When helping make this boss, I really tried to push Ceroba and her expressions to be as pained but also scary as possible. Both in a sad/physically pained way but your also fighting someone whose fighting themselves, scary way. Shattering both her shield and mask is symbolic of breaking the barriers of not only between her and her friends but to remove her own "mask"...Underneath that facade is a A broken person, a regretful person, someone who made the worst choices and now has to live with them. We all make stupid decisions when we're at our lowest, especially when given Impossible odds... some mistakes are just more costly than others... Despite this, shes still determined to hang on to the little chance that she has left, even if she is misguided. When were frustrated and losing, we scream out, both in an emotional sense, AND anime fight sense in this case lol. She is stubborn in the worst ways, even with the best intentions. That's what Ceroba is to me, I don't know how other devs and the main writers would say but that was my mindset. It can be hard to convey that with the the limits of sprites and small animations. I'm extremely happy something like this has happened and can show more of that emotion. The pain, the screaming, the lyrics. All nailed. MOTI, YOU ROCK

Ceroba is by far my favorite character in the game because of just how in depth she is. So many people look at her from a surface perspective when they don't seem to realize that she's a mother who lost everything. She has a chance to fix things and save a loved one. Even if it means becoming a true villain in the eyes of her friends. Parents do some really stupid things for the sake of those they love. Also, I flipped out so hard on those animations, they are BEAUTIFUL!

Everyone criticizes Ceroba's character design by saying she's a bad character because what happened is her fault -- when that's the whole point of her story. She made a decision that was a huge mistake, one she could have easily to avoided in hindsight. She knows it's her fault and that's why it hurts her so much more. And now all she wants is JUSTICE, for Chujin and for Kanako.

The absolute desperation and heartbreak in Ceroba's voice really hits hard if you know all she's been through. This woman had her kid attacked by a human, lost her husband to experiments with said human's SOUL, and then caused her daughter to fall down and, in turn, become an amalgamate (unknown to her until after Undertale Yellow), and now she's trying to kill another innocent child who she's grown to care about after everything.

This... it's hard to put into words how breathtaking this video is. The lyrics perfectly encapsulate Ceroba, her determination and regret over her mistakes being shown well through them. None of it feels out of character for her. And the singing... good freakin' lord. The descent from determination, to regret, to rage, to finally broken tears is done absolutely perfectly, and I HEAVILY commend MaidenOfMine for translating Ceroba's feelings and emotions through her singing. I'll, like many other commenters, point out both the pained scream and her crying at the end as heavy highlights. It's really hard to see those emotions acted well in media, but it sounds just so convincing here! Not to discredit the visuals, mind you. Of course, the art piece used is absolutely gorgeous, but the gameplay footage is timed perfectly well to certain events in the song (Ceroba injecting Kanako coupled with the lyrics at that moment working really well.) And helps that the fight is still stunning to look at, even around 2 months after playing the game for the first time. Honestly? I don't even think this is a video game song with lyrics. It's a borderline work of art. Kudos, MOTI.

Ceroba's scream when I first heard it in game gave me chills and the scream here in the song was able to give me that same feeling again. I was vibing along loving the references and the immediate dive into the theme of desperate pessimism vs. justice and then suddenly 0:40 hit and watched in awe as Maiden locked in. To preface, I have not played Undertale Yellow nor know what it is, but I have played Undertale. The emotion in this song is so raw, so powerful, so moving. I've listened to this song five times now and I've teared up every time. That yell scared me the first time I heard it. Grief, Anger, Sorrow, Annoyance, Regret, all emotions I felt in that yell. The escalation and de-escalation of her voice towards the end of the song broke my heart. The lyrics do a fantastic job of painting the picture for someone who hasn't experienced this first hand. If this is the final boss for the game, then this is an incredible final boss. The instrumentals give me goosebumps with how the flow, but the flow has moments where it becomes violent, then calm, before erupting into a volcanic crescendo to invoke a feeling of despair in the player. "No more hope, no more lies. Are you finally satisfied?" What a line. Maiden has a beautiful voice and her vocal range is very impressive. Just doing the vocals and trying to invoke the needed emotions in order to portray them effectively had to be physically taxing, but the pay of is nothing short of a masterpiece. Thank you for the hard work you all put into this.
