What kind of investments
@JayLawson15 күн бұрын
@RainingZi I was too smart for my own good at 20. When I was in my 20s starting my military career I got into options, and Penny stocks, made a lot (mid six figures) then lost it all in my early 30s. It was a tough time for me bc I got divorced too etc. So I just focused on work, and locked in on making money...became a military Chief in my early 30s and began making great money, six figures. I decided to ONLY take care of ME and invest for the long run, in tech stocks, like NVDA and Tesla (and others). I did this for ten years straight just dumped large amounts in and never sold. Now it's 15 years later (I'm 45) and about to retire military with a pension for life and a large stock portfolio (7 figure). Bottom line is believe in yourself, fail smart, stay away from get rich quick stuff, no debt, and bounce back and invest for the long run.

The only catch is that you have to work for them for a year because you owe them for getting your CDL. If you leave early, you'll have to pay for it. You don't have to do it, but it's the easier income reset for $60k-$80k a year. An income reset growth. Hopefully this helps anyone else that's reading this.

I think I’m hearing a lot of things you want to do…but there isn’t enough practical prep work to lead you there successfully. I think any form of success is built based on a solid foundation, without that, it’s easy to crumble. When I got married, I am responsible for myself and my partner financially, for today and for our future. That means I may not be able to be so flaky and jump around chasing dreams endlessly without a thorough plan that would not negatively impact our lives. While you jump around chasing every lead, you could’ve been 50 steps ahead with your feet firmly planted in one job, and building your passion project on the side in parallel.

I've been actively networking, attending conferences and industry social events, applying to jobs, and even interviewed at a few places where I got a direct referral. It's not for a lack of trying that I have not received or accepted an offer, the application process is just terrible. Ask anyone in your own circles who is currently searching for a new job.

Brother, there ain’t no way any of this is your fault. The economy is changing. And not in a good way. Companies are completely restructuring towards AI. Automation is taking away jobs from things once never thought possible. People with DECADES of experience are getting kicked to the curb like yesterday’s potato salad, even folks at the very top of the corporate ladder. No one can stop technology from completely replacing humans. It’s not a matter of if anymore, but when. The best thing we can do is keep fighting. Don’t let the machine ultimately win.
@CluelessPanther13 күн бұрын
@eugenewolf7493 I appreciate the encouraging words and the sentiment about automation. However, I will say that the AI experiment to replace humans will fail terribly. During the first industrial revolution, they said machines will replace all humans, didn't happen. Then during the computer age, they said computers will replace us all, didn't happen. Similarly, AI won't replace us all. the current greed will expose the corporate overlords, and they'll come rushing right back to us.

@CluelessPanther15 күн бұрын
@Calmly-replied111 You’re partly right, I was depressed but that lasted only 2 months. The real reason is that I was uncertain which courses would be worth pursuing. I work in the energy industry, focusing on sustainability/cleantech. Leading up to the election, investors and employers were holding off to see the outcome before they hired. I had some interviews but they all put me on hold or waitlists. I wanted to see the election outcome before restrategizing what to focus on. Career focus pivots are hard and can be confusing.

Every company is taking advantage of every way they can pay less. Black and Latin Americans born in the US are paid substantially less than their similarly experienced White counterparts. This has always been the case in America, but now even the lower level corp roles doing grunt work are now limited, as companies can get H1B employees to take those 75k -150k jobs for 50 - 75k or offshore it for 30k. Part of the issue is affluent Americans who have a legacy in Corp America are of the opinion that "hard" skills and knowledge are not valuable. The Corp culture in America rewards social acceptance and "soft" skills over knowledge. You will see being liked and part of the groups with the "chosen" people is more beneficial to career path. If you are not in these circles, your exposure to influential people within the organization will be limited. And if you are not part of that select group of employees within your organization, you will always be vulnerable, as Corp loyalty is significantly based on which senior manager likes you, and their level of influence. I advise you to rebrand yourself, lie on your resume, practice making yourself sound like you can do everything and it will be easy (think Trump), as this is what your competitors are doing. Also take this video down. Employers and headhunters are looking for stars not hard workers or people of substance and they definitely don't want anyone that has been reduced to gig work. Employers tend to feel like if no one else has hired you then something must be wrong with you. None of what I said is fair but that's how it is. Good luck.
@CluelessPanther12 күн бұрын
@mc365mc You're preaching. I can't argue with anything you said. However, I'll push back against taking this video down. I personally don't care if a headhunter sees this video and thinks that it makes me less than. This video is part of the brand I'm building long-term and it will make sense in a few years. I appreciate the candid sentiment though.

@CluelessPanther13 күн бұрын
@DavyNWK I have not specifically worked with anyone with a history of felony and I don't know too much about the restrictions that affect you. I just know that the cards are stacked against you, specifically because people will judge you by your past. What you can do is to develop a high value skill that does not require someone trusting you, but that your work will speak for itself. Something like woodwork or construction if you're good with working with your hands. You're pretty young and have your whole life ahead of you. I just watched a couple of your videos on your channel and all I'll say is that you should find other topics that will bring value to people to talk about if content creation is what you want to do.
