I just want to apologize for some of the horrible comments I've seen on here. You were the victim and nobody has the right to tell you otherwise. Don't let them shame you, you should be nothing but proud of yourself for your strength and for surviving all that you've gone through. You are truly an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your story. You doing so helps more than you know.🧡

A good man nor a man in general is not the answer to anything. Finding a partner in your life that is there for you, helps you thrive and grow as a person , is a support system that you have never had can help someone beyond belief.

My sisters were abused by my stepbrother. I never found out until 40 years later. My stepmother told my Dad that they were lying. She verbally attacked my younger sister who wound up in the hospital catatonic because of it. My stepmother came to the hospital and yelled at my sister when she came out of her catatonic state and said she was a liar. He was never prosecuted nor did they report it to the police because my Dad didn’t believe them. My stepbrother died at about 50 years old from alcoholism. I didn’t know about it at the time. I wish I had. I was blamed for stealing a valuable antique collection of my stepmother’s. Turns out my stepbrother did it. My Dad went to a pawn shop and they were there. No one apologized to me or even told me they knew who took them. I had a crappy childhood but I’m happier than I’ve ever been. You can be happy, too.

It's not as easy to help someone in an abusive situation and you should forgive the woman because I don't think I would have taken in another child either and here is why... In 2018 a relative and her husband went to another state to rescue his sister and baby niece from an abusive man and brought her to live with them. They could not have known what would happen when that man no longer had access to control her. We buried all 3 of them and the children are being raised by grandparents now while the coward of a man still awaits trial. It isn't always safe to take someone in even though your heart desperately wants to protect them. Your friend's mom had her daughter's life to think about, as well as her own. Please don't judge her too harshly, some abusers will burn down the whole world when someone threatens to remove their control.

Like I said she was my best friends mom of course I forgave her I never held anything against her. I am still good friends with them today unfortunately my best friend passed a few months back. First off I was reached out to share my story to possible save someone or just help them if they’ve gone through similar or are just going through something they can relate my story too. Secondly I stated how great my life is today and not just because of my fiancé and how much he has helped me work through and heal with a lot of my trauma. Who are you to judge me because I’m sharing my story. How would you like to try to have people continue to silent you even as an adult. Being able to open up and share my story here was something I wanted to do for a long time but didn’t have enough courage until I was reached out too and asked to do this interview. But thank you 🙏🏼
