LYRICS:
Weightless my body
Floats in eternity
Weightless beyond the Earth’s gravity
A euphoric, perpetual gaze
I taste the light of days!
Beneath a luminescent haze,
I cross the convoluted maze,
Guided by familiar sight and sound
I let go of what weighs me to the ground
Weightless my body
Floats In eternity
Weightless beyond the Earth’s gravity
A euphoric, perpetual gaze.
I taste the light of days!

... Say what you want, but nobody can write like these guys. Even if their style no longer adheres to your taste. It's still amazing in it's own right. And those who fail to acknowledge or even try to understand that are naive and should really look into their composition further than "It isn't heavy anymore". Get over it. Learn to love their new direction or stop listening to it. Nobody asked for your hate comments. I'm not 100% used to their new direction either, but its growing on me quickly and I can see this being one of my new top albums on repeat. I love their heavier stuff, but I will also probably love their new stuff just as much, if not more. They've been a huge influence on my writing as a musician, and despite the absence of syncopated open string slams, I will still listen and find new inspiration - whether my music follows the path they've chosen or not.

MCAdrien9606 Progressive Metalcore. Hardcore influnces (mainly Adrian's vocal technique) but i personally have always considered them progressive like Volumes, Structures, Erra, etc. They aren't as technical but they fit well under that. This new album has alot more ambient/grunge influence. Idk what i would consider this album to be. lol

I love that they're experimenting with their music. Adrian and Marcus don't deserve to be compared. They're in a league of their own; two unique, independent, awesome people with passionate/deep feelings about life. Old & new Northlane is stunning. 10/10. Node is my fave album of the year, running closely with some of periphery's new stuff. I remove my hoody in honour of the music.

I just can say that... this band is taking the music in a very spiritual sense, riffs are simple, but with little complex touch. Music is a culture way , culture is about methods to auto express itself. I think they are in the trying to get it.

It's crazy how a few minutes of music can just make your mind fly. I love the way this song portrays someone "floating in eternity" and it's so easy to believe because the soundtrack embraces the lyrics perfectly. I think Marcus's voice is what Northlane needed to achieve a piece like this one. Their new sound is growing on me :)

Boo-fuckin-hoo. Everyone wants to comment about how they've changed. They want to actually have a career playing music. If they can still write badass music like this and do more than break even after every tour, good on em. If you want the sound they once had, there are plenty of 30 year old metal musicians still living with their parents making late payments on their used cars. No, I'm not hating on heavier music. No, I'm not discrediting those who make heavier music and sacrifice having normal independent lives. I'm not even comparing Node to their older work. But I'm happy to see Northlane making themselves a longer and more successful music career.
@thesimguy1905

George Brand "more successful " why does change mean "more succesful"? "If you want the sound they once had, there are plenty of 30 year old metal musicians still living with their parents making late payments on their used cars. " why does not changing your overall sound mean that you are a 30 year old failure at life? I'm not even going to comment on the new album,it's pretty good (even thought I prefer their previous stuff),I'm just baffled at your logic.

George Brand You pretty much hated on heavier music and discredited those who make heavier music yes. This music is not badass at all, it's actually pretty fucking weak. It's not bad, but it's just nothing close to being powerful as the music they used to do. They didn't have to change like that to have a better career like you seem to say. They did it because they wanted to do so musically. They could've a released a strong, heavy yet melodic record like their two older records and the critics would've been great and it's wouldn't have affected their career. That's just a stupid way to think as you can't know what woul've happen if they didn't change, you're just assuming it's better this way.

+SuperBattlefieldGuy fuckgoogle. dude its not always about heaviness. amibitious goals can change over time. maybe their music career has made it to this point for a reason maybe instead of goosebumps they get a spiritual high from making stuff more from the heart in a mroe emotional sense. think outside the box. everyone wants change eventually. as long as its not to be a mainstream selll out than i see nothing wrong with it

So I used to pretty much dislike this album because of how different it is from what got me into them (Singularity). But I never give up that quick, I always see what bands are doing new. Seeing where they are today and listening to this again for the first time in years, has given me a new respect beyond anything any other band I’ve listened to puts out. They said fuck it, and did their thing, and stuck with it. And they kick ass at doing it. What I’m trying to say is Marcus, nic, and other members I can’t think of right now, thank you. For being an inspiration. Your music has truly influenced my life.

Yes, I love the old Northlane, all the way from Hollow Existence to Singularity. I had mixed feelings about this album, but now, after listening to every song one after the other on constant repeat, I now see the future of Northlane. This album will be nothing short of spectacular. I loved Adrian, but the drums, bass and guitars are still there and I can't get enough. I like the new direction Northlane has taken and I will support them no matter what they do. FAKIN' BLACKTOWN, M7.

This song is so good, best on the album. You have bands trying to become more listenable to a wider range of people. In America, they change into Nickleback/Imagine Dragons (looking at you We Came as Romans and OMAM) and in Austrailia looks like they're aiming for Karnivool, and I LOVE IT! Usually not a fan of drastic change in musical style but this is freaking fantastic.
