Have an overflow like this on one of my ponds because of beavers having a tendency to dam up the creek used to get out there and clean it by hand like you did. But we have now modified it to where I can just go pick it up with a grapple on our excavator and now all the debris and water drains out instantly.

@@Brad.W That's definitely easier. I don't mind doing it this way. Keeps me young (or so I tell myself).

@UpNorthMowingDude yeah we still have to get out there and pick up like all the bigger limbs and stuff that can't get down the drain but that drain is pretty big 55 gallon drum will go right down in it.

Massive job not many would take that on , just a tip if you put a Taup on vehicle base or trailer then load grass , it’s much easier to pull taup and grass off in one go and leave vehicle tray clean

I noticed he said “whoever owns this”. So, he doesn’t speak to the land owner and just starts doing his thing. Maybe the owner doesn’t want him messing with the water flow. Maybe the owner doesn’t want to assume the liability of this guy getting hurt. I would say always check with the land owner before you do anything. I get it, he wants to help but, it is not his land.

I have a bad feeling that a lot of what you tossed down the drain is sitting at the bottom of that fall in a huge pile, because I saw very few lumps of stuff come out. I would have expected to see gushes of water, sticks, and debris rush out sporadically, not such a consistent flow as we saw here. There just hasn't been enough of a flow to push it out the sheer amount of debris build-up. If there is a buildup at the bottom, it was already there before you arrived. In the next storm when there is substantial flow, hopefully it will be enough to flush out the debris.
