I don't think people actually realise how impressive it is that this series exist. The fact that it's all created by ONE PERSON? Most of the shows are always being made with hundreds of people working on those, and yet, Jael managed to create this all on their own (plus Nyx with the soundtracks ofc). Not to mention, that they not only created the plot and the animation, but they also have extremely good knowledge about all of the au's and Undertale Community.

For those who are confused on this episode, I THINK, that as XGaster tried to transport Cross back into the main timeline, Fatal did a thing and "modified the exit portal", causing them to be sent into an "unknown timeline" that Fatal was in. Fatal ended up touching XGaster, reading his code. Fatal recognized that Cross' code was connected to XGaster, and would try and attack XGaster THROUGH Cross' code. XGaster ended up finally attacking back, by slicing through Cross, nearly killing Cross and slicing an arm off of Fatal. XGaster then overwrote Cross and Ink back into the main timeline. Correct me if I'm wrong about any of this. Referring to the timelines and worlds- Error destroyed the Multiverse. The only places left are alternative timelines and branches of the main timeline, including the Omega timeline. The alternate timelines and branches are now detaching from the main timeline, also meaning that nothing will be able to enter or exit the main timeline, including people who can hop between dimensions.

I love how in the original Fatal comic, he ripped off Error's arm and Error screamed in pain and was for the first time scared of death. Here Fatal's arm gets cut off by XGaster in a way to cut his access, but Fatal didn't feel fear, just progress. He knows that XGaster can't keep everything under control and a corrupted file like Fatal can't be deleted or killed easily like Swap and Fell were, just another loose end that will leave untied to come back to bite him.

Beautifully explained. A cowardly move to save himself from being deleted. He couldn't do anything in the fight as the Gaster said, his visions were in danger. Anomalies are unpredictable and he fears exactly this. He doesn't know what Fatal can do. And this anomaly also cannot be deleted or modified in any way so his Overwrite powers are useless against him. The only thing that may possibly protect XGaster from Fatal is the timelines now branching off the main timeline. But who knows? Unexpectedly, Fatal might come back right at the end and finish what he started. He read XGaster's code after all.

This entire episode feelsl ike a love letter to Aftertale and Fatal Error's webcomics, and it's amazing. It's so faithful to the original characters. The way Fatal talks, the style change when Geno mentions being trapped in the SAVE screen. God. That was incredible.

@@AL-lh2ht Been a while since I read the comic, but: Error (which is also Geno having gone mad in the SAVE screen) kills Geno, but Geno also can't die in there so he becomes Fatal instead because it's a complete paradox. Fatal is completely psychotic, and pretty much obsessed with Papyrus. As seen here he sees people as code, and he has the ability to "Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V" so he quite literally kidnaps people by copying them, then pasting the copy back in his little anti-void (which is a bit different to the one shown here) to then literally sew their code with a bone to try and make his own Papyrus (only result we got to see was a hella glitchy UT sans).

Holy crap I only just noticed that when Geno says "There are many ways to break free" 8:16 there's a frame flash of Error with his red circle glasses. From what I remember I think Error is a variant of Geno which makes this absolutely amazing as it leads straight into Fatal Error too. An insane amount of detail as always, super impressive.

Error was a Geno that escaped the Save Screen and made it into the Anti-Void. After spending a long time in the Anti-Void Geno eventually transformed into Error.

As Fatal!Error's timeline is separate from Altertale's timeline as a whole. 2 existing timelines with the same types of characters with 1 having a new change guarantees a timeline separation between both timelines. So Geno and Fatal!Error aren't the same person they are right now. Geno is the original, Fatal is the change.

