You just explained something I have been struggling with in landscapes I have been trying to do with distance/no reflection in the water. Kept trying to put reflections in and it never looked right. Now I know why! Thank you for that and I love your rocks!

Since I live on a beach, I’ve done rocks before. I’ve used a little different approach, but now I’m inspired to do this method! My challenge seems to be to make rocks look like a rock and not a potato.😊

I echo the sediments of susan jerell. Thank you so much. This is the absolutely best instruction video I''ve ever watched. I'm a 68 year old beginner. I think I must be crazy! Have never taken classes until this year and from a 80 old professor. The people in the class are very advanced artists. My work looks like a 6th grade art class...so therefore I spend HOURS watching videos trying to catch up. For hundreds of years of experience. To watch your videos live to I have to get a subscription of some kind?

Hello Shelley, I’m very grateful for your videos that I watch from France. You’re very generous and your explanations and demos are so clear and interesting. Could you please one day do a demo that deals with a light and dark background on wet paper. Like those in nature, in a forest or a garden for instance, we can see dark areas and very luminous ones at the same time in the background. I don’t know how to manage with contrasted values on wet. Love your teaching! I have recently switched to 300lb paper and it’s sucking all the paint off my brush so fast, please help!

Thank you. 300lb paper is super absorbent because it's so much thicker. If you are trying to work wet into wet, you need to use a lot more water and fill up that brush as you paint.
