Ok as an old fashioned kind of fisherman. The fish finder or what ever it is i think is cheating. But all and all them are some nice perch. They was getting wise to ya tho near the end when they do that ur best bet is to move 20 30 yards away and drill a new hole

The best thing I've found for perch is a thing called Swedish pimple, find one that glows in the dark...an i know it sounds horrid but if you pop out the perches eye ball you can use that as bait an they love it...

Try st Luke’s, lake st Clair, 14 ft. Get some slabbers! I fish a 8” hole and throw em back if their smaller. We get 12”-14”s quite a bit. It’s a bummer when all those small fish come in.... go thru your bait pretty fast! Good job on the camera work!

Well, perch are not the smartest spices on the planet, that’s for sure. Got em over here in Sweden too and they can grow to humongous size, but mostly you catch the smaller ones. That size makes for great fish burgers if you cut up the meat fine, mix with a little bit of rainbow or char meat, cornstarch, salt, lemon pepper and dill. Put em on the grill or in the frying pan. Serve with french fries and honey mustard sauce... Thanks for the vid, man! It was years since we had ice, safe for ice fishing on the lakes over here. So you sharing your fishing trips are very appreciated.

I have a suggestion. I live in Michigan and when I got fishing my dad usually used night crawlers to catch a smaller perch then we cut the smaller perch up and use the perch meat as bait. We get a lot of huge perch with it. Usually around 7-12 inches.

Hey, Fisher? How do you prep and cook your perch? And do you like pike? So far, pike’s my favorite. Use to fish them out of Lake Cunums in Nevada just a few minutes south of Ely and west of Cave Lake. They’re invasive in Nevada, so it’s “never release”, like with your German born zebra mussels. Use to get them 24-36” consistently on rainbow jigs.

I fillet and deep fry them! Although I have never actually cleaned a pike, they are tricky! I have had pickled pike before though and it was pretty good!

@@TheFisher I recommend making “nuggets” out of the pike fillet and breading them. It’s extremely mild and tender, like walleye. But be careful handling one. The flap of the gill is razor sharp, and they thrash. I’ve seen fishermen missing finger tips because they tried to pick them up by the gills and the pike objected, shaking its head. I’ve also seen pike being filleted and having a fillet knife fall out of them that they had previously swallowed. And I will have to give perch a try when I can! Sadly everything here in the Black Hills is farm raised and from a freezer, but I bet there is good metal to be fished in the lakes and creeks near the old mines if you stop by!

I have a buddy heater in my popup. It just makes the floor wet. Guys light fires on top of the ice. It does not thin it enough to matter...usually.

It does melt the ice a little but it’s not bad. I had snow piled up around the outside of my tent forming like a bowl in the tent almost and the melted water was filling up on the inside like a pond 😆
