Okay since everyone seems to be struggling with this fight, here's a tip: Keeping trying to beat her until you feel like you're going to do the genocide route irl, take a break like watch a movie, then come back. You'll have the experience of fighting her before without being clouded by anger and frustration. Works for every game too.

My advice for this fight: for the first half don't worry too much about taking hits, just avoid getting hit by the red beams or getting stunned. She doesn't do that much damage for it to be a problem to heal back, however the max hp reduction is what builds up over time. Which makes healing items obsolete. For the 2nd half, avoid touching the sides of the playfield, it blinks red and will also reduce max hp.

Ceroba’s cool and all and once I figured out where to go for the attacks she wasn’t awful but I do hope they iron fights like hers out, a lot of time in the game it feels like they’ll just throw some bullshit move out and demand you already be prepared for it positioning wise, unless you want to be hit. You can definitely dodge a lot of these attacks but they don’t feel very well thought out unlike some objectively harder bullet hells like what you’d see in some of the Touhou games.

i understand this take of "you already have to be prepared to even dodge" but i believe this fight was designed to be retried multiple times, not easily beatable first try. most touhou bosses have very clear reads and give you time to adjust your positioning. however ceroba's attacks are more akin to touhou's extra stage bosses that are also designed to be memorized, and are usually full of cheap shots (think flandre's laevateinn, suwako's 1st spell, the entirety of touhou 15, etc.)

This is probably way too late but if you use the golden cactus and then die immediately then hit retry, it’s effects will still continue after death (probably a bug) so for the first 3 turns you’ll heal 15 hp each turn and still get to keep the cactus for later bosses. Same with the g coffee if you want extra speed Helped me tremendously with this fight in terms of conserving items

To anyone struggling: What helped me was write down the attacks she does. After her initial attack (in both phases) she always has the same rotation and it really helps mentally preparing for them since you already know where to position etc.

And don't even get me STARTED on Marlet's geno fight.

Here is an easier way to defeat ceroba: get the flint and the steel buckle but do not throw them away continue fighting monsters until there is no one left and then after that you'll be ready to face against ceroba =)

I finally beat her after two hours of attempts. I used steel buckle and flint ammo, but you can use glass if you want a tiny help in tanking the attacks. What really helped was know ing what attack came next, don’t worry about getting hit because she only deal three damage with steel buckle, just don’t get your health reduced too much and eventually you’ll learn her attacks.

My advice for fighting her: Don't expect to win right away. Analyze her attacks, not in the "nerdy" way as in completely memorizing them, but rather just playing through them and knowing how to deal with each one with minimal damage. If you can do that, you will soon be able to progress.

Ceroba was pretty easy for me, like flowey said, all you have to do is memorise the patterns, she dies pretty quickly with flint ammo, doing 70 damage every time. There aren't many attacks, they loop, and there is a good strat for all of them.

Tip: Ceroba only has 7 attack patterns that loop in the exact same order, take notes and you’ll know exactly what happens and when Also the border of the box hurts you in phase 2, kinda wish it were telegraphed better by turning it into thorns or spikes but whatever I’d recommend using the Glass Bullets you can get by buying the mug in the gift shop, these heal 2 HP every time you land a shot. Also make sure that you keep yourself on some pretty low caliber healing items since you’re gonna need to save the huge ones for later

while i won't say that the fight wasn't difficult (it was, i died like 8 or 9 times against her, i can beat Sans in one try) this is perhaps my favorite boss fight in the Genocide route, and it's because this fight is mostly pattern based attack, which actually allows the player to use skill and knowledge to beat her, in contrast to other genocide boss battles where random attacks are used (looking at you Martlet Genocide Snowdin boss battle)

Here's some Tips one: do NOT use glass bullets use flint they are easier and try may or may not do more damage ( I forgor) also the healing is useless because two: on the geno route all shops are empty you can take one of each healing item so as long as you make plenty stops at markets you can get enough healing items to last three: do not and I mean DO NOT WHATSOEVER hit the red attacks as they take max hp the other attacks if following tip two can be tanked also as far as I'm aware almost all attacks only do 1 damage or maybe its my defence as I have easy mode enabled (I suck at bullet hells) so tank normal bullets when the red beam attacks come round trust me it's worth the trouble four: just enable easy mode if you need a fourth tip then just hold escape reopen go into config and enable easy mode it makes your hat give you def it may not sound like a lot but I needed it to get past FUCKING SNOWDIN MARTLET still wish I could've killed her there and then but that was all my tips thanks for reading

Hello, I don't know if you're going to see this but I need some help in this Boss, when the 2nd phase arrives (the red cane is put on) the maximum life starts to come down from nowhere without the lightning strikes, I am dodging and little by little it goes down and I don't know why, I look in the videos and I don't see it happening to anyone else, do you know why it happens?

In the second phase the bullet box borders are poisonous and drain a little max hp and normal hp when you touch them.

Glass ammo, after you take the elevator down from the mountain go left and there will be a shop with only one item. Ask to buy it and it will turn into the glass shard ammo which heals you for +2 hp on a perfect combo.

But this game and its ending actually kinda justifies genocide route, breaking the "fate" of Yellow Soul and erasing vile creatures from the world, so I'm still trying to process all I've seen
