For me this is hands down the best version of "Undine" out there! I keep coming back to this recording, I am in still in love with the tone, the way music phrases are shaped, the way the pianist is also deeply engaged, such a great performance, I love everything about it :')

This is a real duo! The pianist and the flutist really listen to, are perfectly complementary, while developping each a very beautiful sound. Very talented musicians!

I love the emotional power of this interpretation. It does this piece of music justice.

I still can’t believe I’ll be playing this in a month ._. (Btw this is the best recording I’ve seen of this piece, it’s truly incredible how beautiful his tone is omg, I’m trying my best the mimic it).

@Leges Flute, thanks for sharing this magnificent live performance of one of my favourite Sonatas for flute and piano. Both Davide Formisano and Phillip Moll played brilliantly !!!

Dear ConfusedGirl1995, It doesn't matter how proud flautist you might be... without a competent pianist such as Mr. Moll, this sonata would be a real flop. Since I can play both parts (taking me longer to negociate the treacherous piano part) I could firmly say... I am proud to be a pianist!... and proud to also play the flute. ; >)
@gcg81876 жыл бұрын
Mr. Moll is one of the best. But look man, we came here for Formisano's sound and expression. He is the main headliner here.

Well, don't really know what you meant, but that's not a trill :D
@cassianblackburn-enever96623 жыл бұрын
@@legesflute it is a trill at 3:36, it’s just written in semiquavers but the speed makes it a trill
@legesflute3 жыл бұрын
@@cassianblackburn-enever9662 it's not, look at the score. Edit: ok I saw your edit. I could agree then, but still don't get the point 😅
@matthews.6932 жыл бұрын
It’s called a Tremelo, when you switch rapid between to notes as if they where individually written out one by one. The difference is that a Tremelo must follow the tempo rather than for a trill which is just spamming a note back and forth with no care of if each switch is In beat or not. (I’m 6 years late)

But who is this Davide??? It is played by James Galway and his pianist obviously!!!
@legesflute6 жыл бұрын
Just no...
@Neuroneos6 жыл бұрын
Moll played it with multiple flautists, and this clearly doesn't sound like Galway's playing; the touch is lighter, the whole spirit is different...

Sorry I honestly don't like this rendition... this is supposed to be a really feministic piece...and it's not beautiful at all when it turns this powerful...

How sexist is this comment? LOL
@gcg81876 жыл бұрын
@@legesflute it's not sexist dude, where did he say one sex is better and/or preferred than the other sex? You don't have to look far to see that both sexes have ppl of a mix of masculine and feminine traits. Masculine and feminine are two distinct concepts/traits, and there's nothing sexist about it.
@aliki_skandali4 жыл бұрын
@@gcg8187 well they could've said that it is supposed to be softer, less powerful (altho I really like this edition personally). I don't know if it is sexist or not but I don't really enjoy when feminity is connected with being just soft and quiet, it can be explosive as well. For me music has no gender but that's a personal opinion 😇 Glad to hear your opinion too, by the way I might come across as offensive but I promise I do not have such intentions I just love to have pleasant argument conversations on interesting topics in the comment section 😊
