I do have to ponder, however, at the fact that there are plenty of non-profits, which the church works with, to fulfill commandments of God, such as feeding the hungry and poor. In that sense, he is incorrect, since fulfilling that commandment and serving others can and will influence your life after death, whether in this church organization or in another. Otherwise, by his logic, it was completely pointless of me to volunteer at other organizations while I was a missionary.

40 years is a looooonnnggg time to serve in the administration of the church. Anyone who has had a calling knows the weight of it. Not to mention the supporting family members. Its a LOT of work. But oh how grateful i am for the sacrifice and love of these amazing men and women! We think its hard to be the nursery leader or elders quorum president or bishop or even stake president, but these good men literally don't get released from their callings till death! How grateful i am for their dedication and service! I know the Lord truly calls each person to service in their own special ways. And our temples are part of it all, going there we can really understand who we are and what path the Lord has planned for us individually. His plan is true and beautiful, and encompasses us all, no matter who we are or where we are. ❤❤❤❤❤

Yes, but a Gen. Auth. Is a full time job and surrounded by other Gen Auth. Much easier to serve in this manner. We face the challenges of working in the world every day for our bread. That is a cool story, and I'm very happy for you! I will never try to dismiss someone's faith and belief. I do have a question though. How do you distinguish the difference between someone who has broke their back, nearly becoming paralyzedas, then healed as Mormon, vs someone who went through the same thing, and healed as a non Mormon? I have 8 cages, 8 rods, 5 fused vertebrates, and 3 fully replaced disc's. I was on a fine line from being paralyzed from the waste down, and even after surgery, for a week, I was a high risk. I had zero idea of who Mormons were at the time. That was in 2013. In 2021 I was baptized into the Mormon church. Still love it to this day. I hear others say the same thing as you do, and some of them thought I'd agree with rhat type of statement like yours, but I can't. Sorry for rambling, but when I hear claims like that made, I am always curious as to why and or how they have come to believe how they do. Don't have to respond, I'm just bored. lol 😁

I have been a member of the church most of my life. I am a recommend holder. But something we hear about in the temple namely "as it has been explained to you" came up in my mind as I watched this talk from president Nelson. "Priesthood keys" has literally never been explained to me...rather it's been tossed around fairly frivolously along with "power" and with it i feel that there's this silent hope among us that we'll somehow understand what is actually being talked about. I have received actual keys to my ward building due to my calling and they are tools which unlock opportunities which were once locked, inaccessible. What tools are president Nelson referring to in order for one to unlock and make accessible? Are they just bestowing of a responsibility?! Permissions!? Countless privileges?! And for those who have this key or that, or these sets of keys or those...what exactly are they unlocking for the loving devoted service of the Lord and his children that someone else couldn't do unless they had these keys?! I am so thankful for the fruit God is bearing for me as I receive those He sent. Jesus' test to know true prophets (by their fruits) is truly inspired. Some say to test prophets by their prophesies (Deut 18:22) but this is inferior to Christ's true test of a prophet (Matt 7:15-20) because non-prophets and those not worth following have given accurate prophesies (Caiaphas - John 11:49-51; Baalam Num 22-24, just to name a few). Following the our Prophet, President Nelson during COVID saved my family spiritually because Christ was guiding His church through prophets! Paul said to the Corinthians to be followers of him (Paul) 1 Cor 4:16 and in doing so they were led in the true worship and doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ; so if we are followers of President Nelson, the Lord will guide us in these last days as we prepare for His return!! Thank you Lord!!!
