My husband and I remember President Nelson sharing the story of the children dying from heart disease and President Nelson eventually sealing the family in the temple. It is miraculous!

As far as the ratio of membership to temples, I feel like we are going to suddenly get a lot of members back, and I think if the second coming is soon that it very well may be all of our ancestors who have accepted the temple ordinances, and all of the members that have passed away already who will return to the earth.

I think the special visitor experience is from the genealogy conference a couple years ago. I do remembered this talk. My uncle was operated on by him repairing a birth defect on his heart saving his life. He’s a special man to our family for that.

Yeah, I remember this. His daughter's name was the same as my sister's name. I just love Dansel as she asked him if he was done crying.....now go and do. I thought to myself, aren't I like that sometimes and then hear that voice, alright that's enough, brush yourself off and let's keep going. There is more work to do. Thanks Jared!! Sidenote...our home is getting plumbing and electricity done now and so far, still set to move back home sometime this Spring 😊.

Really, cuz our Temple seems super busy! What you need to be asking is: How many members can be in Temples all at the same time. What is the capacity of each temple and what is the membership (Ideally Temple Recommend holding membership) in that Temple's area. We might all have to go to the Temples for safety. It might be the only safe place to be at some point.

I live in UT and I would say all it takes is one big change to quickly need more temples. A number of years ago when new films first come out the lines were unbelievably long, wrapping around in the halls and locker rooms. Everyone wanted to attend now so they could see the films. With reservations it doesn't get that bad, but when the temples first reopened you couldn't find anything available. Now I have no problem getting into a session. If the Lord suddenly appears to members at the temple, like he did in Bountiful in the Book of Mormon, once the word gets out there would be throngs of members wanting to come in. I would say we still don't have enough temples to support all the members if they were more faithful in going. The Lord is preparing His people for his second coming and attending the temple is not a once in a lifetime event.

I havent watched the video yet so this isn’t a reflection on your video Jared! I also haven’t ever used Grok but I have done ChatGPT. I don’t like using ChatGPT for church/scripture related stuff because it has flat out lied to me many times, about many topics. Recently it told me that president Nelson said a quote that he didn’t say! It attributed it to one of his talks but it got the year of the talk wrong, twice! And the quote wasn’t in the talk. It also got questions wrong that I was asking about the kings in the book of ether. I’m very leery now.

Right. I wouldn't use it for answer to gospel questions. I would use it the way that I did in the video to help me find sources that I can verify myself. 🌻🎄🌻🎄🌻🎄🌻

Yes I don't and will never use chatgpt or AI in Ludington fir church. Right now it may appear to be OK bit that is onky to get people to tryst it abd get hooked in it. I've been strongly ked by the Holy Ghost to stay away ftom AI, yo stick wuth the s ruptures and prayer. That's what I'm going to do you can't dabble in anything directed by Satan and his minions. Just my deepest feelings and and belief. Thus AI will become very dangerous and will be used yo control people in every aspect of our lives.

@@ChristianHomesteader Yes, you definitely know how to use it correctly. I worry for others who don’t realize that sometimes it completely makes stuff up and passes it off as truth.

I suspect, for a while, many temples will be far under-utilized. We aren’t building them, necessarily, for how much they will be used now (though where they are built now is certainly influenced by current utilization). They will all be PACKED come the Millennium.

The Billings Temple is expecting to lose both patrons and workers when the Cody Wyo Temple goes live, but that Temple will be easily available for about 15,000 people, where Billings is available for perhaps 80,000. I need to stress that I don't have any real numbers, only what the Spirit is indicating. When the Billings Temple was announced, there were many hurt feelings in the Cody-Lovell WY area, that THEY didn't get a Temple. But... the Billings area has experienced incredible growth during the interim, and we now have 4 Stakes in Billings, where the Bighorn Basin (Cody-Lovell) has been almost stagnant, with only a couple Wards added in the interim. Flatly stated, they couldn't really justify a large Temple, but maybe one of the smaller ones. The fly in the ointment is that many of the Billings patrons are from the Bighorn Basin. There are lots of 9 and 11 County Wyoming plates in the parking lot. Those are the county numbers that encompass most of the Bighorn Basin. Time will tell where it all settles out, but with Temples in Billings and Casper, and soon in Cody, and that's just within 350 miles of Billings, it's becoming obvious (to me at least), that the ultimate objective is to get sufficient Temples in an area, to cover the demand. There are more Temples in Montana than just Billings! And we may yet see another Temple announced in the Billings area. We'll have to see, I guess. The number of, and size of Temples is set by the perceived demand. Billings isn't anywhere close to being overwhelmed, so I expect that it'll be years before another one is needed. Thanks for your video! It was thought-provoking!

@PhyllisSpeirs-j3h12 күн бұрын
Jared, there is one factor that does not fit your calculations. The purpose of building so many temples is to bring them closer to the people. By doing that instead of people being able to maybe go to the temple once in their lifetime, they can go to on a regular basis. President Nelson is encouraging us to attend the temple more often to strengthen us individually as well as collectively to prepare for what is coming. Could it be more about availability than ratios?

That's possible, but then there's statements like this: President Russell M. Nelson President of the Church We’re just at the exponential phase of growth. And it will continue. The Lord has said, “I will hasten my work in its time.” And He makes good on His promises. My dear friends, we are witnesses to the process of restoration. If you think the Church is fully restored, you’re just seeing the beginning. There’s much more to come. Wait until next year, and then the next year. Eat your vitamins, get your rest. It’s going to be exciting! Russell M. Nelson, Facebook, Nov. 1, 2018.

A great deal of the membership of the church live quite a ways from temples. I don't think temple to total membership is very helpful. It would be more meaningful to figure out how many saints it takes to work in and run each temple, and how many attending members are generally needed to keep a temple going in terms of patrons.
