Hey guys, I think it's fair I expand on the points here for those interested in challenging my points. Steel City are using a Game Engine which offers Realtime Raytracing, and various Physics frameworks and assets which could be purchased or are available out the Box. Additionally the fighters are scanned not manually created, that includes the textures, tattoo’s etc. With that being said, In Agile Development tasks are measured by “Effort”. So consider the Effort placed in the last update 2 weeks ago below: 1. Tweaked values of existing fighters, to my knowledge the code would look something like this for Ali’s left hand: var ali_lftHand = 87; 1. 2 Scanned fighters, and applied a boxing trait which already existed. 2. Included a stage which was essentially in their very first trailer and a daytime version of an existing stage. Despite the Cheating Epidemic and gripes over character Exploits, things you’d assume would be prioritized, Steel City released the above. I hope this helps you in estimating the effort Steel City place in their next update, *and of course I hope it’s a successful one*

I am sick to death of hook spammers ive had to take a break from the game as i actually cannot play tactically when someone can just walk through power jabs and counter shots only to spam left hook and still daze me through my guard its unbearable right now.

@@ClaimerUncut I wish it was just Ali but honestly ive also had it from Fury players the issue is its a viable strategy on any fighter as for some reason hooks do INSANE damage especially repeated hooks and for what ever reason you cannot block them. often times ive tried to duck under but there is such a delay in the movement that timing it correctly when its being spammed would need a miracle. hooks do more than clean landed shots and counters bleh! id love to have a game with you sometime and maybe enjoy the game the way its meant to be played. Rant over haha

I just lost it today after facing 5 players using only OP fighters in ranked. Every single one abusing hooks, body UC and of course the non stop step back Fury. Uninstalled the game for now. It has gone from being annoying to infuriating because now, as all the fair play players are left, only orcs remain. Even unranked is plagued now.

I had to take a break, will try after the next update. Stamina, power, counters, damage, even blocking all seem jacked up at the moment. I'd love for them to add directional blocking/parrying, like old fight night, I think this game really needs it. Blocking can be weird as hell depending on who you're fighting.

You're the 4th comment stating you had to take a break.. and that's my fear in terms of the game losing it's momentum, because it's hard to get back unless big youtubers bring it up again, and currently some have publicly given up on it. Directional blocking I think do exist, I just haven't explored it myself yet, plus I'm not sure it would be enough to block the left hook spam of Ali.

@@ClaimerUncut definitely... the spamming is too powerful with no real drawbacks at the moment, but at least if there was a nice parry and counter window and maybe some actual damage multiplier for landing a well timed counter I could take advantage of spammers.. but right now it's got a great base for a real technical boxing game that's devolved into skill free hook spamming and general cheating.. I'm hoping they get the balance right sooner rather than later. It's hard to want to get better at the game or go online since I'm not interested in practicing my hook spamming or fighting cheaters.

As a follow-up, I don't think they can realistically release two different modes of play. That's effectively two different games, with extra effort required to test and balance both. Ultimately, it will make both modes worse as opposed to having one mode that's well implemented. The studio needs to figure out what type of game its aiming for and build that. If it's an arcade game, be upfront about it so the simulation fans can move on. If it's a simulation game, remove the arcade-like aspects and make boxing IQ actually matter.

You're right, there needs to be a clear direction in order to meet expectations for their core demographic. Regarding two game modes from a technical standpoint, it may not be "too" difficult to create a child Branch which tweaks player values e.g. punch power / stamina, and any future changes to the Parent Branch (core gameplay changes) will also apply to that child branch. Saying that, I have no clue of the developers expertise or process they follow, I just have a hunch there are too many cooks in the kitchen, and the original Authentic vision may have been tarnished by newcomers.

Nice critique. I too share the frustration towards hook spammer . Haven’t come across many who spam body uppercuts. In any case, I find that those players stamina do deplete over time, just have to play a long game and let them punch air. Their tactic is not a particularly skilled one, nor is it admirable, and I do think some of the “superheroes” need to have their stamina capacity modified

Thanks Howard, appreciated. Yeah i'd say the most notable Hook Spammers are Ali and Jones. Despite openings to capitalize on in later rounds, If by round 2 there's a clear skill gap, I have no desire (at this stage 6 weeks in) to stretch a match out to 10 or 12 rounds, when there are capable players waiting in the wings who will make those 12 rounds rewarding win or lose. Sadly the games momentum is dwindling, popular youtubers are announcing their boredom to large demographics.. I think the team are in a sink or swim scenario depending on their next Update.

