Fallen down isn’t just a song, it also tells a story. The story goes like this: Once there was a place. It wasn’t just any place. It was a special place, different for everyone. The place stored joy, laughter, tears, anger, and all of it. You could feel trapped in there. Or safe. Or alone. There would be times that you wanted to go away and never return, and never return to the world, either. The place would be small. It could be big. Sometimes it wasn’t much. Even so, the place remained itself. And itself forever. The place was called Home. The nostalgic vibes this song gives is just overwhelming.

I have never played Undertale. Yeah, I bought the game in 2020 Yeah I met Flowey Yeah I was saved by Toriel Yeah I ran into the Bone Bros. Yeah I ran away from Undyne, Yeah I ran away from Undyne again, Yeah I listened to Alphys geek out Yeah I battled the king Yeah I gave that little shit Flowey his just desserts by sparing him Yeah I hugged Asriel But... I already knew all of that happened. Undertale had been my favorite game for years. I watched every video, I loved every character. So I knew every nook and cranny before I even got to them. Suddenly all of these quirky, fun, original characters were just... hollow. The game felt hollow to me. I was more than just spoiled to the story, I had been spoiled, rotted, and turned into mulch. This music reminds me of that hollowness. I, and I'm sure hundreds of others, just *can't* have that "UNDERTALE" feeling because we've sapped it away with our own impatientness. So yeah. I've played the game. But not *Undertale.*

I brought her flowers. It was our third date, and even though I didn't want to rush things, I just knew she was the one. Every time I saw her, it was like the Sun beamed stronger. Every time she spoke, all other sounds on Earth went quiet. Every time she smiled, it felt like the world slowed down to take a picture. She had told me months ago which flower was her favorite, and I would always remember it, so when I showed up with a bouquet, her smile was bigger than ever, and seeing that, I nearly melted on the spot. We went to a cafe, as it was still morning. We talked and talked for hours. Time wasn't important, for if I could, I'd spend eternity alongside her. Time went on, and we kept going to the same place. We became regulars there, and didn't even have to order anymore, because the staff already knew what we'd want and I knew secretly, they were cheering us on. I brought her flowers. This time, it was a special day, the day she said yes. I was euphoric and so was the people in the cafe, who always rooted for us. I can still remember the way her beautiful green eyes were shining and gleaming with happy tears like precious emeralds. Our wedding was in the woods, because she was a nature lover. Green was her color. So much so that everytime we weren't together and I saw green, I'd think of her. Green was hers, and only hers. We had three kids. A boy and two girls. They took after their beautiful mother. Taking in her beautiful green eyes, and her beautiful smile. Their pretty little faces reminded me each day that love was the best thing that ever happened to me, who once didn't believe in it. As they grew older, so did we. They were full of energy, going to college, getting to know people. They were full of life. But we, we were tired. We were walking slower, doing stuff in our own time. I was sitting with her on her hospital bed. Never having left her side. She knew she was going to be leaving first and I knew it too. Every time id see her, pain enveloped my body. But she was always sharp. She knew how much I loved her and how much pain it was bringing me seeing her like this. The Day came. The Final Day. It was just me and her. She held my hand and i held hers as we just stared at each other for hours. She then told me how much she loved me and how she was so lucky to have met such a beautiful man. I replied back in the same words. Then. She took her final breathe, and it broke me. The thought that I would never see that beaming smile again, never listen to her singing her favorite songs, or never again look at those perfect green eyes. That alone was enough for me to want to go meet her. Then, my time came as well. But I wasn’t scared. I knew my children were going to take care of themselves. So I died peacefully. Not knowing if there was indeed an afterlife I went in pride. I found myself in a field. A beautiful field. There were blossom trees everywhere. Beautiful lakes and mountains. The sun was setting. I was appalled at the beautiful landscape. Until I heard a beautiful soft familiar voice from behind me. “Darling?” The beautiful voice said. I turned around to see. My beautiful wife. In a beautiful dress. Smiling at me with that wonderful smile, and beautiful emerald green eyes, that cute short pink hair of hers flowing with the gentle breeze. She pounced on me as we both fell and rolled down the hill hugging each other tightly giggling and smiling as we stare into each others eyes. We look up. To find ourselves. In a beautiful. Flower field. I never forgot. I picked up a flower and put it in her hair. She smiled that beautiful smile again. I never forgot. How much she loved flowers.

what really makes this a masterpiece of undertale ost and arguably the best other than hopes and dreams, is that this is the first ever soundtrack we hear in the game, its when we start the game we hear it and it would sound like some beginner music just to start the game, but when we finish the game and see all it has to offer, you come back to this and it feels like there's nothing left for you, just the viewing of the times you had, from the beginning, to the end.

I love how the context can change the vibe of the song entirely, In the original game, it’s a comforting happy vibe. If you put it over a liminal space, it starts to give a vibe of, “Comforting…but something’s wrong…” Etc etc. I love how this song can be interpreted in any way, that just makes it better imo.

this game, undertale, is so important to me it's almost embarrassing. Years have passed and it still makes me feel so many emotions. The characters, the story, everything is so dear to me, but the soundtrack never fails to move my very soul. It just takes me back to the time this game came out, a time when I was still just a kid, a child, living a simple life yet having so many fears. This game, this song, brings so much comfort to me, but at the same time it makes my chest feel tight and kinda sad.