The appearence of the OG Gaster surprised me, he has an incredible presence, even superior to XGaster. He looks like a god who knows everything, the only one who is beyond time and space, beyond reset and overwrite, only appearing to "laugh" at the most dangerous being in the multiverse. Jakei really is carrying the entire Undertale Multiverse fandom on her shoulders. Honestly, your perseverence with this project is insane. Many would've given up far sooner, and it would be fair and understandable, but you have dedicated YEARS of your life to this, to this one niche fandom, done something so amazing for something with so much controversy towards it. Thank you for doing this for all the fans and creators out here. Your work is outstanding and undeserved by the world. I wanted to point out two specific details I loved: a) when Geno is talking about his altrnate selves, the style that he takes on is a beautiful mimcry of the artstyle of Crayon Queen when creating the Aftertale comic, it's absolutely lovely. b) in that same scene, we see a few flickers of Error, with his glasses on to boot, overlapping Geno, alluding to how one version of Geno became Error, his glasses being proof of that as they were a gift from alphys for his bad eyes in the Aftertale timeline. (For those who don't know their stories, here's a brief summary: Geno, or Aftertale sans, is a sans from a genocide timeline who before getting killed in the judgement hall, had injected some determination extracted from the soul experiments on himself, giving him enough determination to escape to the save screen, where he would become glitched due to the timeline restarting and a new Sans being created in place of him. He would then plan from the save screen to find a way to get sans to destroy their timeline so no more genocides could be possible, but would ultimately fail whene Sans brings Papyrus into the savescreen and the two are able to convince Geno to let Frisk, who had been imprisoned by him, go and fix things by getting a pacifist timeline. Frisk suceeds, and Geno leaves the save screen at the end, saved from dying by eating the pie, restoring his health, though not leaving him without his scars. This is the good ending. The bad ending picks up after this, where on the surface, Geno continues to mess around with his soul and determination, despite Sans warning him not to, and too much tampering eventually leads to Geno glitching himself out of Aftertale and into the Anti-void. Now imprisoned and isolated there, the nature of the domain slowly drives him insane, further glitching him out and changing him once more. In Geno's last moments of lucidity, he's furious at his outcome and furious that this happened to him, that other versions of him got their happy endings, and this feeling shapes the drive of who is born from Geno, Error, who habing lost all memories of who he was at one point, translates this feeling into a hatred for the multiverse and a determination to eradicate it, leaving only the original. I've waited for Fatal Error to come to Underverse for years, and I'm happy to say, it was DEFINITELY worth the wait. Underverse has an amazing and complex story, and even more insane animation, ESPECIALLY when you consider it was done by a single person. Underverse is one of my favorite KZbin series, and definitely my favorite Undertale series. I can't wait for Part 0.8. I'm sure it will be very, very interesting...

It immeadilty caught my eye as it feels like a reference to the artstyle of the original aftertale comics. Its such a small detail, yet its one of the many things that make this episode great.

I just realized how Ink and XGaster's characters are so similar and different at the same time. First of all, let's remember the beginning of the story: while XGaster has a soul, Ink doesn't, and while Ink wanted a soul to feel real emotions, XGaster wanted to destroy his soul. Furthermore, both characters have their own flaws, like XGaster with his perfectionism and Ink with his selfishness. These factors would explain why they do so well. Not to mention that both have the power of creation. Continuing, I also noticed how the unfolding of these characters' personal journeys is quite interesting. While XGaster hasn't had much contact with others, Ink is the complete opposite, we see this in his redemption arc when Fresh explains that his plan wouldn't work, and that everything Ink has done so far is nothing more than a failure. See, while Ink accepted that his ambitions were wrong and had to change, XGaster is currently still buying into the lies of future perfects and such. This reveals the evolution of Ink's character. Of course, we don't know what will happen to XGaster in 0.8, but for now, we can say that XGaster could be the same as in episode XTale 1. I think the message that Jakei wanted to give us with these characters is that when we are with people who support and correct us, we can face and overcome challenges more easily, and that counting on others is not weakness, but courage. Lastly, I would just like to appreciate the work that Jakei did with the entire story she created for Underverse, not only was she thoughtful with her own characters, but she was thoughtful with other people's characters as well. Her work is very competent and incredible, certainly very inspiring! Can't wait for 0.8

