An explanation that makes sense. I found the width checker shown by "Durham Weaver" to be a useful when starting. Helped until I 'got my eye in'. Cheap as well (plastic milk container strip folded over took only a few minutes to make).

If you put a small piece of masking tape on your shuttle and mark the width you want your weaving to be, you can check it on every pick. Thank you to Dee Sayce for that hint, I use it all the time.

Have you seen the new LoJan Inkle loom? It is amazing. All the pegs are screwed in so you can get that good and tight tension. it has holes for a table clamp, AND it has peg stoppers. They only did a limited run and I had to wait for weeks but I ended up getting right in time for my birthday in October. ❤

Yes, I've seen them, they look very interesting. Glad you got one and love it!

I received the Lojan inkle loom for my birthday in December. Looking forward to learning all the ways to use this loom. Glad to see you will be adding this class to the Weaving School!

Thank you. This problem has vexed me for ages. I work really hard to keep my weft tension as consistent as possible, but still the edges get wider and narrower. I’ll work on my warp tension consistency.
@KellyCasanova2 күн бұрын
It takes practice! It can be helpful sometimes to warp a little extra and use the first few inches just for practicing consistency before you get right into weaving the band.
