adapted to the rhythm of the song. 9) But Nobody came - The most faithful part of the game but also the one where there is no more room for music. This is the first Track you guys have done that legitimately frightened me. I went to bed last night with chills. Sure, songs like His Theme and DeTermination made me cry, and songs like Evacuate and Papyrus Believes in You were deeply unsettling. But this video...wow. Not only are you calling out the Genocide demanders, but virtually everyone who ever took part in this package or enjoyed it. Essentially, you put the viewer through the same guilt and emotional upheaval that the actual game does if you choose that path. That...is...amazing. The way you "killed" the chorus by giving their names the death animation...brutal. Hearing Atwas die hurt me more than I thought it would, even though I actually suspected that she might turn up. Daniel and Xander's performances were top notch as always. Actually including the ten minute wait was a clever touch too. But most importantly... . WHO THE HELL VOICED THE FALLEN CHILD? THATS GOING TO GIVE ME NIGHTMARES! ((But I like how you didn't refer to them as Chara. #TeamPassiveChara)) I was wrong about how Megalovania felt like a conclusion to this project. THIS feels like a conclusion to everything. I was so surprised to hear a song based on "But Nobody Came" I felt certain that you wouldn't adapt this track as it's little more than a dull drone. But you made it work so damn well. You gave the Underground a funeral march. And it was chilling. It made us feel empty. We don't even get the choice to sell our soul this time. This is the end. As morbid as it is...you guys have done fantastic work. I came for Undertale, when I first subscribed. I'm staying for Man on The Internet. I've never even played Chrono Trigger, but I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Agree with everything you said, except one thing. The Fallen doesn't offer the choice not because it's the end, *but because you can't sell them your soul twice. 'You made your choice long ago' said it all.* (That actually happens, at least according to the wiki. They never offer you that choice again if you do Genocide twice or more, instead choosing to chat with you before asking if you're done with your fun yet and ready to move on with them yet. Of course, I never did even 1 genocide run, so I can't say anything else about it, except that apparently they start getting bored around the fifth time and ask if you can do something different next time.)

I like this ending to the package,especially when you wait for ten minutes,because your tempted to skip the time out of BOREDOM. Curiosity caused you to do genocide, and Toby executes this reasoning flawlessly with the wait time. Out of BOREDOM you killed to see something new. Out if CURIOSITY you wanted to see where this lead. And it lead here. So why aren't you happy? Why aren't you SATISFIED? When Atwas took over with Flowey’s lines, I literally flinched. I was not expecting that AT ALL. And the Chara section was amazing. I never really felt at fault when I heard dubs of this section- I’ve never played genocide. But this made me feel guilty. Because I caused this. Because I wanted these songs so bad, even if I wasn’t a harasser. I waited through the entire 10 minutes on the stream, because you did such a great job that I felt like I deserved to wait. Like that was my punishment. This is such a fitting end, it’s amazing. Thank you all for everything you do, and stay determined as you continue on to everything you do next. You guys are the best.