Not sure if its just me, but for some reason Gaster's behavior in this episode reminds me a lot of how Gaster is in A Fatal Error Has Occurred, with him subtly pushing XGaster in a direction to where his plans will succeed, even if it means admitting an uncomfortable truth. In the comic, Fatal eventually accepts Gaster’s guidance and does as he instructs, and his plan (partially) succeess once he does so. XGaster on the other hand, refuses to listen to our Gaster, rejecting the idea that he might not be prepared for whatever plan hes trying to put into place. Some really fantastic characterization going on here, good on you Jakei!

While everyone is complimenting the animation, I gotta say I absolutely LOVED the sound design of this one! Especially when X!Gaster slices through Cross, Geno, and UT!Gaster, the sound resonated in my ears and was incredibly satisfying! On top of this everything about Fatal Error's design, animation, and sound effects was just invigorating to experience! (The voice speech effect for Fatal was particularly great to hear) Credits to you, Nyx, and cyanwaves for such an amazing piece of art!

rewatching this, gotta say how much i love fatal there's just so much detail put into him like when he grabs cross' sword, it says the word COPY 13:36 at the beginning of the fight, he talks about how much talk there's been about xgaster which could show that he's been watching silently throughout everything that's happened and knows about "their kind" for staying silent and refusing to act, letting his "worthless creations" take all the damage until the threat of fatal being able to actually damage xgaster thru his code which leads to the end of the fight. fatal is a literal powerhouse, taking the loss of an arm like nothing and with strings that hurt a ton compared to error's that just controls others. fatal wants to use xgaster's code for himself, saying that his code is calling for him and none of his creations will save him. i think this will lead to fatal being the one to fight xgaster and take him down OR be the one to collect his code when xgaster does eventually get defeated. kinda sad to see cross getting caught in the crossfire (eyyy) but could it mean that later on, when fatal does eventually meet xgaster in the omega timeline or somewhere else for their "final battle," will cross get killed cause of it? xgaster is the type of guy to send his minions first and to play it safe after all. so many questions, cant wait for the next one!

6:22 honestly, cross’s anger here is just very chilling. You can just feel the emotion without any audible expression, by the small details in the art, like him seemingly clenching his teeth by making the lines more jagged at the right side edge, and also the sadness & anger that occurs near the end, where the lines near his eyeholes twitch a bit. It’s incredible this got done in less than a year. Amazing job!

I just discovered this series a couple days ago, and I've already binge-watched it all. Not only that, but I've researched the AUs of these characters as much as I could! I've read any comic I can find, watched summaries, animations, anything I can get my hands on! I love complicated stories where everything connects, I love stories of multi-versal travel. I can't believe it took me so long to discover the world of Undertale AUs! This series has been like the Infinity War of UT AUs, and I have a feeling this second season is going to be it's Endgame :) So excited to see where this goes next, even though I'm way late to the party, like usual!

I absolutely LOVE how well you captured CrayonQueen's style of comics for Aftertale. The way it switches when Geno is talking to XGaster is beautiful, and all the expressions on Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, and Toriel make them seem like you just brought the original comic to life with animation. 2:36 is the best example because I remember Undyne making that face SO MANY TIMES in the original comic. (It's also such a good way to subtly distinguish this Original Universe timeline from the main one we know)

I'm not sure what's more impressive, the fact that this series is still going strong after all these years, or that you somehow managed to NOT ONLY animate Fatal Error, BUT MAKE A WHOPPING 3 MINUTE LONG SMOOTH AF FIGHT WITH HIM. I know people are saying this left and right in the comments, but it's honestly hard to imagine how much work and detail went into actually animating this. Glitches are some of the hardest and most time consuming things to animate, and yet you pulled it off BEAUTIFULLY. If anyone thinks of complaining about the episode being "only" ~16 mins long (excluding intro/outro), go rewatch that Fatal Error fight again, untill you change your mind. I personally find it hella impressive you've managed to release this only 10 months after the previous episode. Congrats on 1 million subs by the way Jakei. Absolutely well deserved. The series definitely needs more recognition, not only by Undertale fans, but other people as well. Sure, if you want to understand the story well, you need to have knowledge about all of Undertale routes and even more about the whole AU rabbit hole, but i think even your average Joe with close to no Undertale knowledge would enjoy watching this because of how well the story itself is written.

