I like specially for gluing the fabfilter eq because you can see correlation of both tracks, however there are other things like resonances which should be taken care of. A more cheaper solution would be maybe reso by masteringthemix or gulfoss eq without touching any costly convolution. From the physical perspective a sound which is recorded in the room contains the reflections and damping, it is not so easy to be emulated with a regular eq plugin.

This was extremely compelling. Would LOVE to discover more ways to do this, and similar things to this.

Man, I really love the zynaptiq plug-ins and their UI, but they are not only expensive, but also use so much CPU. However, Unveil is really, really good for loud EDM, because you can just make sounds so loud with it. I use that and Intensity for some of my basses if they need some more oomph. Anyway, really cool usage for Unfilter, the two pianos sound really good together

I have this plugin, almost never use it either but now I gotta try out that IR Response trick.
@PolarityMusic2 ай бұрын
it's also dope on the master or single instruments for mixing, to remove resonces. 👍

@@PolarityMusic Appreciate the tip. Time to blow the dust off of it😆

Thanks for presenting a usage of tyhis plugin that I never considered. This things fantastic! It's just that Zynaptiq's price is just in unobtainium tier. Is there any other plugin out there that could make an IR response out of a reverse engineered file like this one?
@GeorgeLocke2 ай бұрын
There's a really vast array of uses for convolution beyond reverb.

Could you use the impulse response .wav/convolution method to invert the processed signal, similar to the intensity control in the Unfilter plugin, effectively creating a standalone Bitwig version?
@PolarityMusic2 ай бұрын
If you can single out the process (which you cant with a record), and if you could inverse the filter response (which is not that easy without fft i guess) then yes 😅

Oh wow. Really interesting way of applying a filter curve to match a recording.

nice one! love and use unfilter but had no idea it had that IR export feature for some reason

Hey man! how we can export stems easily with master-fx on?
@PolarityMusic2 ай бұрын
file -> export audio -> select the channels in the left column (shift+click, ctrl+click), dont select "master channel"

@@PolarityMusic thank you! but Bitwig does not have the function like Ableton in export settings. there's still no master effects on the stems. that's weird
@PolarityMusic2 ай бұрын
yes, because it makes no sense. why would anyone want to export stems with master fx on? lol

@@PolarityMusic I've read some reddit posts about this before. many clients’ need it

for what? stems send through the master fx, completly alters the sound of the sum. where did you read that? send me a link please.

Is there any other way you can create IRs with this method? I'm sure there's something else out there that can do that analysis.

If it filters out ressonance does that mean it's like soothe2?
@PolarityMusic2 ай бұрын
No. Soothe reacts in real-time to all incoming frequencies. This plugin, however, only targets static resonances that don’t change when the music changes and then applies a static EQ to them.

@@PolarityMusic for pro level in depth tools yes, their reverb is nice, I know someone owning pitchmap, I myself have no use. But audiothing has a nice convolution reverb that can create IRs too

I would want to see this compared against a simple EQ match, to see if you can get close without having to actually buy such an expensive plugin.
@PolarityMusic2 ай бұрын
The magic lies in finding frequencies that remain static, even when music or sounds change the spectrum. It’s probably not that easy.
