My father was a fisheries biologist and I grew up doing what you do on your channel and now that I’m older ( late 50’s) it is more important than ever. Keep up the good work.

Probably a uni to uni knot. (Double uni) There's a million videos if you search it. But I'm sure there might be other kinds of knots for that but that's the most common. Hopefully that helps. Sorry I'm not a John lol

Watauga is beautiful! Deep, clear, and cold! Has some monster smallies in it. Swimbaits are one of the go to lures there usually big rainbow trout colored ones, if not swimbaits jerkbaits are killer to. Glad your enjoying your time here man I love it! Thanks for the shout out for Just Fishin' they are really awesome people and carry a lot of stuff others don't. All the things here now are temporary and our life is just a flash, a blink in time. You provide amazing content for people that may never get to experience these things themselves and your message I am sure has helped thousands of people and probably saved many lives, brought people out of the dark and toward the light, off that wide and easy path of sin and down the narrow and difficult path of righteousness. This is a few miles from where I am from (Roan Mountain). I have went swimming many a time at this lake during the summers, we'd have a rope swing tied to a tree until whomever would find it and cut it down for fear we would get hurt lol. Hope you have had a great trip up there!

We have used the Yum craws and they have been great. I usually don't use weights with them. You can fill the cavity in them with fish attractant. I use power bait bass attractant. If you need weight try pin weights.

One thing that I've come across that I like, is the Berkeley Gulp Minnows, either 2 1/2 or 3 inches long. They have a great scent to 'em, to get them fish, especially the Bass, to strike. I've used 'em for probably 4-5 years, and I've had more success with them, than any other soft lure that I've ever used in my life! They can catch some fish, now. Another thing that I love to do, is take regular Nightcrawlers, and rig 'em up, Texas Rig style. You'll go through a lot of 'em, because of Sunfish nipping and biting at 'em, but when you hook into a big ole Bass, or a good-sized Catfish...or even a Trout, that makes it all worthwhile. Also:I noticed that you mentioned pin-weights. I'm definitely going to have to look into those, too. Thanks for mentioning those! I'll give 'em a try!

If you haven't tried the gulp hellgrammite you might want to try that. They are awesome. They're scented also they make a gulp minnow and they are scented as well they are about close to $5 for 12 pack have 3-inch hellgrammites. And those a gulp minnows they are so realistic. Caught a ton of smallmouth off both of them.
