While I largely agree with you, I also think that the taxpayers kinda need it to come out of the public funds also. Thes towns usually have extremely low voter turnout for elections. All the elected officials including the judges are usually decided by very low vote counts. Sometimes the entire turnout is only a few hundred, or a few thousand if it's a bit larger town. So, maybe after a few lawsuits taken out of the city/town budget they will start getting involved in the process and get off their asses and show up to vote.

No. There is a much more universal explanation from behavioral psychology. It is dominance aggression, a form of superiority. Those who have any government position or government job at all consider themselves to be in power over the general public. So they flex the muscle of authority - same as cops do.

They aren't scared. There is a much more applicable explanation for their behavior. This is dominance aggression, a form of superiority. The term comes from behavioral psychology. Those who have any government position or government job at all consider themselves to be in power over the general public. So they think they own the building and they flex the muscle of authority - same as cops do.

@@ByeByeBS Dominance aggression is a function of fear.
@ByeByeBS8 ай бұрын
@@OldGuy555 No. This depends on how function is defined. Aggression is not caused by fear. The causality does not matter. Even if aggression is caused by fear, the aggression remains. So let's assume that it is. Now, at this point, what difference does it make? The aggression and dominant personality remains.
@OldGuy5558 ай бұрын
@@ByeByeBS You said they are not scared. You said they are aggressive. I informed you that fear is the root of aggression. Intelligent people admit errors. Stupid people refuse to admit errors. Your choice.
@ByeByeBS8 ай бұрын
@@OldGuy555 So, because I disagreed with you, and you stridently insist I am in error, you now IMPLY that I am stupid - which is a veiled insult. Why can't you say forthrightly that you think I AM stupid? Why? Why NOT? *Because you are afraid to do so.* Your fear in response to disagreement turned into a mild form of aggression - but you expressed all this in a passive form. You didn't realize it, but you have just described your own behavior and thus proved a basic psychological principal. This is demonstrated in your own personality, and that is the point I am making. Now let's drop the insult game, assume that your point is valid and that your assessment/diagnosis is correct. How will this offensive behavior (including yours as demonstrated) be changed or remedied? Identifying a problem is one thing. Rectifying it is another.
