Brian and Phil Brown interviewed me at Southend United when I worked there on a work placement, Brian always asked questions about university and actually cared about my development within football and outside it. Genuine person!

My lad's year was made by Brian, we pulled up at the lights near Portman Rd he waved to him from the bus as my lad had a Hudders shirt on. He still loves Brian and he's 40 year old now.

Best one yet for me, gutted didn't get more on Hudders. He was like a breath of fresh air with the exciting attacking football. Thankyou Brian Horton.

Brian Horton came into my mums pub shortly after leaving city. I was only maybe 10 or 11 but he talked to me about football for what felt like hours. City played some good stuff under him, and he’s an absolute gent.

I have been living in the Netherlands for over a decade now, but am originally from Hednesford area, and one of Nobby's childhood friends is a good friend of our family. Through this gent, I've met Nobby twice, whilst he was manager of Huddersfield. The second time was up at Huddersfield to watch the Baggies (lose), and we were treated brilliantly by Mr Horton, Dennis Booth and David Moss Huddersfield. It was also a day where we got to meet the King, Jeff Astle and Tony Brown, which cheered my Dad up no end.

Surprised me that Nobby is from Hednesford! Nice to see a fellow Baggie!
@Feyenoord_Albion4927 Жыл бұрын
@MitchthePunk2113 Yeah, Nobby's a top bloke. We really got VIP treatment up at the McAlpine as it was called then. We were in the middle of that infamous 13 or 14 game losing streak in 95/96 and were well beaten. We were fortunate enough be invited down to the manager's office afterwards for a beer, and as you can imagine, there was a fridge full. Alan Buckley also came down but completely ignored me and the old man. His assistant, Arthur Mann, was an absolute diamond, though, and apologised to us for having to witness "that shower of shite". Anyway, as I said, got to meet the King and Bomber, and I still treasure the programme with both their signatures on. Up the Baggies!

A great listen, remember well when he took the City job and my mates and me thought Brian who. He recruited some very attacking players, used the youth player's and saw some great stuff like 5-2 home win v a talented Spurs side. Then took my hometown team Macc Town to league 2 play offs playing great stuff. Lives locally and nearly kept the Silkmen up in 2012.

Great to hear 2 massive chunks from his time with Us,tigers fan here 45yrs,to think we nearly signed Mark Bright but the chairman wouldn't give him a big enough signing on fee,gutted he would of been a great signing for us ,up front with Billy whitehurst!!!!

Interesting about Mark Bright, you'd think butter wouldn't melt, but he was notorious for getting his retaliation in first. He did the same thing to Tony Adams when he was at Sheff Weds, elbowed Adams, Adams gets sent off for elbowing him back
@Lee_yourboylee10 ай бұрын
I remember having a conversation about hard/dirty players and I mentioned Mark Bright. My mates looked nonplussed. I said, you watch him, he loves an elbow. Over the next few weeks I had plenty of occasion to say, "See, told you so..."
