Back step straight is on the same level as long range uppercuts and hook spam that blows past your own punches to daze you? Especially when it suffers from being a weaker punch that moves you out of combo range, and doesn't seem to impact scoring much? You learn something new every day! I guess up next will be moving off the center line because it makes punches miss? Since defensive boxing is an exploit, apparently.

This update was very lack luster. It’s been over two weeks since the last update, being that the previous update was content additions more so than fixing the game. They’re too focused on top 5 knockouts and sanctioning piss poor matches on their live streams. Even if we don’t agree with what they updated in the game, the vagueness alone is enough to be disappointed. You’re left wondering, “What exactly did they fix in two weeks?”. Sadly, I think this was the update to keep it alive and they blew it. Hopefully we get people to hold on a little bit longer, but I don’t blame anyone for wanting to leave this game in the dust.

Wtf yeah dude some bugs ain’t fixed and maybe it’s not the update we all hoped for, but to this day this is or will be one of the best online boxing games ever made. We all wanted that since fight night champions came out. So don’t say everything is bad and we should let this game leave in the dust. Just hope they improve it and hear more to their communities

I was putting together a compilation on how to defend Ali's Spam Slap, and I faced a guy who knew exactly what he was doing, luring me into a normal game, but when on the decline.. Spamming the Ali Slap. I had put it in 200% and he still got me out of there. They're either Basement Dwelling Npc's or it's EA hiring kids to sabotage them.

@@ClaimerUncut Nah as you say we’re QA testers, I want to buy this game but I’m holding off a little until the iron out the stupid current meta. Even if I picked it up and was rubbish to begin with, it doesn’t seem like it takes long to adjust to the most effective strategy which to me is boring, I want many ways to play the game, it adds immense replay value. So i’ll sit tight a bit longer until they sort it, but it is only a early access

I think they've increased Hook Strength for fighters in general, they not braindead enough to increase Ali spam hook. Actually I dont know.

Yeah sadly I've played the update.. 3 games in a row I've gone 12 rounds with Frank Bruno against Ali Hook spammers and I think it's worse.

Honestly, I don't think is ready. I think it is a good start however I believe this will be more like a late 2024 game.

Yeah, with the character exploits which seem to be losing them player engagement, they'll most likely have to delay the console release.. Which isn't the worst thing in my opinion, atleast you'll receive a competent game without all the hassle we've had to endure! 😉👍

They increased hook power and damage done to blocks. That's literally playing into spammers' hands, not making it harder or more balanced. How hard is it to just flat out weaken hook combinations while improving other punches? Encourage people to use other tools in their box, instead of just one or two; ask *why* players are so reliant on hook spam and go from there. Also, I disagree that they should prioritize online play. Whether you can even retain enough players to populate your queues is a crap-shoot (especially in Early Access), and the experience is always going to be variable regardless. I have no control over the quality of my opponent's connection, his skill level, whether he's willing to cheat/rage quit, etc. If I want to get games in without worrying about the matchmaking nonsense, then single-player should offer enough content to make that possible. The AI should be good enough to provide a decent challenge, there should be enough modes and features to occupy my time, etc. When I *want* to face other players, that's when online play comes into the equation, but if I don't then my experience shouldn't be cheapened as a result.

Fair points regarding single player, (I'm actually more a fan of single player in UFC Undisputed 3 and Fight Night Champion than Online) I guess my perspective is more so relative to where single player currently stands, I find it to be unplayable. All boxers no matter the weight class possess the same patterns, they stick to you like glue, counter body punch you 3 or 4 times, and then randomly circle to the far side of the ring for no reason.. rinse and repeat. I think to expand upon the poor foundation they currently have would be high effort, and I honestly don't think the small team based on track record have the experience to pull it off in a short space of time, where as Online Play only a couple of weeks ago had great momentum across the youtube community before the cheats and exploits were discovered. "How hard is it to just flat out weaken hook combinations while improving other punches?" Implementing Valve's Anti-cheat.. amd changing a few variables for stamina and power which in my opinion (and I think yours) is low effort in comparison, that's mainly why i think they should prioritize online and get back that momentum with the youtube community.

