Well, I think you sold me on this game. I was kind of on the fence before, but after watching your clear and concise playthrough, I think I will add this to my wishlist. Thanks for doing such as amazing job!

Very thorough overview and an excellent explanation. I really want to get this game. Brings me back to the days of Rollercoaster Tycoon.

My son played the heck out of rollercoaster tycoon on the pc with windows xp, haha... but nothing like the dozen zoos created on zoo tycoon ! (-:

Zooleretto, of course!!! But they need to "Unfair-ize" it. Imagine: dinosaurs, broken cages... no, I'll stop there.

Jon, I really enjoy your channel, and your playthroughs are good. However, I personally think that your rules & reviews are much better - I really appreciate your format of positive and negative points. Please keep up the good work!!

Glad to see you clarified the Thrill Ride Blueprint issue. I was so confused last video. I cant wait to get this game! Love seeing all the Kickstarter stretch goals being met.

At 1:22:00 you flip over all of blue's attractions, but the Monorail has a built in Guest Services Upgrade.

Loving this video, thank you! I have a question about 10:15 - what happened with the jump cut? We didn't get to see the other event card or which one you chose! Maybe it's not important, but I guess I was invested in the scene. :)

Unfortunately I am not sure, I made the video too long ago to remember. I am glad you enjoyed it :)

I cant decide between getting this or the more rules-light version Funfair for my group. Funfair is much simpler to teach and less mean, but Unfair just seems better in every way, I cant decide!

Great Video Jon... One question, at 58:42 you get to Draw a card for building the Information Kiosk... are you allowed to Draw from the display? I though when it said Draw you had to do it from the Deck Thanks for the video
@JonGetsGames8 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I'm not completely sure to be honest. The card said "Draw a Park card" and since those on display are Park cards I figured it was fine. It is possible that it could be interpreted differently.

At 1:27.21 when you build the lockers and coat check, would that not have been half price as you played renovations and it was closed?
@JonGetsGames8 жыл бұрын
Good catch! I didn't realize it affected all closed attractions vs just the attraction closed by the Renovation action. I'll add a note about it, thanks :)
@CatherinePuce8 жыл бұрын
Nice play through. By the way, you close the monorail in the eight turn but it had a built-in guest service. It should stay open. It would have be vital to win since they were just two points behind the winner.

I would love to see another video and new game to see the differences in playthroughs.
@JonGetsGames8 жыл бұрын
I don't think I've ever seen someone do multiple playthroughs for a game for comparison purposes, this is likely due to the time commitment. This video took me ~12 hours to make and there are so many other games that want my attention too :)
@jealousheavens8 жыл бұрын
I was more just wishful thinking :) Hopefully more playthroughs will come to satisfy me until i get my hands on the actual game!

1:22:02 doesn't the monorail have a built-in guest services upgrade?

Did you feel any balance issues regarding the worth of money as victory points? Would it be too easy to simply attempt to earn the most money for your win as opposed to the building of your park (which seems like it should be the primary activity in this)?
@JonGetsGames8 жыл бұрын
I imagine this is one of the reasons you have a 15 capacity limit, so in order to make more money you have to use staff members and event effects. The 2:1 ratio is quite good, but even so it still seemed that building most upgrades would create more points than just hoarding money. The super expensive ones are much more situational, I imagine those only make sense when going for specific blueprints which can have huge payouts.
@alienslysly8 жыл бұрын
Was thinking about this question as well, and your answer makes sense :) When it comes to the larger upgrades, in a way it's a balance of action efficiency vs risk & cost. Pros for larger upgrades : abilities, more stars & sometimes icons, & cost less action to achieve the 15 capacity limit Cons: bigger target for take that, cost more As the game progresses the cost becomes more, due to less turns for stars to shine. It creates an interesting dynamic really, where during the 1st half when $ is plentiful, smaller upgrades are discarded since they don't provide much; whereas during the 2nd half, large upgrades cost too much 'points' for just 1 icon.

The pirate super attraction seems to not scale well. It would have the potential to be much better in a 4 player game than a 2 player game. Thoughts?
@JonGetsGames8 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that with each new player you add another theme deck into the game, so in a 4p game the pirate theme upgrades would be even more mixed up with a bigger deck and the overall number of these theme upgrades is fixed since they only come in that one theme deck.

Excellent play through. Only one comment... you tend to speak with your hands, which helps when viewed from afar, but when you were trying to focus on describing a card, which draws the watcher into reading the card, this was very difficult to do as you were moving the cards about quite a bit. I would ask that you try and keep your hands still when the watcher is meant to focus on the card and its text. Otherwise, very well done!
@JonGetsGames8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback Nicholas, you are completely correct. I used to put the card on the table and focus on it but for saving time's sake I started just holding the card to the camera. It really does shake around more than I'd like, I'll try to focus on either being more steady with my hands or simply spending the time to focus on a card laying on the table. Sorry this made it harder to read the cards and get the full experience.

There were some audio glitches in the first 13m of the video I posted yesterday, so I fixed them and reuploaded this video. It's functionally the same, but a better experience to watch and I was able to add some gameplay corrections that people spotted in yesterday's video as well.
