Texas is vulnerable to good passing offenses. Both losses last year were to teams that could throw the ball. UGA is more like Bama in this respect where they are not an elite passing offense. This is how Texas beat Bama by 10 at Bama. UGA is not WA 2023 passing the ball, not even close. This is also why they struggled against some lesser foe last season. By the time the Texas UGA game is played, Texas will be favored and will have a better record than UGA. Carson just isn't a guy that can make a living scrambling with this legs and putting up scores. He's a steady QB with TE's, not really a redzone QB. You can reload but it's not the same. It matters who your coach is and so far offensively, UGA in 23 was depth-dependent scoring team. When Carson is rushed, that offense is lucky to put up 25 points..

Bowers didn’t catch for 1000 yards, he will be easily replaceable. Ladd was hurt most of the season. I think this year RB/ WR room is better.

Say what you want but UGA's better team they had in 23 only rushed for 78 yards against Bama and 240 passing. It's not a dynamic offense. I can score points against lesser foe but understand UGA will be playing more non-lesser foe this season than they have played in a regular season in decades. And they never won anything playing Bama in the regular season. Trailed in 7 first half games last season. Down two scores to a horrible SC team. Carson has no legs, didn't even rank in the top 50 SEC rushers when 9 other SEC QB's did. No one says they are a good team but you've never won diddly with Mike Bobo and NIL has leveled the playing field as well as the portal. This would be different if UGA didn't have such weak regular season schedules and they won their titles outside of a national pandemic. The best SEC team might be a 10-2 team moving forward but UGA is going to lose at least two games this regular season. GT and AU were problems for them as well. This schedule does not line up favorably for UGA to be in a SECCG this season and maybe that's a good thing. You go into that game and both teams are 10-2, someone isn't getting into the playoffs depending on how other teams in other conferences are doing.

UGA trailed in 7 games, then most of those games turned into blowouts against good teams (TN, KY, Ole Miss) SC and GT was a matter of motivation, the game was never in doubt. LADD was out most of the season with back problems and Bowers didn’t catch for 1000 yards, both easily replaceable. The WR and RB room is deeper than last year, they have several RB’s that can hit their head on the goal post with a hole, they’re more dynamic. A year under his belt, if Carson improves just a little, the dogs are in good shape. My only question is the defensive backfield, they lost 2 to the NFL and have two 5 stars that is pushing for playing time. It depends on if UGA beats Bama, I think they run the table after that game. The key this year is getting some blowouts to get some backup QB’s in the game for real playing time, if a legit QB steps up, UGA will be loaded for a few years with 2 back to back #1 recruiting classes.

@@geraldos9094 When your elite, you just don't trail in the first half of that many games as they have. UT Martin? Really? SC? Really? And how about GT and AU? They didn't pour it on late. Not at all. When you trail that much, there is an issue or issues and the only thing that saved them was their depth by comparison. When they played better teams than those way way lesser foe, they struggled and lost. How is the WR room deeper than last year? Most of them hardly caught a pass. lol. They lost 3 starts right off the O line. They lost the guys that accounted for most of their offense. We don't know what Bama is going to look like this year. It will either go good or very bad and good we talking 10-2. You can have great recruiting classes but end up being Texas A&M. Your offense, is junk and I say that because against the better teams it looked like trash last year. Carson can't create much with his legs. I think you need a legit passer and a guy that run very well. But you also need the scheme. All your running is short RPO's to lumbering TE's and the run game is subpar for a team looking to build. Your depth is the main thing that you HAD going for you.. Your going to have to be way more dynamic on offense against those better teams and you have quite a few of them on your schedule. 78 yards against Bama. That isn't going to win many games against good teams. The real question is if you come out and struggle against Clemson. Than how does that TN, Texas, Ole Miss, AU game look? There are a few more in there to worry about as well. You could be right but all the signs are there for a very hard season for UGA, given what you lost and given the new faces with very limited experience.
