I just realized something: this song implies that Alphys remembers the past timelines. In the last line of the song, Alphys says, "I remember you, my friend." While this could be interpreted as her saying goodbye to Mettaton, she said a few lines ago that she "realize[d] your [Frisk's] power" and mentioned Determination earlier in the song. Alphys has studied human souls and Determination for her entire career as the Royal Scientist, and it's not out of the question that she's aware of its ability to reset time. With this context in mind, I believe Alphys was saying that she remembered Frisk being her friend in the Pacifist timeline.

This might make sense because she said something that suggests she injected an untold amount of determination into herself.

I would also like to point out that, during either this or her final fight, she has access to what looks like Sans' skull blasters, and Sans is the only other one who either secretly or openly admits to being able to see and remember other timelines, including the Pacifist one. And, I vaaaaaugly remember hearing or seeing that in his room was schematics/competent writings of quantum physics, the only thing that could vaguely permit time travel. So, it could be possible that, with Sans' secret help, Alphys too is a Time Keeper; a guardian of the timelines. However, if she was aware of what the Genocide timeline held, she would've actively tried to murder Chara/protagonist when she was far weaker, and keep her at bay until the challenge is learned and passed, so she is only aware of what is possible AFTER she injected the lethal dosage of DETERMINATION in herself

Can I just take a moment to appreciate the lyrics: "I remember you my friend." It seems that Alphys is talking to Mettaton, and indeed, she probably is. But there is someone else in the room. I can't even begin to describe how much fun I had being a part of all of this, The whole experience was an absolute blast and I'm so thankful I got to spend so much time with so many talented people! Oh My God. This is amazing. The originality, the emotion, the sheer amount of effort that must've been put into this! THIS is what I subscribed for. I have to admit, I haven't been following this from the start, but from what I've seen you've all outdone yourselves. First of all, this is packed with creativity. A completely new turn of events, that in my opinion adds more depth to the story, and certainly gives mettaton a chance to actually do something! Also, an ENTIRELY ORIGINAL SONG! (Which was amazing) And the artist is extremely talented too. Perfectly depicts how alphys doesn't want to do this, and deep down she knows she can't win, while also showing mettatons confidence! I hate to repeat myself, but to everyone who worked on it, you are all living legends. (Also I wrote a comment pretty much like this but accidently spammed back space too much which somehow closed the page and deleted it. :( Rewrote a new and better one though because this clearly deserves it!)

That was absolutely amazing. Like, every part of this song was just perfect. I think it's one of my favourite songs from your musical. Alphys and Mettaton's duet was fantastic. Mettaton's voice is as great as always but Alphys's... I just adore her voice. It's so different from other voices people gave her. I could clearly hear all of her emotions: her fear, pain, sadness... That part when Alphys said "I should've killed you" hit me so much. I really like the music too! Oh and I love the art soooo much. oH BOY I CAN'T REALLY DESCRIBE HOW GREAT THIS WAS, BUT I WILL TRY. One is definitely the concept. I love the idea of Mettaton and Alphys fighting together, as the last hope of the monsters. But the high points are the art, music, and the singing. I can only hope to achieve the level of greatness that Dyra is at one day. And the SINGING. My god, I can feel the emotion of Jessica and Quizzerd. I give this 100/5.

Also, J, I noticed a few lyrical overlaps from UTM (suddenly things went wrong, I feel a fire deep inside, on high sits our king), and I don't know if that was intentional, but I love that too. HOLY SHIZZLE, BOY WAS THIS WORTH ALL THE HYPE!!! :D Let me just start out by saying that, like Queen Creeps, this has now officially become my favorite song in the soundtrack (b^u^)b The lyrics were SO fitting, and while I do feel most of J's lyrics fit well, I felt these ones were exceptionally spot on for what was occurring!!! And I love the instrumental as well!!! It was just so powerful, and (while I loath to use this word) epic! I honesty can't find any other way to describe it other than those two words, except maybe INCREDIBLE!!! I like to imagine that at the very last moment, Frisk hesitated. After Alphys gave her last words and referred to us as “my friend” Frisk paused for the slightest of moments after being directly addressed with such sincerity and memory, a clear nod to their past friendship in the previous pacifist timeline. Only for the player to put Frisk back in their place as it were, delivering the final blow. Ik this probably isn’t what would’ve happened but I think it could be a really emotional and conclusive way to end Alphys’ story in this timeline.

OMG I JUST REALIZED I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE DEATH OF BOTH METTATON AND ALPHYS BUT ONLY METTATON DISAPPEARED FROM THE END CARD SO THAT MEANS THAT MEANS *starts frantically cheering on Alphys and humming "Alphys takes action"* Moving on from my slowness and stupidity, this was really great. The art is so amazing and the dynamic captured between Mettaton and Alphys is fantastic. It's also extremely sad, because this dynamic is cut short so quickly and Alphys is left all alone. The lyrics were amazing to me and the Asgore motif is such a great throwback. The "I remember you, my friend" line is also amazing because I feel like it can be taken one of two ways: Alphys saying a final farewell to Mettaton or Alphys saying goodbye to the person the human once was. Either way it's great. Really great, top notch.
