I remember going to a pre-season friendly in 99 as a 14 year old, Birmingham v Leeds, got a few of the Leeds players autographs, including Mills, was a cheeky little bastard and asked for his shirt (didn’t get it) but he was really cool with me and I’ve liked him ever since that day and enjoy listening to him in the media etc, Not long after my interaction with Mills I asked for Alfe-Inge Haaland’s autograph, completely ignored me, like I wasn’t even there, humiliated me, hated him ever since that day and was happy when Roy Keane did him in, Point being, being nice to somebody even in a brief one off meeting can have a lasting effect, Danny Mills = legend, Haaland = CVNT!

🧐 I liked Danny Mills when he played for us but not sure about him now, as he didn’t come across very well like laughing at us and the situation we were in at the time, I know he was doing the best for himself and his family but could of dropped the Leeds pay if he was being paid by 4 different clubs which might of helped us? Had a season ticket at City since 01/02 so had the displeasure of watching Mills pick up his massive wages for doing fuck all for years. From this you’d think Pearce was a shambles for us. He nearly got us into Europe - and would’ve done if Fowler hadn’t missed a penalty against Boro, the same game James was up front causing havoc - after barely surviving relegation with Keegan the season before. Mills signposted early on here that Pearce wasn’t playing him and his attitude shows it!

Mike Walker never a manager, He was poor at Everton
@ramadamming84983 ай бұрын
He was obviously a manager -- but he'd been at Norwich for many many years and knew the youth and reserves inside out. Sometimes when a manager in those days, takes a punt at a bigger club, it works, sometimes not, for all sorts of reasons. There is more to the Danny Mills thing at Norwich that what Danny says "I was subbed so I handed in my transfer" - on the contrary, he was played as he was local for a start ( albeit his parents are from London area originally I think ) but don't know what it was about that 90s era, Norwich had a few fruitcakes at that time, Keith O'Neil ( who would be spotted swanning around Norwich looking debonair but then slagged off the club / area that raised him ) Craig Bellamy and Andy Johnson as well, all seemed to be putting the cat amongst the pigeons backstage? I guess, just because you stood on a milk crate on the Barclay, did not give you the crowning right to not be subbed or talked to. Mike Walker would have known him since he was "standing on a milk crate" at Carra Rud - Walker was well respected down to earth guy, so if you live in the Norfolk zone, you know there is more to it than "being subbed" ;-) He's said some off the wall things for someone who's hometown club gave him his career and start ! Even still today, he comes out with it, who knows why. He is a bit of a persona non grata I would think at Carrow Road for that, burnt them Delia bridges. A rum do.
