I remember I heard a story similar to this some years back if I’m not mistaken… but in this case, the woman whose husband is a doctor, sexually abused her younger sister and she spoke up and made sure her sister got justice! I remember a lot of people applauded her for standing up for her sister despite being that the perpetrator was her husband!! May God continue to protect us all🤲🙏

A very relatable story, the number of Ladies who had this experience or close to this experience in society is alarming. It’s still happening to younger girls and even children to this day. This is a very significant story line and kudos to those who made this movie. Imagine there was no Aunty mummy… my goodness! Crazy situation. On a lighter note The lady that played the role of joy was excellent. Seen her in a couple of movies and she would always say; “Dey play my fans”… and repetition is a pet peeve for some of us. But she’s excellent!

This happens far too often and the victims rarely get justice. Thank you Mrs. Blessings for shedding light on molestation, rape and abuse. You never truly heal, you just cope, and each victim differs from the next in how they cope . Trauma manifests in so many different ways. There is one thing that I would like us to beware of, and that is saying "love is not enough" - this seems to be quoted in a lot of our movies nowadays; I'm aware that a very respected (now deceased) preacher/pastor gave a sermon with this title however 'GOD IS LOVE' and therefore love IS enough if we operate in true love i.e. AGAPE (unconditional) love. I believe the love the preacher was probably referring to is EROS (erotic form of love). If we truly love others we would not want to hurt them, let alone rape them 🙏

So, can Desperanza commission a script writer to work on a script that deals with the repercussions to the rapist. Loss of job and social standing, being ostracized from the family, especially all females? Registered as a sexual offender and being made to identify and sign at the nearest Sexual Offences agency etc. There should be strigent consequences for any sexual offense!
