@@qwertyuiop.lkjhgfdsa ... you have to draw the sprites too- and animate them... and sometimes edit hit boxes for each frame, different items, worry about UX design especially in pixel art style games- This is coming from someone who has coded and made comics before. Both are hard, but a Game is MUCH more labor intensive due to the added UX design elements, audio, troubleshooting, playtesting, bugs and glitches, animating, and much more.

For anyone confused as to why this is the final part and not just a cliffhanger : We, the player, finally decided to quit the game and free Kris from our control. From 10:04 to 10:19, you'll see faded text in the background, one notable and most important text is "CONNECTION SEVERED" with Kris clutching their chest. Kris was the only reason we could "play"/read this comic in the first place and finally decided to take the noble route and not finish the "game". Whatever happens next is out of our control now and free for interpretations. The artist of the comic planned this cliffhanger from the start and I think it's an amazing ending, even if the ending keeps you on your toes ^^ Cheers to another great comic dub done!! Really enjoyed the comic dub :DD

Ooooh dang it! Agh! Ending it that way makes me more curious!! But... Is the Creators wish to leave it like that and is a sour and sweet taste. Sour because I don't get to see what happens next. Sweet because as the player... We basically... Ended the game and freed Kris. But trying to think it critically the way it ended is ... Confusing if the comic doesn't prepare us for this end. Like, in my opinion, should be with the final page with Kris showing us the severed connection and then everything fades to black. But that's just me.

so... basically Gaster needed just one more fountain to be opened, Asriel would probably create a new dark world where Kris could open this fountain, but as we severed the connection with Kris, he most probably lost the power to activate the fountains, thus not being able to complete what Gaster wants... in a nutshell, we fucked up Gaster plans by simply dropping out of the game lmao

No, Gaster's plans were ruined, not because Fris cant unlock the fountains anymore, cause he is still a creature of light and dark. The reason Gaster's plans got foiled is because without the player, the story literally cannot progress. It's as if you left a chess game right before checkmate. The ending will never happen, cause there is no player to progress to that ending.

I know that the important part is more the number of the Dark Fountains and their connections to Asriel, but still, it's a really cool (if unsubtle) symbolic thing and an awesome nod to Undertale... As well as the whole thing the Knight (I don't want to just call him 'human Gaster', feels weird) said about the details between Undertale and Deltarune's worlds being the same, just shuffled around a bit

This is the best ending, the player got guilty on what they have done and that them being in kris is ruining kris life. The selfish thing to do is stay in him until the end esp now that the others know of your presense. Releasing kris from your control even if it forces us to not see what happens as us being severed from this world mighta left us on a cliffhanger, but at least we know that giving kris control of his body was the right thing. More parts would just ruin the story imo.

@@KyleEvra I love kinda happy endings so I picture that it gets resolved later with Asriel (he probably knew about the Dark World for a long time before all this tbh), Kris, Susie, Noelle going around town in a panic and having to tell everyone about the legends n stuff so then it all ends in this grand Infinity War type way.. with them winning/teaming against Gaster and the end of the world; and somehow sealing up all the fountains idk Then they let all the humans free after Except.. maybe the two worlds are kinda combined now.. so you got kind of a big crossover going on forever With that being saaaid; also love thinking about what is happening with the Jevil, Sans, and Papyrus scenario.. seems interesting.. my guess is that it would take quite a few people to imprison him again (or get him under control) unless Jevil hurts Papyrus and Sans goes all Megaloviania lol

I love the meta commentary this comic provides, portraying Gaster as simply a character who was able to reach out to a higher world, our world, providing his world in the disguise of a game, and simultaneously manipulating a lower world, the Dark World, in order to create a bridge for the trapped humans. Gaster was playing 4D chess, and now that we, the player stuck in Kris, have served our use, we're no longer needed. And the player in a last attempt to save everything, seeing Gaster's master plan, disconnects, hoping to leave Kris to fix things. What a terrifying end... but now that we're gone, maybe there's still hope. Unfortunately, if that hope is to ever be realized, we cannot witness it. That's something us readers are just going to have to accept.

I love how this comic’s ending takes Toby’s idea of “I woke up from a dream about a game’s ending and wanted to write a game with that ending” literally. Like Toby Fox woke up right before he could see the ending properly, but thought that him waking up unable to see how it ended was so thematically appropriate since most people wake up from dreams before their proper “ending”.

I saw this series today , and finished it today , and i have a word to say for everyone who helped doing this : thank you , you did a job that literally unbelievable! How could anyone get out with such a fantastic story ! Not only it's Dark , like hella dark , but also emotional , i could've cry few times . I HATE how this comic has an anticlimactic ending, but... I'm glad the player no longer is controlling Kris, and that Asriel has a plan to help the humans and the monsters gain a peaceful relationship. Though I can't see the actual end to this tale, I can guess what happens pretty easily. The humans break out of the bunker using Gaster's portals of darkness, another war breaks out, monsters are in a panic, and trying to get away or kill the humans, as well as run away from the darkners. Asriel stops the war and makes peace with the humans, the monsters stop fighting the humans and help them build a village for them to live in within the forest, and all is at peace. Kris is finally free to live their life among their friends, darkner and lightener,and they all live happily ever after. ' At least, that's how I think it should end, but...I wouldn't know since I didn't write this comic, I'm just trying to fill in the blanks this ending left for interpretation. I did like the story though, and the voice acting was AMAZING. You did an EXCELLENT JOB! WELL DONE. X3

Actually, because the player is gone, the story can no longer move forward. The last fountain can never be found. It remains at only six. The darkness bleeds into the light but never fully emerges. Jevil crosses through and chaos reigns as no one has the ability to stop him in the Light World.

