Don't keep fishing your flukes the same old way! Today we're showing you underwater footage of new and exciting ways to rig a fluke for bass fishing! Are your clear water fish line shy? Are they in deep water? Do you prefer a magnum fluke? We've got a method to rig a soft jerkbait that will help you catch more bass today! Matt is showing us rigging, different sink rates, hook styles and more, in today's in-depth look at Fall fluke fishing for bass.
Matt begins with basic texas-rigging of an unweighted Zoom Super Fluke. From there he explains sink rates between a Fluke, Shiver Glide, Bass Assassin, and Caffeine Shad. He re-introduces the nose rig method of finesse fishing a fluke then wraps it up with an all-new rigging that combines a swinging hook with a nose weight to fool deep water bass. If the explanations aren't enough we back it up with underwater bass fishing footage to show how the lures move underwater and how the bass react to them. No matter how you rig it or where you fish, there is information in this video that will help you catch more soft jerkbait fish.
Fluke fishing (soft jerkbait fishing) is one of the most exciting ways to catch Fall bass. As they move into the shallows you can effectively target bass that are blowing up on bait but also those that hang below and refuse to rise to the surface. With the addition of the weighted nose rig, you can now effectively reach deep water bass that are ambushing baitfish as well. The fluke is an incredibly versatile tool that should be in every bass angler's box. If you haven't been using it effectively, you're not alone. Many bass fisherman overlook the soft jerkbait for Fall bass, but now you have the tools you'll need to put it to work this Fall.
Below is a breakdown of the baits and equipment that were discussed in this video as well as rod and reel recommendations for soft jerkbaits.

Definitely one of the best. TB videos can get kind of long for me but there’s definitely a ton of good info. I think my favorite fishing channel has to be KZbin Fishing Vids. Cornell knows his stuff and gets it done. Also, don’t sleep on Kickin their bass TV. Noah is super knowledgeable and not insufferable like the googans.

I’m an avid fluke swimming shad user. I love those zoom baits! But thank you for the rigging tips! That gave me a lot to think about. I get a pretty heavy strike ratio, but have been getting a lot of spit baits or missed hook ups. I also fish Florida shallow water mostly so will definitely be trying some of those rigging tips. thanks! I didn’t know they usually swallow head first on those.

Great videos! (great education for those that are new to bass fishing) I just watched this fluke video and then the 2018 “fluke video” and I then went thru every comment and only seen the word “Wacky” twice. I’m sure others will agree that there are more actions available to a super fluke when “Wacky rigged”. It can be fished slower, twitched differently, etc... BUT, it is a GREAT way to keep using fluke style baits after the head part is torn up by fish when Texas rigged!

Great video Matt. I have used several of your suggestions this summer, ie Revenge Spinnerbait, to catch my personal best this fall, 6lb 6 oz largemouth, and to catch fish all season long. You said, and you were right, the spinnerbait was like the forgotten bait with everyone going to paddle tails SB and this year it was almost like the fish were hitting the spinnerbait like they had never seen it before. I am eager to try the flukes, as I don't see many folks fishing them where I am and I am hoping it is another example of the overlooked/forgotten bait. Thanks for the tips and keep the videos coming.

Super fluke is best with 8lb fluorocarbon in my experience. Anything heavier takes away the action that the bait was designed to do. Double fluke rig is my favorite. The fluke on the floating swivel is 4 or 5 inches in front of the fluke on the main line. They dart side to side in sync with each other and looks like one is chasing the other. Deadly 🔥🎣🎣

Adding a glass rattle horizontally to the body of the fluke after its rigged works well too. Helps with the glide/side to side and adds noise. I do have problems with casting a weightless spook at times being a shore angler most of the time fishing ponds. It can be hard enough carrying one 1pc rod through the brush at times, let alone two. I have much more confidence in my heavier line/hook/bait presentations than I do light so I tend to bring my heavier stick. I'll try something new
