“One of the biggest myths out there is that getting the diagnosis is the most important thing”

My father just died of interstitial lung disease after covid a few months ago. He passed six weeks after covid hospitalization. So, did his brother, my uncle a few months earlier. NOW, after 30 years, my doctors are beginning to believe that my symptoms might be lupus or RA on top of a couple of other autoimmune conditions. I can't believe it takes two men closely related to me to die to get doctors attention. I was told by the rheumatologist that in women, they get lupus or RA in an unremitting fast-paced endgame after having for several years. So, now I monitor my disease for sudden worsenings. My father knew he had this diagnosis and didn't tell anyone! I could have started taking medication 30 years ago when my symptoms began. Just pissed.

Just finding this channel!! (in a search list for “reynaulds and connective tissue disorder”). 😆Sub’d!!! I’m sooo tired of experiencing all of the health mysteries!😭!!!, but this channel seems to have the mindset I’m looking for- functional medicine. (and I also like complementary, alt, naturopathic, homeopathy) As a RN (critical care), and a long time sufferer of “what the hell is wrong with me, now?!?, again!?!”... I think I’m going to love this channel. Looking forward to adding the channel to my go-to’s for trying to find some answers to my ongoing, and increasing list of, “medical mysteries”.

This whole thing felt like a sales pitch... But one i couldnt help but take in. Hard to feel any sort of safe in this industry after always been pulled around or ignored. Ahha. Not having the money to buy a lot of these things makes it hard to manage as well. So you end up forced towards the meds.

I hear you on not being able to feel safe and heard-- we've had way too many people come to us with similar stories, essentially feeling like they are being gaslit about their health. What I will say is that you only get one body-- and investing in your health will ALWAYS be worth it. However we totally understand if you aren't financially in the position to do so, which is why we have tons of free resources here on our channel. Can I ask you about what symptoms you're experiencing? Maybe I can direct you to some more resources :)