Thank you for being honest about this game. Too many people are blinded by the "good graphics" not realising how low effort those things are. When it's come to REAL issues, Steel City has not delivered, even in the 5 months since this video. I don't think they have the talent to anymore, I think it's all coming to a halt. I think the game is headed in a good direction, but the OP fighters really kind of break the game and take away from the experience. A matchmaking system based around +/- a character's overall would be a massive help, at least in ranked, where it's important to have fair fights. Kind of makes you wonder why they put in so many of these low ranked fighters when it's clear 70% of the population are using the same 2-4 guys in each division. Every one of those fights is basically fighting Isaac frost on the hardest difficulty, even if the guy you're playing isn't good.

Isaac Frost is the perfect analogy, it can be draining on the soul when an easy match is stretched out to the full 12 rounds, beating the breaks off your Opponents as they march forward and your holding your breath frantically pulling yourself out of a spam attack, it's not worth the hassle 😂

The top fighter in the division should get a max 1 xp point per win for fighting Gold 1 vs. Gold 1, etc. Then scale the xp higher for lesser fighters. They tried this, but not drastically enough. If it takes 100 xp per ranking, then make SRR, RJJ, Fury and Ali, players fight 100 fights to get to the next level.

Since the update, its even harder to daze your Opponents with counters plus playing as a heavyweight like Frank Bruno who has 38 career knockouts, you'll. End up going 12 rounds despite landing over 200 hooks to the head.. The next update is definitely do or die

Thank you so much for making this video. I want to love this game so much. I've logged countless hours, but it's just unplayable at this point. Everyone has figured out you need to be Ali at HW, and there's really no need to actually box. He has a chin of steel and a stamina bar that seems more for fashion than anything relating to what he's able to throw. And his power? 3 shots and you're done. There's such an ability to actually box nicely in this game as your game play shows. You're boxing in a way that I wish I could. But then again, it gets you nowhere when going up against the metas.

Haha 😂 well the spamming really depends on the fighter, if it's Ali's hooks for example, it only takes 3 shots to daze an opponent, plus if you're mixing it up left to right, I wouldn't consider it a spam. Next video I highlight "The Ali Exploit" you'll see how bad it can really get

I have found a way to counter the hook/ uppercut spammers. Just use footwork and a boxer with reach and a fast retreating straight. Wilder works great at this. By round 4 the left side of their face is destroyed.

Good shout, although here's the thing.. , I can counter it.. Infact I won that match I demonstrated by KO, the problem is we shouldn't have to find ways around it, so hopefully the devs nerf these simple exploits so we can the game more realistically on both sides. I actually really like the game (with a lot of caveats), like the actual boxing has the potential to be good; and to your point about the "purchasables", I see a few boxers that seem to have been properly mo-capped (Alverez, RJJ and other bigger names) but others have definitely not been (Crawford and other boxers that move around the ring like crabs, or as if they're sat on chairs). I'm hoping that the Early Access thing is just that, and that the full game will deliver. But there is loads of stuff SCI need to do get anywhere near the stuff that was shown a couple of years ago (when it was ESB).

Those who egotistically dismiss the exploits stating how you can "just counter" it, it's like.. That's not the point! We shouldn't have to waste time countering it 🤷🏽‍♂️ I have faith in the dev team too, tbh this video was tactical in some ways.. Got to be honest although aware that it’s incredibly childish I really despise the mindset of ranked players only using RJJ, Fury, Ali and SRR. When you see someone with a record of 120-10 there is 98% probability that they will abuse every mechanic in the book the second they understand that they are over matched. Marketing team might be showing analytics that “prove” players liking to play with these OP fighters but realistically those are not the ones who are going to stick around and spend years playing the game and forking out cash for Rocky pack, 70s’ Golden era pack etc. Whatever, give balance and I will spend FFS.