Agreed, they have alot of unforeseen challenges e.g. Online cheating and exploits, but the potential is sky high if they manage to fix them! Basically.. If I didn't have faith in this game being the greatest boxing game ever made, I wouldn't waste my efforts covering it! ✊🏽

they ban cheaters but judging by the amount of players with 0-0-0 records that beat me with a 35% landed record to my 65% ,when I lose 20-30% stamina in a round shows they are not doing enough. I love the game win or lose but when your stamina drops 20 % in an increasing amount of fights it become pointless. who hacked the game or is producing the the cheats which is generating profit for someone ??????? . How many years of development yet the game has been compromised so quickly ?and by so many.

Yeah, sadly the cheats are being developed and sold for upwards of $80, why people would spend money in the first place onlyspeaks to the state of people's mental health 👀 I assumed the easy fix was to implement Valve Anti-Cheat, I'd like to think in their next update they will have something implemented.

I think this was a good decision. Hook spammed will always be there but now you have the opportunity to ko them with your own well timed hook. I don't see this and think of my opponents, I see it and think of how devastating my own offense can be. Spammers will always exist which is why it's funny people feel that buffing the 1-2 is viable solution. If you can't deal with the hook, how can you expect to deal with a jab cross combo on roids? Players are asking for a solution to their problem not thinking about how it effect the game in the end. Specific characters need buffs and nerfs not the whole system.

There's always going to be cheaters on PC. The best thing the devs can do about ranked is to fix the disconnects/surrenders. Find a way for the servers to discover who causes disconnects and give them the loss they deserve.

Agreed 💯 what I don't understand is.. In the options we have "collect data" ticked automatically. That means the dev can access essentially any statistic they want, so for example they should be able to find anomalies or patterns when disconnects are happening relative to if they were knocked down, the end of the match, or between rounds. I honestly think additionally the best solution is implementing Valve Anti Cheat, it can detect changes in game files and in other games permanently blocks them.

I think there best bet is to just change the values of overpowered fighters and get the online momentum back, everyone's complaining about the same issues which are low effort resolutions compared to releasing a campaign, but for whatever reason.. No change!

Truth be told, many of the complaints regarding exploits are Value changes, not rewriting of code.. Which is primarily why changing those values now would be worth prioritising since I'd imagine its low effort.

@@ClaimerUncut You're forgetting that character balance can easily suck up all their attention, while failing to please everyone. Even if the act of making a change is low effort, the process of obtaining feedback, vetting it, testing changes, releasing, etc., can be much more difficult. And while that's happening, the people who don't care about online multiplayer are left to either wait or receive significantly less attention. Meaning you lose those players as a result. If they really want to solve the PVP problem, constantly tweaking characters isn't going to do it. They need to try pre-fight bans similar to LOL or DOTA. Add that to their system of "winning with weaker boxers gives a higher rank" and you're on the way to fixing that issue. Also, hide the Win/Loss record as a means of ranking and use points only. This way, you don't get any "clout" for just winning matches; players who win against greater odds would be placed higher than someone who just uses Ali and wins 100 fights. Which is additional incentive to use weaker boxers, in order to rank more highly on the leaderboards.

I actually hate speculating on the "Investor" part.. but something is up for sure. Case in point.. we've complained about the power of Ali's hook. 3 fast shots in a row you're dazed.. and it's downhill from there. This is simply a change in values, the coding framework is in place already, which is why it seems rational to think someone has made the call.. "Players wants to feel like superheroes when they play as Ali" ..etc

Lots of whining going on in these threads. I haven't played this game myself. I still play Fight Night Champion weekly however. No spam myself but, my opponents are a different story though. Step back straights and side step uppercuts half of my fights. The total imbalance in the effectiveness of head vs body shots. The glitching out of matches so they don't take a loss and I don't get a win either. You guy are playing a Beta version aren't you? Looks no worse than FN Champion to me. Maybe even a little better. I can't wait until I can try this game out on my Xbox Series X console. So quit whining people. At least these guys are trying to fix this game unlike what EA did with Champion.
