What the heck happened to the Macgregor? Did they get dismasted? 7:25 they seem to be struggling with something, maybe the main sheet which may be tangled up? At 9:46 the mast is down with standing rigging still attached

Man I can’t believe the number of kids I see in these videos without life jackets on. My boat anyone under 18 wears one or doesn’t ride. Just never know what can happen.

That is not a keel-stepped mast, it just mounts on the deck. So my guess is that it was not set up (tuned) properly, and in a hard blow, they dismasted. Guess they could be considered lucky, to have had an auxillary motor on their boat.

In all these videos...am I missing something? When we had a boat(21' GW), courtesy equaled safety. Usually throttled back to 3-4 knots to just chug in. In an enclosed inlet area, usually posted SLOW SPEED, NO WAKE. IMO, poor seamanship.

I wonder if you were playing when my home was hit by Hurricanes Irene and Sandy? Stop preaching, life goes on.

How do you know some of these boats aren't coming back from the west coast after dropping off supplies?
