The narrator said that there was absolutely no life in this area of the ocean, until he saw the Greenland shark of course. However, I must respectfully disagree. I saw plenty of life swimming around in front of the camera. I will admit that most of the life I saw was small but it was still life.

I love how there are all these people who are talking crap about why he got excited and thing it was stupid when the description literally says, "A National Geographic researcher is startled to see a Greenland shark where none has ever been seen before: off Russia's Franz Josef Land. An underwater camera captured images of the shark, a species scientists know very little about." I'd pretty pretty damn excited if I was him too and I saw a greenland shark. Hell, I got excited just watching it now, not as much as him because he's more into the whole thing than I am.

Do they not have the ingenuity and intelligence to make a four directional camera? One that can record all sides simultaneously? Seems wasteful to use one directional camera's in the Ocean. When you can make them look up down, left right, straight and behind. You'd learn so much more from that. not to mention using robotics and a controller to make it maneuverable so that you can look for things. Hell you might even find Davy Jones Locker!!!
@vSTRENGTHINFINITEv10 жыл бұрын
They can ... and they do... but they are just more expensive -- and they are already usually dealing with smaller budgets. And those budgets have to pay for the trip, the gas for the boats, the food, the scientists... etc.. etc.. It's just a a budget thing.

OK, going by his job - operating the drop camera - one might assume he doesn't have a biological background; in which case it's understandable, if still disheartening, when he says that there was no sign of life until the shark appeared. For future reference, dude: small but visible fish and plankton life are also living things too, as fascinating as any other in their own way :)

oya they have knowledge but you don't have. do you know how deep that is i think if you were their instead of that cam recorder than things would be different. consider these points. 1. Too Deep for humans to go, they would crushed. 2. by the pressure of water alone. 3. the darkness hides the predators. these cameras are expensive made to hold in pits of this huge ocean.
