This is a completely unexpected exploration and once I found out about this, I had to come see it for myself!
In my next adventure I make a spur of the moment trip out to a location that I'm very familiar with, but this time, I'm seeing it in a way I've never seen before. I heard of this unexpected news on a FB group I belong to and it instantly caught my attention, so I made this a priority to get out here sooner than later. Not only will we be seeing this for the first time on my channel, but we'll see it from both land and air.

I have to say the drone footage was my favorite, with that dramatic music made it feel like watching a movie at the theatre. 2nd was a tie between the underwater footage and the refreshing sound of water pouring out of that pipe along the wooded bank. Could almost feel the coolness of it. Awesome video!! Really well done!💙👍
@michaeldomanski9352
@michaeldomanski9352 11 ай бұрын
the concrete rings around the pipe are actually weights to keep it where they laid the pipe. in times of high fast moving water they don't want it moving and causing a break.

The music you picked for the drone footage was spectacular as was the view. I wonder how old those buildings are. They all look ancient. I wish I had places to explore like that. The area is so beautiful. I would have to drive probably for hours to find a place. Your photos are great.

This unexpected explore is a gem! I love reservoirs and water related places. I loved the areal footage and the underwater footage. So exciting to see everything from far above and then dive in under the surface of the water and explore what nature treasures lie beneath. I also very much enjoyed the part of the explore with the man made waterfall/ pipe coming out of the woods. This is a beautiful place. The entire area has so many beautiful sites. -Thank you for taking us with you, JP! Looking forward to the reservoir explore of the one you mentioned in the end. 💫

It seems to me that you are right in thinking this was done for remediation. Love all the old structures and the construction of the steps and even got to see some nature's corn dogs lol! Fantastic drone and underwater footage, I was looking for some fish, it was really clear and yes you covered land, air, and water and I loved it all! Awesome unexpected explore video JP! That is such a beautiful place and the drone footage is spectacular! My guess on the concrete around the old pipe is to keep it from moving around underwater and breaking. I sure hope they leave that area like it is, they've been removing old dams and locks in my area and returning the rivers to their natural state but I don't like it they have been there for over 100 years and it's just a boring river without them. It even caused a popular ferry ride to shut down because the water isn't deep enough anymore. I wish they would just let the cool old stuff from the 1800's be.

There's already a source of water feeding into it, mostly likely mountain streams or a mixture of sources. All they need to do is shut the valve that is draining and it will fill up naturally.

It looks so different there without the normal water. I remember the video you made 3 years ago. It doesn't seam like it's been that long ago. I wonder if where the water is gushing in, there was maybe a collapse on that wall? They had to drain it to fix it. I am just guessing... that is about all I can think of...great video. At times during the aerial footage around those old buildings it looked like you were around an old castle. Lol. I wonder how long it will take to fill. ✌

I wonder if the pipe that has the water coming out is how they fill the lake. Or maybe it’s a run off pipe for something
@JPVideos81
@JPVideos81 Жыл бұрын
I could be wrong, but I believe the pipe with water draining out is how they drain the lake. It's a way for water to continue flowing once it gets below the spillway. There's most likely an opening or intake somewhere beneath the surface closer to where that foundation is in the water.

I know that you made the comment in the middle of your video that some people say this is boring you're just walking around a dried-up Lake. But I'm one of those people, and myself would disagree with that. You never know what you're going to find and like you said it's another landscaper, or world that you would normally wouldn't have access. As a child I explored quarries that were filled with water and other bodies of water I was always fascinated water Maybe because I'm a Pisces also. My favorite part was the back of the reservoir and you found that spring or whatever. And speaking of water I love underwater footage . Whenever you say that you're going to show it possibly I can't wait to see it. Also the Drone footage and seeing the abandoned railroad Trestle at first I thought is that the railroad Trestle that I seen earlier this week? Then I seen the stream going past it and the active railroad line and there was no doubting that that's what it was. As far as a reason that it was drained was probably for maintenance. I live near a park and Lebanon PA called Stover's Dam. And once in awhile they drain it significantly several feet and that is for the Army of Corps Engineers to inspect at them cuz they built them. That's my two cents, whatever it's worth. 🙂👍 I enjoy everything that you do keep up the great work and it's always stay safe healthy and God bless you, your family, friends and anyone that watches your videos including subscribers. Take care and I look for the next video✝️❤️🇺🇲🙂
