I think Shannon is forgetting when Aaron Rodgers lost to the Seahawks in the playoffs in 2015. The packers defense had 5 take aways and Rodgers could only muster up 22 points in a loss. Yes, defense is super crucial to the game of football but ultimately your QB needs to get the job done and time and time again Brady gets the job done while other great talents like Rodgers can't.

I think if Brady had a coach that didn’t require perfection and had a coach that was more of friendly like mike tomlin, I think Brady would struggle more (still amazing but less so) because he wants perfection but his coach wouldn’t require it. Belichick can find players that have the “perfection” mindset for Brady. Brady has to just trust that his front office will give him those players.

About equal assuming Brady ends up with a coach at least as good a GB McCarthy and Belichick ends up with at least Bortles types QB. They would have had the same number of Super Bowls but it would have been split between 2 teams. It is no surprise Rogers, Brady, Roethlisberger, Brees have won as much as they have the QB can drive winning and a good coach can effect both sides of the ball.

Heres the thing, they couldn't have won 5 superbowls without each other. Bill does the defense and keeps them in games, Brady finishes them off. That being said, the patriots went to the Superbowl like two or so years before Bill, then with that same team almost they went 5-11, then were trash until Bledsoe got hurt and Brady won the Superbowl. Brady had the 31 ranked defense in 2011 and brought that trash to the superbowl. Bill did nothing with the 90's Browns who were SUPERBOWL contenders a little bit before him. Tom Brady won wherever he went, no matter where he went he was a winner. The same cant be said for Belichick

It's clearly belichick. Not to discredit what Tom Brady does, he is the one that has gone out and performed at a high level all these years he deserves his respect. However, belichick is not only HC but GM. So he literally picks and chooses everyone that goes around Tom Brady. Belichick has been able to uphold the same system for over a decade which includes dealing with trades, salaries and drafts. All Tom has had to do was play well in that system. he doesn't need to worry about continuously building new teams and structure. Therefore 70/30 Bill. The dynasty doesn't happen without Tom but can continue without.

Belichick was 41-55 without Brady. With the Pats in 2000 he went 5-11, in 2001 he started 0-2 before Brady came in. If he didn't have Brady he may have been fired that season. That is 96 games, 6 seasons worth of games, a big sample size with a losing record. Brady is the most clutch player in any sport. If Belichick had Rodgers as they asked I don't think he has as many championships because although Rodgers is talented he isn't the leader, isn't as clutch and wouldn't play for waaay less money like Brady always does. Brady allows the team to get more players and sets the tone by taking less and never complaining as the team constantly cuts or trades away talent. Also Belichick can get away with being icy and not trying to motivate because Brady takes care of that aspect. QB's make coaches. Bill Walsch, Tony Dungy ect ect...those coaches wouldn't be hall of famers without all time great QB's. Yes Belichick is a great coach but Brady is the franchise.

Belichek. If Aaron Rodgers were on the Patriots.. He would've won just as many. It's the coaching that gets these no name players in position to win. He gets guys that work in his system and he calls the game that allows the players to use their strengths. He utilizes players strengths instead of trying to get them to do what they sent able to do. He gets them to do their job. Granted you need sb great QB to make the plays..but Aaron Rodgers or even Drew Brees could've had the same number of championships if they switched places with Tom Brady.

Against teams that finish the season with a winning record, Rodgers is 1-37 when trailing by more than a point in the 4th quarter. You're either born with it or you're not. He is essentially a .500 QB on the road. In the 2014 the Packers created 5 turnovers and Rodgers did NOTHING with them. Brady wins that game easily for Green Bay. Brees and Brady have never lost a playoff game when their D gives them more than 2 TOs let alone 5!!!