Also most punches in boxing don't stop the fighter when they get punched in the head like here they just freeze .it's liek the developers never seen a boxing fight. This game is depressing all logic and physics are out the door. The cheating goes beyond punch spammers and exploits. This game has been hacked or cracked. Opponents now have the ability to daze you multiple times without even punching you. Sometime from the other side of the ring. So much potential if the devs would actually listen to the community.

There's nothing wrong with any of the above.. however I question the experience of the developers to meet expectations when it comes to meticulous coding, this isn't an insult, just based on the current status.

I just reached Platinum on ranked and first 2 games I had I swear the geezers were cheating, constantly spamming power punches for the first 6 rounds and not losing any stamina ! I was outboxing them still but my stamina was down to like 30% by round 6 ! I ended up getting knocked out both times. I wasn't sure whether it was because platinum level to good for me, or if they were 100% cheating. When you do play against someone who doesn't cheat or spam, the fights are amazing and do feel quite realistic. They need an add friend option in the game, luckily I met a dude who I have been playing against online, added him as a friend on steam and we just 1v1 each other all night, the fights we have are amazing. I actually really love the game, but it definitely is a rough diamond at the moment. Power punches need more of a stamina drain, especially if you miss.. and I am dreading that platinum rank is just going to be full of cheaters. Would be cool if they reset the ranks/stats every month and everyone starts at the bottom again monthly, a bit like seasons.

@@ClaimerUncut I've had a few ideas that I think are decent, at the end fight results show the opponents stamina and health that they had at the end of the fight... if it's still 100% and you get KO'd in round 6 that's a good way to tell if the opponent is cheating. Also add a Tournament mode, 1st Knockout Round, Qtr Final, Semi Final, Final, if you win it then you win a "belt" - A bit like FIFA Cup Tournaments online. I think that would be cool and add more jeopardy. At the moment too I think reset the ranks every 4 weeks give players more incentive to play, reset rank, everyone starts at Bronze again and have to try build their way up. Treat every 4 weeks like a season - keep season stats. Online, if you're on a 5+ win streak or the opponent is, it should tell you, to try intensify the fight more. Add an add friend option at the end of the fight, if you meet someone you really have a good fight with it's sometimes hard to find them on STEAM afterwards. Add voice chat in the game but make it limited, so you have to press a button to talk, but you can only use voice chat for a total of 1 / 2 minutes throughout the entire fight... so for 10seconds you could hold down the talk button and shout "you aint hurting me, c'mon Claimer" ... trash talk or "Nice hook" - Like boxers do in the ring, they'll often fire themselves up or egg the opponent on. Would you be up for a few fights one evening Claimer?

There are for sure a lot of easily exploitative elements to the gameplay that can be mitigated through patching. But unfortunately you can never 100% convince the majority of people to not take the path of least resistance. At the top of almost every ranked fighting game it is nearly unplayable with just copious amounts of cheese and ever adaptable metas. UFC 4 being particularly guilty of this. All you can really do is make the incentives better for using non-god characters. Ultimately you can fix the game all you want, but you can't fix the playerbase.

I love the game in its purist form, but it's next to impossible to find that type of gameplay online. Even the AI is broken, it's next to impossible to have a realistic match again the AI when thy throw 80% body shots and have the uncanny ability to counter any punch they choose. Even when the AI has no stamina and their punches are in slow motion, their punch power and punch resistance seem to not be fazed at all. I currently am taking a break from the game and can't see a return anytime soon with the current state of the game. It's absolutely littered with actual cheaters and spammers. It's actually quite disappointing. Being a huge boxing fan and waiting 10 years for a boxing game, it's kind of hard not to be disappointed.

