One thing I actually really like about the Genocide route in Yellow is that it feels a lot more motivated than in Undertale it's an understandable motive that Clover would hate and want to kill the monsters who murdered those children, misguided considering most of the monsters had nothing to do with it but understandable all the same, and at the end Clover doesn't do anything cartoonishly evil like destroy the world they just free the souls of the dead children and take them to freedom. It's a depressing route but it's not a surprising response to a nation condoning the murder of children.

I actually like the undertale genocide because it feels akin to a social experiment. In the genocide route, I believe it's made clear that these are your actions, not Frisks, so you're the one going out of your way to kill all the monsters. Killing people who have no effect on your life, but to see how the narrative changes. Similar to how some irl people murder, just to see how it might change things. Genocide is notoriously hard and time wasting because you have to grind out the death of every monster in every area, you're going out of your way to kill them. So, the ending is almost like a punishment for your sins. There is no cool ending, no big reward for your murder, there's just nothing. It's poetic in a way I feel.

Damn, you're actually intended to do Pacifist, Genocide, & THEN Neutral. Undertale Yellow was made with the idea that you'd already have played Undertale (obviously) so you would know the most impactful routes are true pacifist & Genocide, & just out of curiosity play the Neutral route. The way Flowey's fight in Neutral works is incredibly impactful when doing Neutral last, since Flowey only played a very minor role in the other two routes.
