Crashed my CB300R last october, ran into a deer at 90kmh... The bike and the deer are dead 🤣 I'm going to buy a Navi next. Had a 2014 Grom when it came out in 2014, sold it to buy a 2017 FZ09... Didn't like the FZ09, found it too much for my needs. I did lost of commuting and also the headlights where terrible. Sold it to buy the CB300R, that one was a fun little bike, reminded me of the Grom but bigger with more power. Love the fact the Navi doesn't have a left brake lever for the rear wheel, they kept it set up like a motorcycle. Easy mechanics, just need to buy an extra carburetor to play around with fueling and seasonal cleaning. They cost little money so why not buy an extra carb 😁. Variator/clutch kits are where you can make a big change for this bike at low cost. Don't plan on doing lots to it other than making it more useful for daily commute. Thanks for the vlog, it's confirming my choice to buy one.

@SpencerDesmarais3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you're not wrong. I'd be happy if it could get up to 55 or 60. I don't have any dreams of taking it on long highway cruises, but when folks are going 55 or 60 on a 45 mph road, I want to be able to keep up. I'm already starting to see some aftermarket parts come out - intakes, jet kits, clutchs/rollers/weights, etc. Just hoping one of the big names comes out with an exhaust and then things will get cooking! The benefit to it being a carb'd bike is that it shouldn't (in theory) be hard to open up the intake, exhaust, and rejet or bump up to a larger carb and get a bit more out of the engine, then follow up with some tuning in the CVT to get the most out of the additional power. There's a formula to it for sure vs. a fuel injected bike where you have to wait and hope someone makes a tune.

I’m so interested in this bike but why can’t it be fuel injected 😩 I would be ok with paying 2k + dealer fee and taxes. instead of the 1.807 and have a fuel injector. Also think it needs a bigger tank I mean really .9 gallons
@SpencerDesmarais3 жыл бұрын
I could go either way on FI vs. Carb. If you go fuel injected, you're adding in an ECM, 02 sensor, throttle body, injectors, harness for it all, etc. Carbs are pretty reliable as long as you don't let gas sit in it for months, they're cheap to produce, cheap to tune, extremely simple wiring for the entire bike. At this price point it makes a ton of sense. We'll see what real world gas mileage is, .9 gallons is what, 100 miles of range? That isn't bad at all for a scooter haha. Throw a gallon rotopax on there and you have more range than most motorcycles out there. Even a 1L MSI bottle will get you another 25 miles, that's insane MPG. No regrets buying it, honestly, if i wanted FI and a bigger tank I could have gone with the more expensive grom. At this price point it's a toy, I think, or a beer or grocery getter. It'll be fun though to see what kind of adventures people get up to with them, they have potential! Thanks for watching! -Spencer

@@SpencerDesmarais YOu know what I was wondering if would be possible to get rid off that storage and install like a 4 gal tank, I'm not a mechanic but I think tank needs to be above the carburetor right? so in this case tank would be below that carb Idk if it's possible to have some kind of special tank or something .
@SpencerDesmarais2 жыл бұрын
@@Voltomess It's a gravity fed carb, so it'd need to be above the carb level. You could do a vacuum pump or small electric pump to feed the aux tank into the main tank. Beyond my skills to fabricate though.

Did you say the bars hit your knees when fully turned? How tall are you?
@SpencerDesmarais3 жыл бұрын
Great question! I'm 6'2", and yeah, when getting close to fully locked, they start to hit my thighs/knee. I'm going to try and rotate the bars slightly forward at some point and see if that helps. I'll also add that lock to lock is a HUGE spread on these, you can really crank the bars over, so even though it touches, I don't think I'd ever in reality turn it that far.
@hillbillywizard753 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying. I have a Navi on order without ever seeing one in person and I’m also 6’2”. I’ve had issues with clearance for my knees on scooters and other small bikes before so I was worried the Navi would be too cramped.
@SpencerDesmarais3 жыл бұрын
@@hillbillywizard75 For what its worth I don't think it's really cramped at all. I was actually surprised it hit my knees, and that was the only time I've had it happen, normal riding around I don't turn the bars that far haha. The footpegs are fairly far forward, compared to a standard motorcycle, so your legs feel like they have a lot of room. Like I said, I'm going to play with the angle of the handlebars and see how much that helps!

That's because everyone wants giant bikes here. Alot of people here don't ride for economical reasons. Some do but more in cities. I prefer smaller bikes. My last bike was a Honda rebel 250. People kinda looked down on it because it was small and wasn't a Harley. India, philippines, Vietnam and China definitely have a wider selection of cool smaller bikes. Cool bikes like royal Enfield are harder to get here. Small bikes have more of an underground following here. And it's picking up.