Well said, regarding the AI.. I genuinely believe this was a rushed early access, single player for example.. Merely being AI programmed to march forward, counter with body shots, then circle out randomly, rinse and repeat. Same goes for lack of knowledge regarding hackers, and qa testing for competitive exploits It sounds like theyve been releasing quick fixes, whilst working on a reworking of the entire system which should be released next, so I'm on hold from the game until then

They don't care about making an authentic boxing game, they care about an eSports title with all the fake hype and excitement that entails. Casuals aren't going to care about the intricacies of boxing and outclassing their opponents, they want easy knockouts. And that's why the game currently caters to basic exploits with overpowered characters; it's what gets people to buy the game. Ultimately, until the devs move away from the eSports mindset I don't think this game is going to improve. Spot on the AI are on fucking steroids! ATTRIBUTES ARE TOTALLY WRONG. However, I'm really surprised there is NO mention of the scripted punching system. Is it just me? How many time I press for a left punch but it gives me a right punch, which is quite annoying and stuffs up your combination process. Blocking doesn't always work, and there is a way of doing a catch and shoot, but it doesn't always work. Punches sometimes are really weak and other times really powerful. Does the analog stick 'direction' have anything to do with it? I realise whilst I'm moving back and throw a right hand it will be weaker, so logic tells me in the the opposite direction when moving forward the punch should be harder with more weight, but I can't always get that consistent power. Uppercuts are the worst, like they do fuck all. It's like there is no pivot no power, like what's the fucking point. Yeah I have been dropped or KO from an ARM punch with no pivot no weight on the front foot, just frustrating!

I still can't find or connect to any online match after trying EVERY online fix including resetting my IP and other big under the hood shit. They really just went "lol bro just sync your time on your pc." I can't be the only one that can't even find a match. Props on the video, very well made. However, Undisputed IS the most realistic boxing sim to date. It has its problems and balancing issues, but so do the other sports combat sims. You can outbox and punish all that same-hand spamming through movement and the game's counter system if you know what you're doing. Making those players look foolish. Thanks man, Without a doubt, it's the most authentic boxing game, And I'd argue those mechanics are executed so well in the likes of Frank Bruno, Kell Brook, & Ricky Hatton (& more) , which is why unfortunately I think they've made a conscious decision to overpower the legendary status Roster, the only part I'd question you on is the "get better" narrative to counter the spammers. I'm often regarded as one of the better players in the game (no ego, just based on my technical breakdown feedback) , and I shouldn't HAVE to waste time and energy countering nonsense even if I can. The amount of times I should have finished an opponent in round 1,and I have to stretch it out to 12 rounds is almost criminal! Additionally try avoiding Alis hooks with Frank Bruno, the weakest defence in HW.. Sure its possible, but it's just not worth the hassle. 🤷🏽‍♂️✊🏽

It is impossible to finish anyone with the slightest bit of competence early unless a flash KO happens, but I don't really mind it since I feel the technical boxing aspect of Undisputed is far better than Fight Night ever was... I also agree that lower rated fighters are at a massive disadvantage in this game, probably more-so than the UFC or Fight Night games, but one could argue that that's accurate. What the game absolutely needs online is a fighter select screen that both players can see who's picking who -- the same thing that other games have. Recently there was an uppercut spammer on reddit offering challenges to all of the people that claim they can outbox spam. To date people have took him up on his challenge but nobody has beaten him. Where are all of the videos showing how to easily beat all the spammers? If it's so easy to make spammers look like fools where are all the videos and instructions? I'm sincerely curious as I have a such a channel for fight night champion. I show exactly what to do vs "elite" level spammers and maintain a 90 -95% win rate vs them. I show my audience exactly how to overcome fight night spam. (There are other channels as well) I have yet to find anything similar for undisputed. Based on the lack of videos I don't think it's that easy and the spam/hacking is far beyond just out boxing them.

I think you should think this comment through Axe, key word "uppercut" take a look at the punch being thrown at range. Note the arm fully extended.. Now consider what damage that could apply to a fighters own wrist.. And the lack of damage realistically that would have on an opponent. In regards to being taken seriously, this goes both ways. You disagree with me, so instead of resorting to sly ad hominems.. share your counter arguments.

Go watch a couple real fights, then watch the game. You'll see how bad this game actually is. Go watch some real fights, then go watch. Fight night champion. You'll see how good that actually is. I don't get how they messed us up so bad. Why are these boxers hopping around like bunnies? I get that they're flat-footed and fight night champion but you could have remastered it and made it to where everybody had different styles

I think on launch, they didn't consider how players would exploit broken mechanics. On launch you could have a semi realistic game, it's only since people realised you can spam these manually animated punches for Jones, Ali, Frazier.. Etc the game looks terrible.
