Sgt Peppers... I fell straight in love with that album as a 15 yr old in 1982. It took me to another place, a make believe world... which is where I needed to be back then, let me tell you. That and The Wall were my go to solace albums.

I have the Winchester pressing as well! Got it when it came out and still have it all these years later…I’m 55 so a bit older…recall Unchained live video was played all the time on MTV…Push comes to shove is one of my faves

EVH kicking ass and taking names on this one. Actually my favorite Beatles album growing up was The Beatles 1967-1970 The Blue Album. We wore the grooves off. Abbey Road is Great though.

My biggest unexpected audiophile record was Depeche Mode - Violator. I was expanding my music range and tastes and picked it up used it its sound blew me away.

Fair Warning such a great LP. Yes, you have the transparent virgin vinyl. All the promo copys from the LA plant are pressed on the same transparent vinyl.

Nice first episode! Waiting for a UK pressing of Some Girls by the Rolling Stones. On Saturday I went to a local audio group meeting at a hi-end dealer with my brother-in-law and heard Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section. Found a 1992 HQ-180 repress from Analog Productions via Discogs.👍👍

This is always my go-to recommendation when Van Halen comes up! Easily their most underrated album, and amongst their best sounding. I've alwas believed the obscure cover art (which was their first to not picture the band or their instantly recognizable "VH" logo) helped it fly under the radar. It actually took me several years into the '80s to discover it, but its been one of my favorites of theirs ever since.

Cover artwork is from William Kurelek's painting 'The Maze.' It was recorded at Sunset Sound like the other Van Halen albums before it. I think Unchained, Mean Street and Sinners Swing are my favorite tracks. My copy smokes as well. I need to look up the pressing info.

Awesome find at 1/2 Price! I found Billy Idol’s Charmed Life there for $10, which I never see on vinyl. Not the best album, but a unique one from Billy. Cool focus on “Fair Warning”. I don’t own that one on vinyl, I’ll have to keep my eyes out for it. I love VH and definitely Eddie was a monster! In a shopping mall in Shanghai, there’s a McDonald’s eating area with the color red and his white and black stripes. Eddie and Van Halen will live forever!

I really like the three early 80's Van Halen records. Most collections seem to skip from VH 2 to 1984 & people miss some quality material. Short 30 minute albums with lots of great harmonies & no nonsense songs. Happy Thanksgiving & RSD & Small Business Saturday !! ✌️

The cracks started to show with Diver Down, which I believe is their last good album. Fair Warning is underrated and their best, IMO.

Bob, don't kill me for this question but does Eddie Van Halen rank above Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, David Gilmore and Prince 🤔 I listened to today Freddie Hubbard - Open Sesame and Eddie Henderson - Witness To History.

Well when it comes to changing the entire face of how we play the instrument he ranks very high … Beck and Page are fairly untouchable.. Gilmore and prince are icons but Eddie changed what people believed was possible on the instrument. He’s top five important guitarist no doubt.
