That lake is called the Hofvijver, and is right next to the (old) parliament building the Binnenhof. It's the oldest part of the town. It used to be a remote hunting castle out in the woods, the city slowly grew around it over centuries.

Woow amazing! My home town!! When I'll be in The Hague city I will definitely try out Pide Huis. The Netherlands overall has a rich diversity of cultures but especially the big cities in the West like The Hague, Rotterdam, Amsterdam. The Turkish, Moroccan, Egyptians, afghans, Indians, Surinamese etc have enriched the Dutch culinary and we love the food. In The Hague there are a ton of places where you can eat Döner kebab, fries, shawarma, and a very famous dish "Kapsalon". Invented by Cape Verdian hairdresser in the Rotterdam. You should try it out from somewhere. And of course if you get the chance Indian food in Holland :P

Den Haag is the widow of Indië. Indië (not India) is the Dutch colony in the Indonesian archipel before the independence of Indonesia. Den Haag is and was the place from the government and many colonists( civil servants) went for their big leave after 6 years in Indië to den Haag. After decolonisaton the repatriants (refugees) were distributed over the Netherlands, but many came to stay in den Haag or went there anyway to find their families and friends.

It's kind of rare to see people use them in broad daylight. It's mostly there for after hours when people start getting drunk because we don't want them pissing all over monumental buildings and stuff and in the dark with a bunch of partygoers around it's decidedly less obvious.

Capital is not the same as hoofdstad. Our hoofdstad is Amsterdam, it is the main city. The government in in The Hague, which makes it the capital to English speakers. So it’s a matter of definition (and confusion).

Interesting choice of locations to visit.. first half of the video consists of obvious places. Second half I wouldn't necessarily be comfortable with visiting myself, at least not after dark. Area around Hollands Spoor station (9:25) is best avoided then. I have a kind of love/hate relationship with the Hague. It's a city with two faces, it has the richest and poorest neighborhoods in the country. It has cleaned up though since the '90s.

Hey Carlos! you've been to Den Hague and you had to visit the Panaroma Mesdaq ( only 1 in world..must visit), the City gates @ Delft , the Waag (WaaKh!) in Delft (live band music ) , visit the Doner platter place behind the central market.., Santos resturant @ Schevenigan Noord near the beach try the barbeque RIBs and the Soup (1st option).. ,have Ollibolens, visit the coffeshop @ Schevenigan :P ,.. try the cold sandwiches and french fRies .. for Indian Food you can go to Maharani and Bombay Palace (mutton curry awesome)... Should also go to the seawalk @ the Noord beach .. also the Chinatown in the Central market..Amazing food !

For all the Females watching this: these public toilets are ONLY available for men! If you drink something ALWAYS use the facilities toilets! Tip for all visitors of The Netherlands: land or arrive in Amsterdam and leave it ASAP! Expensive, noisy and overcrowded with tourists. Visit Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague or any other city you can find.

@@aj618 Right now all places that serve drinks or food (restaurants, cafe's and bars) are closed for at least 4 weeks (possible longer). This is due to a partial lockdown (Covid). A hotel restaurant may only serve its own guests. And after 8 PM the supermarkets can't sell any alcohol anymore. Always check the places you want to visit online. Tickets and time slots need to be reserved pre-visit. Supermarkets are usually very well stocked and sell all kinds of food and drinks. I hope these tips help you planning your trip!