I love geno as a concept a step for two or three different main paths The ones I know the most are of course the fandoms more stable ideas of errors creations. Starting with a insane geno who over time becomes error This is then countered by the creation of fatal error who will eventually hunt down a error. The animation is AMAZING! The animating of Fatal seemed more than a well done - it must be huge pain to animate him. And the conversation between X!Gaster and Original Gaster seemed very interesting, there’s a lot of potential in the relationship of them two! We also see how powerful Fatal is in the battle - the damage he is able to do is huge, and the sheer craziness from his attacks and words, he is literally threatening to take X!Gaster’s soul through Cross behest getting sliced into half - he remains undead, so we don’t know if he’s gonna come back later to try and take the codes of X!Gaster again!

Man your series is just incredible! After playing Undertale (for the record I'm French), I searched KZbin and came across a video called XTale. I said to myself “what is this thing” and started the video; I loved. The two characters that caught my attention were X!Chara and X!Gaster. After watching XTale I saw there was a video called Underverse and I started it. I didn't know it was the sequel to XTale! Thanks to Underverse, X!Gaster has become my favorite character (sorry X!Chara you're cool too but X!Gaster is so good!). When I saw X!Gaster return in Underverse 0.4, I screamed “WTF!” I followed your series until Underverse 0.7 part1 (this was in 2023) When Underverse 0.7 part 2 came along, I jumped on my computer and watched. Fatal Error is so good! I thought it was Error who transformed but it was Geno. I expected anyone except Geno (and X!Gaster too). Thank you for your incredible series and I also say thank you to NyxTheShield for his incredible music.

Out of all the sans geno to me is one of the most important figures in the general complexity that is the weird ecosystem that we love: the undertale multiverses. He’s withers destined to be a destroyer who fulfills a purpose to wipe certain ideas clean. Fatal (minus the fact that he’s making a papyrus’s with copied code , really depends on the iteration) upon encountering error will try to kill him with quite a high success rate.

"Now that I know alternate universes exist, I wonder if this is really the happy ending I wanted'. When Ask Error Sans was officially discontinued, the creator of Error, Fresh, and Geno released a post giving a few details on her plans for Error's past and future. One of these details was...Error was Geno's future. Sometime after the end of Aftertale, Geno began experimenting with Determination again, and blew himself into the Anti-Void. The incredible stress and isolation eventually caused him to glitch out, badly, and his memory went down the drain. Anything Error spews about an 'original timeline' or 'anomalies' or 'mistakes' is garbage. It's a combination of his envy over how everyone else gets a happy ending, and the awareness of how none of these AUs are the one HE remembers. The one he lost. Error's not a god or a demon. He doesn't have some secret knowledge about how too many AUs will destroy everything. He's throwing a perpetual tantrum over the happy ending he gave up. And of course, Fatal Error is another version of Geno...one created when a version of Geno survived an attack by Error, and decided to create his own Papyrus and kill Error... Something something, cycles of violence and self-destruction, eternally seeking to recreate a perfect past that never actually existed, eternally seeking to create a perfect future that's not actually capable of existing... Nothing is perfect and perfection is nothingness.

God I never stop feeling grateful for the amount of effort Nyx and Jael put into this series. They could have used their talents for other more profitable projects but nope,they stay persistent on this community of a 8 years old game. Jael is so damn awesome I feel like I don't deserve her works.
