Card will lower its own clock the higher the temp goes. So best solution for more performance is to improve the cards cooling and experiment with how much you can lower the voltage before card starts lowering the clocks. I have 2 X 120mm fans on gtx 1060 and max temps are around 60. Doesn't look fancy, but temperature is great.

Nice I get ~70W at 100% usage. You should also define a more aggressive fan curve. I have 50% as minimum and it's barely about the noise level of the rest of my system. And then I define a steep curve above 50C to keep the gpu cool. Rule of the thumb for electronics is that for every 10 degs above max rating, life is cut in half.

My GTX 1060 6GT OCV2 rarely reach 65°c after undervolting. I can't thank you enough so I subscribed to your channel! In my experience I find that 950 mV is the sweet spot if you want to undervolt and overclock. Increase 50 mV will raise the temperature 3-4°c and you gain a few extra FPS. I accidentally overclocked VRAM too much (plus 1000MHz) then it caused my screen tearing/freezing, and artifacts while Heaven was still running. I waited for a few mins to let the GPU reset itself but it didn't so I switched off the PSU to restart my PC. Later the PC and GPU seemed to work well after that. My questions are did the force shut down damage my GPU while overclocking and why do you need to max out the power limit to undervolt GPU? Thank for taking your time to read my comment and answer my 2 questions!
@pathologicusmaximus5 ай бұрын
I highly doubt the force shutdown damaged your GPU. The driver just crashed hard. You don't need to max out the power limit. People do it because they see other people doing it. When overclocking it allows the card to draw a little bit more power, but when undervolting I don't think it does anything.
