Hey Man Vs Meeple! This is the first video I’ve watched of yours and I have to say it was an instant subscribe to your channel! I watch so many different youtube boardgame reviews and this is the best one I’ve EVER watched! While I generally fall asleep in other reviewers “gameplay overview” section of the review and just skip straight to final thoughts, I really enjoyed how you mixed it with your thoughts of the game. Had a chance to play this yesterday at the Good Games store in Indy. It's a blast! I really like building up the park's attractions and upgrades in the FunFair half of the game and dealing with the collapse in the unFair portion of the game. Gameplay went really smooth with two players. The blueprints can really help guide your selections, but they can have you fishing for that one upgrade for a while. My tip is try not to get too pigeonholed into a blueprint too early. The art and theme is great. Love all the little things like the flavor text and whimsical names for different upgrades. Great video as always, gents.

Fantastic review that tempted me, a non- take that fan, into looking at this take that game! Though the theme & artwork definitely contributed some as well :P Couple of questions though, that is a) have you guys tried it with only 2p? If so how was the game? b) How significant are the take-that elements in this game? ie will players who spent turns building their attraction find it being demolished by just 1 event card? Or are there like 3 'attack' cards to 1 'defense' card? c) While I understand that most of the variety effects come from the super attraction & staff, how about the normal attractions? Do some (or very few) of them offer special abilities? Or are they just 'generic point accumulators' ? ... Okay maybe that's a lot of questions :x Still thanks for the awesome review!

You said that the 'take that' aspect of the game is well implemented and you also mentioned that the scenario that disallowes the bottom half of the event cards takes away too much of the game to be an interesting option: Do you think that the bottom and top halves of the event cards are balanced to make both options viable?

the First Date scenario removes some of the unfair city cards. It's a great way to play your first game. It helped us learn the building side of the game a bit more without some of the harsher "take that" city cards.

I got the Kickstarter version that came with 6 themes. The 4 you read off and a ninja and gangster theme. This is one of my favorite games in my collection right now. It's a lot of fun.

I played this just the other night with the devs. I lost horribly unfairly, but I'll be back again to build my robotic vampire pirate themed rollercoaster with comfortable seating!

Yep I agree the sound is a vast improvement in this video. Great job on the reviw. I stopped by and watched this played a couple of time. The art and theme really brought me in. I really think this could be my type of play. I did have a couple of friends who played who thought that money was a bit too tight to make those powerful attractions. No one had any money. Coupld have been thier play. Great review make me even more excited for this Kickstarter to start.

why is the box so large for what amounts to a card game?

There's definitely a lot of room in the box. The game board takes up the box floor, but there's still plenty of room. Think of it as room for expansion themes.

The box will have room for up to 10 theme packs in it of 56 cards each + tokens and player reference sheets and more. The initial kickstarter version we pitched had 4 them packs in it as the MVP. We've added one (Ninja!) more through stretch goals, and are on the way to a 6th (Gangsters). so there will be well over 300 cards in the game, with room for at least one expansion :) This is a big replayable game.

Grats on finally isolating some of that tinny audio issue. MUCH better this go round. Of course, then the video stops at 6:01. So the sound was good for the first six minutes at least!

I am going to take your word for it on this one guys. This was our worst game of the con. But, I believe we just had a terribly taught demo experience as the guy from Good Games told us wrong about hand size, how you gain money, and events. I asked several times how to get money and the best answer he kept giving us was there are some good events. And he kept walking away while we had questions. Pretty awful experience. I am glad to hear that the game is better than we experienced because I love the theme. Did you find the card draw to be too random? By the way keep up the great work! As an fellow Hoosier in the Indianapolis area, you are doing us proud!

A bad demo can definitely ruin the experience. I felt that I gained a decent amount of money during the guest turn each round that allowed me to build some upgrades on the following turn. I did get a bit cash strapped after heavy building turns. Oh, since you said you're in indy: Check out the Good Games store in downtown (Maryland and Meridian, SE corner). They have a demo copy of the game and promo cards! I went there last night and played.

Sorry to hear about your bad demo experience David. Stop by our Indy store and have another crack at it with the delightful manager there Rob. He will look after you. I do hope that wasn't me. I was being torn 7 different ways with many things needing attention so its possible. Specially when one of our best demo guy was off sick one day :(

David Collier I just received my Kickstarter copy and I love this game! We had a blast playing it! We did not play with the take that mechanism and it was still very solid and very fun. I can't wait for more themes!

I also think that it helps that the game itself is an equal opportunity punisher. Most of the time, attractions are only closed and can reopen on the next round. It does suck when they get demolished though.

Attractions cannot be demolished, only upgrades on them can... at least in the version you played Brad ;) The Ninja theme pack allows for potential, but costly attraction destruction.
