What a wonderful blessing ❣️ I managed my home until our daughter was 12 years old. The last 4 years of that I got my college degree & started working full time. I feel so privileged to have done life like I did. I worked for 30 years & retired when the needs of my family became a full time job. Our daughter was ill , & passed away in early 2019. We took on the priceless opportunity of caring for our grandsons full time, the youngest had just turned 12. We are not millionaires!!! But we are comfortable & content. I am almost 70 now and we have been able to get our oldest grandson through college & the younger one is in a private Christian school making straight A’s. God is faithful in His promises. May He bless you with fullness of life with many blessings ❤

Good for you!!!! You are so blessed to have Josh. My husband said those words to me 30 yrs ago. I've been home raising 4 kids ever since. Finances have always been tight. But we made it. I understand losing that career iddentity. It took me years to get through it. But that choice shaped us in the very best ways! Hold onto your faith . It will get you through.

Thank you for trusting us enough to tell us your very real story. I have faith that the Lord will provide you with the wisdom to make the most of this transition. I will pray for you and your family and just know I completely believe in your choice to become a stay at home mom. I know I yearned for it myself for over 18 years. I see the consequences of my life in my children's eyes. They are adults now and have found their way but I know it would have made a positive impact if I could have been at home with them.

Thank you for sharing. I’m 48 and have seriously been considering resigning from my full-time job in healthcare as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in a Skilled Nursing Facility. I am EXHAUSTED and BURNT OUT. The lack of appreciation expressed by those in higher positions in my facility is pathetically low, which goes against everything the company stands for. They don’t practice what they preach. I too feel like every day is Groundhog Day! What keeps me going is the commitment and sense of duty I feel toward the Patients I treat. This job was a career change that I made 12 years ago after spending 13 years in corporate management feeling personally unfulfilled, despite how good I was in that field. However I know I won’t be able to continue with the physical demands of the job forever. Patient demographics are becoming older, heavier, more frail, and cognitively impaired, yet the resources and equipment available in Skilled Nursing Rehab have not kept up with these changing demographics. I’m so happy that you are putting yourself first and that Josh is supportive. I believe that God provides us all with skills that are adaptable, sometimes we just need to see that. Sending prayers for you and your family - you will do this!!

Thank you for taking the time to respond! Burn out is SO SO real for me in Higher Ed as well. And yes - when you add on a lack of respect from those in authority, the grind gets even more...grindier! But when you feel like there's a purpose for your presence, it makes it worth it. Or as I say, the 'golden handcuffs'. I hope your purpose continues to be a driving force for you through those groundhog days!! And when the time is right for you to move on, that you'll be able to identify it and have the courage to step forward!

Congratulations! I am you, 5 years down the road😜. I taught elementary school for 18 years, then had our last baby right before I turned 40. I finished out the school year and then left to be home full time. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. My identity was very much caught up in being a teacher. But, now, I could not be any happier! I truly believe God will sustain your family as He has ours. He is so good and faithful to meet us where we are and reward our obedience. I now homeschool and run a consulting business I created…things I would NEVER have imagined when I left the classroom. Can’t wait to see what God has in store for you❤

I am so happy for you! You will NEVER regret the time spent with Esther. You are in my prayers that peace and blessings are coming your way. I was a stay at home mom for the first several years of my daughter's life and a work from home mom with an outside paycheck and a flexible schedule for the next 22 years. It worked well for my family.

Congratulations!!! I know from experience that this is a hard decision to make. I did the same thing a few years ago - quit my 20 year job to start my own business. My kids are grown, not little like your daughter, but we went from a 2 income family to a 1 income plus all of the expenses of a brand new business. But taking that leap and having faith that God will help to guide you is such a rewarding experience. The day I put in my resignation I cried, I was a little scared, but then over the 6 weeks notice I gave I got more and more excited. My final day at the office I couldn't wait to get out of there and start the next chapter of my life. It has been a tough road but oh so rewarding! Cheers to you and your family - you got this girl 🎉

So excited for you! God is faithful and you will flourish! I had a kind of identity crisis when I quit my job in my 40’s. I found I was identifying who I was with my job and I had to relearn who I was in Christ and outside of a work identity. It was a good step for me.