This entire story, we've been reading all of Asriel's secret diaries with Memory playing in the background. Which is accurate, since all these diaries are just memories of him. But hearing His Theme on his final entry made it so much more emotional. It signifies that this diary entry isn't just a memory anymore. It's in the present. Asriel is home. I teared up watching this for the first time, and I can only imagine how excited Kris is to see him back, along with them finally being free. I can't wait to see the Asriel and Kris reunion in game.

The comic ends, because you - the reader/player - must stop reading this story in order to prevent the demise of the lightners and the darkners. The player deliberately disconnected their control over Kris to save the world. The End.

It ended exactly as Gaster said. The players, or us the readers/watchers in this case, were left without our happy ending, and thus we had to decide for ourselves how it ends, unable to effect anything more now that we're not there to influence anything. Gasters plan clearly succeeded.. but we can never know where it leads because he planned it that way. In essence, Gasters exploited the meta of his own setting to create as many ways to win as he could, by designing an open ending from the very beginning. Edit: the comic even implies this, as if you look closely at the very end with Kris there's faint text giving the player the option to completely sever there connection to them, an action that it states is permanent. If gaster can be assumed to be the designer of the "game" then he likely planted that option on purpose so he could guilt trip the player into leaving without the proper ending, likely planning the huge reveal in the church as a guilt trip to lure players into accepting so they're out of the "game" before ever learning the results of there actions

I was like continually walking and screaming around my house while watching this final revelation 🧍🏻‍♀️ Like, HOW IS IT SO GOOD ?? From the comic to the voice acting that made the whole thing a lot better, and the little things you could find while watching ! For exemple, the thing that broke my heart was that for the last " diary " Asriel didn't put any little stars around his name at the end- he did that for all his little letters, but not for the Justice one where he decided to leave the town ! ...sooo...Gaster lost? The connection was permanently severed. The player is no more. Gaster's plan is done for. No player, no way to tame the fountain into a workable breach. It was a stupid plan anyway. By his own admission, the player seeks a HAPPY ENDING. What player would be satisfied with the ending Gaster offers? The player would never stop opposing him. Would never allow him to enjoy his victory. It would reseal the humans if need be. It isn't them that the player connected with. Or worse, I suppose. The player could be a genocide player. They won't stop at just destroying the town. Such a fool. Such a fool. In any case, I'm glad this isn't the canon story. I have a feeling the real thing will be very, very interesting.

This Comic Was Great! And The Story Was So Good! And They Even Got Some Things Correct From The Main Game Like Noelle Going In The Dark World, There Is More Dark Worlds(But no more ralsei's) And Lancer Coming With Kris(But Not In Inventory) But Also In My Opinion I Think If This Was The Story In Deltarune I Don't Think People Will Like It(I Mean The Ending) But I See Some Parts That Would Fit The Story But It Still Wouldn't Fit The Story For Deltarune(The Game) But All In All This Comic Was Good And Thank You For Voicing It Too!

Hmm... I don't really agree that quitting is a "good and noble" thing to do. It just suspends the characters in their suffering and uncertainty. Imagine spending eternity trapped in the same moment. Their time stops and we don't even give them the courtesy of seeing it to the end. Something we do as an act of compassion to other humans. So its really you just treating them as an object, not a person. Though ironically the "player" isn't responsible for the situation between them and Kris. The "developer" is. The "player" has no more power than what is provided to them than what the story writer provides and if their situation is a plaything to the higher being, that higher being is subject to the rules of an even higher being etc etc ad infinitum. Besides, what's worse is that if the story doesn't play by the same game logic, someone could just pick up the comic with another player in the driver seat.. Kris' "problem" is unsolved, they just have a new problem, because under the logic of this Kris is a vessel and vessels are meant to be filled. Kris being a vessel isn't resolved or altered.

That scientists was right about a lot of things, but the biggest truth he said is how we all lust for a desired ending. I have seen so many alternate universes from so many franchises. Each time I saw an upload for this after I found it, I just waited for the next to release before watching. Not 100% sure why, but I did. And that's how I realized this was going to be the final part. The end. End to the first comic dub that opened me to fan comics and dubs. And maybe it's just because of that reason that it feels so... hollow. Narratively, it works quite well, and yet... feels wrong. But given the statements featured here in the ending, maybe that's the point. It rings true not only here, but for the as-yet unfinished Deltarune as well: when an end comes, will it be one we can come to terms with, or one we feel needs a "truer" ending...?

I can't stand cliffhangers right when it finally gets to the end we're left to guess what happens. I know it's supposed to be the end of the story for us but I can't help but feel like I just finished watching a show that went on forever building everything up to its dramatic conclusion just to find out that that conclusion will never come as the series was canceled at the episode right before the finally. its like playing a video game but right at the final boss finishes his introductions and the Healthbar appears the game just ends no final battle no conclusion to the story you spent the last 8 days to uncovering no satisfaction just dramatic pose cut to black roll credits. It's like reading a book but when you get to the end you discover the very last chapter has been ripped out. It's like if the matrix series didn't make a second or third movie and neo. It's a creators job to end a story whether it's good ending that dose justice to the series or a bad ending that fans will rage on forever they still end it. What this comic did was buildup to an epic final battle between good and evil and just not do anything with it. It's like Kubo from Kubo and the 2 strings at the beginning where Kubo got everyone in towns attention with his story and couldn't end it. (Those who seen Kubo and the 2 strings know what I'm talking about.) I hate open ended story's more then anything I just want to see the end.
