@@josefoconnor394 I think that the mysterious part of the erlking is not covered well enough in Schubert's version. Actually, I think that all songs, which were made by both Schubert and Loewe are better made by Loewe (e. g. "Edward" - Loewe; "Altschottische Ballade" - Schubert; Don't ask me why they have different names).

Ma Schubert ha copiato? O Becker si è ispirato troppo a Schubert per completare lo schizzo di Beethoven?
@folkloresxo5 жыл бұрын
@danielescarpetti43983 жыл бұрын

Where did you get the music for this? I'm starting to program for an undergraduate senior recital and would love to get my hands on this, but I can't seem to find it anywhere!
@unheardbeethoven502711 жыл бұрын
Becker's completion of Erlkönig was published by J.Schuberth&Co in 1897, and can usually be found in university music libraries. But to save you the trouble, I can see whether one of my colleagues at the Unheard Beethoven may have the score in .pdf format. If you're interested, do send me your email address.
Beethoven and Schubert both wrote music to the poem, 'Erlkönig'.

Martha Freisinger actually story of Erlkönig is a Dutch Fairy Tail. Both Beethoven and Schubert are German and this was a translation of that poem by Goethe, who mistranslated it to mean "King of the Alder trees" instead of "King of the elves." Several composers try their hand at turning this poem into a small musical piece all of which tend to be so low that means one piano and using four different singing voices
@lionsbru7 жыл бұрын
Not quite - the original character is Danish (not Dutch), and the poem translation you are thinking of was by Johann Gottfried von Herder in his ballad "Erlkönigs Tochter". Goethe later took and adapted the character when writing this independent poem. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erlking#In_German_romantic_literature
@amirmotahari61865 жыл бұрын
well then you don't know either of those, in fact all three of them, because there s another version of Erlkoing written by Carl Loewe ! Also, you don't say a composition is "From" someone u say its "BY" or "written by" someone!