I applaud you for making this hard but amazing decision. I was a stay-at-home mom once we had our first child. We never had a lot of money, but we had enough. We always had food, shelter, clothing, and each other. We worked hard in our pre-child years so we could do that (we waited almost 10 years to have him). I was so blessed. My husband was happier and less stressed. I pray for your peace of heart AND the big adjustment this will be for you.

Thank you for sharing. I love your channel and the inspiration and encouragement that you have brought to my life. I went part time at the end of last year to have more time with my daughter, for myself and to help build our business. It was so worth it and I have to agree having the time to spend more time with God in his word and I. Prayer has been a game changer for me. Trusting him that he will provide when we need and leaning on him is so amazing. Having a heavenly father who loves and cares for us so much to provide us what we need just at the moment we need it is so amazing. You have an amazing community here. I can't wait to see what is in the next chapter. Give that baby girl of yours a hug.

Thank you for sharing. I too (years ago) quit my great paying job as a clothing buyer for a regional chain store. I was seeing my kids grow and missing so many moments. So I quit and became a stay at home mom. 4 kids and I did what!! But Jack and I cut corners and prayed. Our minister said to me every Sunday. “You need to drive school bus” I would laugh and say ahhh no way. Well money was tight and during the day when kids are in school maybe I should get a job. I went from a clothing buyer to a school bus driver !!! Friends thought I lost it! But you know it’s what I needed and didn’t even realize it. How intwined my job was with school and my own children. My kids lives were there for me to watch them grow, struggle and achieve in school settings. I was part time paraprofessional during the off hours of bus driving. And it fulfilled me completely. And well I’ve been driving school bus for 32 year and no plans to of leaving anytime soon. So if something unexpected pops up down the road…God works in mysterious ways. Praying for you and yours

We have 3 children, now 25, 27 & 30 and believe me, any time that you can spend with your children is never wasted. As an SLP, I totally understand having your identity wrapped up in your profession! I have struggled since basically being shoved out , probably because I was at the top of the pay scale… after being set up to fail by a new administrator- that’s another story - Any time that I spent with my children was worth it as they have become responsible successful individuals! Yet I wish I’d have been able to spend more time with them and with my being comfortable in my own skin. You can never get back that time that you will be spending with her. I am here to demonstrate that yes, you can go back to work, it may take time… I have found two fantastic part time jobs that make me feel alive again but still have some much needed time to work on me mentally, spiritually, and to discover what gives me peace and happiness. No regrets, blessings and prayers for this next journey! BTW - I LOVE your You tube name!

Im so happy for you and proud of you making sacrifices for the health of you, your daughter and your family. My husband and i were both high school teachers when i got pregnant with our first kid. So i left teaching and he entered into administration. We were not the financially secure type to afford me staying home, but my kids did not lack for need. We struggled most of their young childhood to keep up with others, but it was worth it and i would do it again. I loved teaching and missed my job dearly, but now looking back on my stay at home life, i miss that time even more. I will be praying for you and I am excited to see how God shows up and shows off. I encouraged my sister to finally retire. She has been a single mom and grandma since her teens. Always taking care of someone else. I'm happy to say she did. She recently moved closer to my niece and to there church. She is so much more happier. And she finally gets to live her life for herself. Without having anyone to take care of for the first in decades but herself. I've wanted that for her. And I think we can actually be able to see each other more now. She is in distance further. But in a lot of ways way closer. I hope this next stage in your life brings you the same peace and quality of life too. Know in your heart you are doing what is best for you. And don't let anyone step on that. Live your life in the best way you can to please God, you, and make you the best complete person for you, him, and your family. Make yourself happy spiritually, emotionally, psychologically, mentally, and physically the best you can. And be content in being that person. So your happiness never waivers. That's what counts and matters above all else. I wish you all that in in life. God bless and forge on in strength.

I made that same decision years ago. It was so hard to give up my income as a computer programmer. My kids were not babies when I quit my job. Other moms quit their jobs when they had babies, then went back to work when the kids were in school. I did the opposite. And I also, at the time, decided to homeschool them. I never regretted a thing. One word of advice I have for you is to allow yourself some grace and time. In the homeschool world, there is a philosophy that you should give your kid(s) one month per year that they were in public school to decompress. For that time, do fun things, read to them or let them read as much as they want, play, whatever is needed to make the adjustment. I would suggest you do the same for yourself. Don't make any major decisions for awhile. Don't think you should constantly be working now that you have time to do things (like organizing, cleaning, expanding your channel, starting a business, etc). Take time for you. Take time to just have fun with your family. You can always add work a little at a time. Blessings to you as you enter this new chapter of life.

