This is the most awakened band I ever heard. I've never heard music that's meant so much to me. From the lyrics, to even the music videos are magnificently created. I love what they stand for. I'm so glad to see someone use their talent to change the world for the better.

Gotta say this album turned much better than I expected. I love how they're not conforming to the try-hard metal elitists who complain that this "isn't heavy enough". If you want to listen to a Metalcore band that cranks out the exact same album over and over again then there's PLENTY of bands to choose from. Northlane are clearly developed musicians -- playing two-step br0downs that lost their charm way back in 2010 would only hold them back. They're at a higher level.
Prenner111 Look there's the fuccboi that's crying that the album doesn't sound like a mish mosh of generic djent.

Now that I listened to the all thing, I've got to say that Node is a great album, my favourite from Northlane so far! I love the direction they took, it's a lot more personal than the first two albums and you can't deny it! In my humble opinion, both on Discoveries and Singularity there were a lot of "generic-core" songs that prevented me to fully enjoy those albums, whereas on Node there's no such thing. There's no filler, only great songs, every song has a purpose and I love it.
@drumsdc1309 жыл бұрын
Matteo B i agree with you in terms of their new direction is very good and i rly support it but you saying that in Discoveries or SIngularity there were generic core songs is absurd. Northlane is one of the most original and diversed bands i've ever heard
@hersheyholman51329 жыл бұрын
I understand where you got genericore with the previous albums, but they were still killer albums. Singularity had no fillers what so ever man! Discoveries was generic but still great and Node is just completely separated them for any band in their scene, it's beautiful

This is probably the best song I have heard in quite a while from any band in this scene, and I was amazed by Earthwalker/Skydancer and all of Northlane's previous works with Adrian. With that being said: Like it or not, these guys have succeeded tremendously doing what they love and no one commenting here is gonna take that from them. They already had a strong foothold, now I think they are really gonna start to shine! Much love Northlane \m/
@GenIXc5009 жыл бұрын
And on top of that, they even spelled it out for everyone with this song..."no maps to guide us, no compass beside us"...."We're not defined by a blue print if we rewrite the plans."...they aren't following any guidelines set for them by a record label or the genre in general...they're doing what feels right to them and going where it takes them. "The greater sacrifice grants the greatest gift in life."

I very much believe that as a fan, an appreciator of artist's works, I listen to a band not because they make music that I like, but because they make music that they themselves like, and I do. I can appreciate the direction this band's been moving in since Discoveries (that and Singularity are 2 albums that I often replay even in 2015). I'm not trying to act like I know NL or whatever, but I assume they've been trying to incorporate a DLC and Karnivool type vibe into their style and if that's their decision, I can live with that. I just hope that you all in NL know that you do still have fans that long for that masterful attack/bite your riffs had on Discoveries!

So I used to pretty much dislike this album because of how different it is from what got me into them (Singularity). But I never give up that quick, I always see what bands are doing new. Seeing where they are today and listening to this again for the first time in years, has given me a new respect beyond anything any other band I’ve listened to puts out. They said fuck it, and did their thing, and stuck with it. And they kick ass at doing it. What I’m trying to say is Marcus, nic, and other members I can’t think of right now, thank you. For being an inspiration. Your music has truly influenced my life.

evanpotter Yeah the lyrical structuring on Node is kinda bothering me a bit. Might be that I was just used to Adrian's writing. But adrian sure had a gift for it like you said
@JTMConceptions9 жыл бұрын
I3ULL3T96 The lyrics on this album are actually pretty well written in terms of writing. He uses more literary techniques that adrian didn't use, such as alliteration, especially in this song. Although, I feel it does fall short when compared to Adrian's lyrics because of the topics he chose. Adrian wrote so much more personally and put more emotion into it. He created images with his lyrics. The lyrics on this album just seem like a lot of propaganda. With common themes like "save earth" "the environment is dying" "social media is equally good and bad", and it gets old. We want to relate with the lyrics, not get preached at with social propaganda.