Not saying they ain't great QBs but neither of them have the drive and chip on his shoulder that Brady has! The both prepare alot but neither of them prepare as much as Brady! Manning also never was a clutch player never was good in big games not even in college! Do I think Manning or Rodgers would have not won SBs with Bill no they would but I don't think they'd have nearly as much and definitely not 5 rings and going to their 8th in a little over a week! Another factor Brady has done more with less then the Pats! Look at the Colts almost every year their first round picks went to offensive weapons! Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Edgerrin James, Joseph Addai, Anthony Gonzales, Donald Brown! That's 8 offensive weapons in 12 picks since 96 to 2010 not including the year Manning was drafted and 2004 and 2008 that they didn't have 1st round picks! that's 66% of their picks was offensive weapons built around Manning that's not including 2 offensive linemen that was draft 1st round in those 12 years to! In comparison Patriots have had 3 offensive weapons drafted in the 1st round in 18 years since 2000! Oh and 2 offensive linemen! They drafted 6 Dlinemen, 2 LBs and 2 DBs! Didn't have a pick in 2000 traded to Jets for Bill! 2008, 2013 and 2017 traded out of the first round! Rodgers has had 16 offensive picks in the top 3 round in 12 years since being drafted! Brady has had 21 in 17 years being drafted but 12 of those 16 picks was RBs, Wrs or TEs compared to Brady 13 of those being 21 picks was RBs, WRs or TEs just another example of how Rodgers teams have built around him with offensive weapons! Just one less weapon offensively for Rodgers in 5 less drafts!Just gonna throw this out there Greg Jennings, James Jones and Donald Driver the 3 main weapons in Rodgers SB team was all groomed by Farve before Rodgers started!

Jerome Powell The Patriot games that Brady didn’t play in were played by either Matt Cassel- who took the Chiefs to the playoffs with a 10-6 record.. and Jimmy Garoppolo-Who is playing very well in SF. Belichick without question. When your system is so great that you can plug in anyone at "ANY POSITION" and still have success you are the greatest coach to every live. He takes complete no names and wins championships. Matt Cassell was a back up and went 11-5 in the Patriots system, 2nd and 3rd string QBs combined went 3-1 in the Patriots system. They have never had a star running back or receiver to help win a super bowl because of the system. If the Pats had Brady but never had Belichick would the Patriots have success? If the Pats had Belichick but never had Brady would the Patriots have success? The first you question you don't know, however the second question has already proven to be successful.

Belichick has never won a super bowl as a head coach without Brady. Where were his super bowls in Cleveland? Matt Cassel threw 21 TDs-11 INTs on the 2008 Pats, but threw 27 TDs-7 INTs on the 2010 Chiefs making pro-bowl for the first time in his NFL career. Belichick got out-coached twice by Tom Coughlin in Super Bowls XLII and XLVI. Brady is the system and he's the reason why Belichick has SB wins as head coach.

Belichek is the greatest coach of all time, and its not even close. He rids of great players that don't buy into his system, and it has always worked for the better. Also the Pats always have cap room to pick up big name free agents, which they do from time to time to put them over the top. The Patriots always have the best halftime adjustments which seem to be unmatched. They have the the best 4th quarter defense in playoff history, in tall order due to their scheme and in game adjusting. Belichek likely could win just as good without Tommy boy as well. Look at the Matt Cassel year. 11-5 without Brady with a Journeyman backup that can't throw the ball over 40 yards. That season just goes to show the genius of belichek. He can easily find other ways to win with anybody playing any position. Not to say Brady doesn't deserve any credit, he definitely does, I just think Belichek could be in the same spot he is now, if he started garropolo, or even had a guy like roethlisburger, manning, rodgers, or any other great QB.

As important as Bellichick is with his great coaching. I would say that Brady deserves more credit for the New England dynasty. Brady is a QB that can recognize defenses, make adjustments and deliver the football to the open receiver. Many other quarterbacks don’t make wise decisions like he does consistently. He is able to excel at the QB position because of his talent. So those championships are more because of Brady’s skillset then Bellichick’s gameplans.