One other thing…my oldest sister (I’m one of 15 😁) has been trying to get me to close my business and start homeschooling my son. I hear her, but I’m so scared given everything that happened with my husband almost 2 yrs ago leaving him unemployed (that’s a whole other story in itself). I’m just nervous but the mom guilt is so REAL because I’m 100% not where i need to be with my faith, mental health, family, and especially my son. It’s something I continue to pray about and seeing this video is just another sign that God is hearing my prayers and showing me that I’m not alone. Loss of employment of my spouse - or fear of loss of employment - was one thing that prevented me from quitting when Esther was first born. It's only now at the 16 month mark afterwards, where I've been able to let that go and just trust God with our livelihood! I think that's really a testimony to trusting God in the TIMING of your life and drawing closer to Him so that you can hear what He has for you. You are absolutely NOT alone girl!!! Keep praying for peace and direction, and don't let anyone convince you of actions you should or shouldn't take. If you draw nearer to Him, He will eclipse your fear with hope ❤ and that hope will give you courage!

I believe everyone needs to go with what they feel sometimes, it may not be totally logical or practice on paper but if it feel right for what ever reasons you need to go for it. Remember as one chapter closes it provides opportunities for big brighter and other opportunities to be received. I say go for it. As well it will be so much easier as you have Josh to support you and Esta not only financially but emotionally and lovingly. Just remember “Team work makes the DREAM work “. I really wish you all the best and every success, as they say you need money to make the world go round but there is more important things In life that money cant buy. I applaud you for taking this leap of faith an I say go for it xx

Thank you for sharing this Elizabeth. This took a lot for you to tell us and I certainly appreciate the courage this took. It was obviously a decision you and Josh discussed and you’ve prayed on. I was lucky enough to have my Mom home for a few years after her job became redundant. Now I realize this is different because you chose resignation but it was hard for her to decide to stay home. She’s always contributed to our family and her work, like yours was part of her identity for 25 years. My Mom had me 11 years after my two brothers and she lost her job right before they were to start university. Thank goodness when have our faith and God provided. As someone that benefited from my Mom being at home, I cherished that she could pick me up from school; that she could go in school trips; that she could make our lunches sometimes; that she would greet me when I got home from school. It was so special. It will take time for you to love it and trust me, as a “stay at home Mom” you are so much more. God bless you in this new chapter in your life.

Good for you Elizabeth! I get the whole identity thing. When my kids were little, I stayed home with them until my youngest went to kindergarten. That was my dream, and we made it happen! Then later I worked at an elementary school as a paraeducator for special needs children. This was the best job I ever had. Like you, I was very good at my job, and I loved it! However, in 2018, there were some circumstances in my life that have required me to be at home again. I missed my job, identity, all my teacher friends/family so badly. It took years to get over it. I would suggest keeping in touch with a handful of your friends from work and nurturing those friendships with coffee dates, and lunch dates once in a while. It will be good for your transition to keep some of that life/identity still there with you for a while. I think you are making an excellent choice!!! Even before Ester was born, you have been beyond the moon in love with her. I think God is working through your husband to put the finishing touches on this to make this work or your family. God bless you all! I am really happy for you Elizabeth! 💕

WHAT A BLESSING that you can stay at home with Esther! They grow up in a blink of an eye and you can’t get that time back so for you to be able to do this is amazing! I worked as a teacher and realized my 1st daughter was spending more time at daycare than with me and her daddy, so we made some financial arrangements and sacrifices and I stayed home with her and my other 2 kids when they were born! My middle daughter Rebecca had a baby (18 months old now named Elizabeth) and she realized she needed to work and get out of the house and be more than just mommy so Mimi (me), her sister, her best friend and her SIL all help her watch Elizabeth while she works. We get to spend time with her, she (El) gets to know her family members and Rebecca gets to work in the field she always wanted and is blessed to have family and not strangers care for her baby! Neither role is good or bad, it’s whatever is best for each person and you get to do what is best for you and your precious family! It will be different and at times difficult- I always thought being a SAHM and home manager was harder than working as a teacher but in the end, it was worth it! Just remember to take time for yourself in no other role than just being Elizabeth and what she loves to do! Blessings! 😊
