@@kamiman448 You mean the empire that pressured itself and other nations to ban slavery? The forefront in banning slavery to the point of going to wars/sanctions to African/eastern empires who couldn't think of any other economies that relied on slavery (due to geography) Pressuring Spain/France to do the same The empire that fought Nazis? The empire that gave a better standard of living compared to the era before colonization? The empire that never made a dime in African colonies? (Actual statistical data showed that 0 colonizers made money in Africa, only that they transplanted its culture/skipped some steps in the technological/infrastructure ladder) And She wasn't a queen for all those. And Monarchy lost its main powers long-before she was queen. It's mostly ceremonial by the time she "ruled" What's soulless/stupid is people forgetting history/believing made up narratives of the past. Forgetting that colonialism/slavery isn't a white/British thing. (It looked that way cuz the West had better technologies/markets INDEPENDENT of their colonies. You can fact-check this further. My source is Thomas Sowell) But freeing slaves/liberating people is exactly why the British/Americans are viewed more better compared to Ottomon/Japanese/Chinese empires. Her father has always shown in everyday clothes/suits instead of royalty This could be propaganda sure, but that's why they were loved by the people back then and now. The Americans colonized my country for almost 50 years. But the side effects (intended or not) - justified conquering parts of mindanao/sulu (part of Philippines) over slavery. Essentially liberating slaves - 99% of our citizens today can speak English hence OFW's saved our country from numerous economic downturns. - promised to return independence after 10 years of guided history (2 election cycles) Do you know the candidates/parties? 1. Emilio Aguinaldo, our actual first president who assassinated his uneducated rival but father of the revolution, and also might've been also the assassination behind his best general over fears of being outshined/uncontrollable general 2. Manuel L. Quezon, american friendly. Eventually winning and saved 2,000 jewish refugees during ww2 3. Some party backed by imperial Japan who wanted independence now. No more 10 years of waiting. Manuel quezon won which meant avoiding a probable dictatorship (unlike some countries) And then pearl harbor happened around 4-6 years later. Asians oppressing other asians I even saw An American war film encouraging its soldiers/masses to liberate Philippines before or at the 10th year. As it is their promise and intended to keep it. Every country has massacres/atrocities, but it was the white guilt/conscience that made them different and outstanding compared to others and our own. My country just voted for a son of a dictator despite the obvious misinformation/lies. I mean if that's the endpoint, what did our heroes die for? Ie, HK probably wouldn't mind colonial rule if said rule meant they could post memes/criticize Britain compared to whatever they have now. I, a Filipino, feel the same. Colonize us all you want. Just protect our fundamental freedoms (and historically. The British/Americans always protected fundamental freedoms over their subjects)

We do know a great deal about her personality - a person cannot be in the spolight for 96 years and leading a country for 70 without revealing almost everything about themself - you just have to open your eyes to see; every person in the public eye has, in one way or another, either shown themselves to be a decent human being or an asshole, with various shades in between. We know Keanu Reeves is a good human being and we know William "Will" Smith is a needy pathetic twat who even after being cuckolded by his wife, is still under her control. Our late Queen has shown in a thousand ways and more, tolerance even in the face of incredible adversity and a wisdom that few heads of state have, or will ever, match. I can't even count the amount of times I was called a "royalist" online while I expressed my condolences and respect for the incredible historical figure that was Queen Elizabeth II. Haters are quite honestly pathetic. A person died, like her or not, she was a patron of over 600 charities, she was on the throne for 70 years. She was the last pillar of stability we had. Your political alignment could be *very* different from hers, yes. *You cannot deny her contribution to human kind and history as a whole though.* Have some respect and let her rip and her family, friends and loved ones mourn. Who raised these people? Edit: oh, the irony of most of the replies proving my point... Our world today is a bleak and divisive one. You either agree with someone completely or you must be an idiot, "royalist", naive etc. No room for any grey areas. It's either black or white. People are unable to see the bigger picture anymore. If you don't agree with them, then you're an fool that's against them.

It's just so awful. My entire family was absolutely devastated when the Queen died, even though we're American, because my Gran grew up in England and that therefore had a big impact on my mom's upbringing with talking about the Royal Family all the time when she was growing up, so there was definitely a lot of crying in my house. I'm happy that my Gran was coincidentally visiting her sisters in England at the time, so they were able to mourn Queen Elizabeth II together. I knew that some crazies were celebrating the Queen's death, and am thankful that out of all of my Leftist friends who I somehow manage to tolerate, only one of them was celebrating. Posts about decolonization and stolen crown jewels and all that... Come on! She wasn't just The Queen of England! She was also a person! A mother, a wife, and grandmother, just like you said. Not just a queen, but a human being who was very much loved by not only the whole world, but also her family. Shame on everyone who is celebrating the death of such an amazing woman! Rest in Peace, Queen Elizabeth II Eternal rest, grant her, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her 🙏😥

How´s this comparable in any way? People who celebrate the queens death don´t celebrate the death of a great mother, they don´t celebrate the death of "mommy lizzy", they celebrate the death of an awful ruler, of "her majesty". If your mom would´ve robbed me and watched silently as my ancestors were tortured and killed, I´d be celebrating her death too, even though she probably was a great mother to you. Like, Hitler loved his dog and was probably the best owner that dog could´ve wished for, but when Hitler died, nobody said "let´s be sad about this, a great dog-owner has passed away", no, people were happy because an awful person passed away. Of course the Queen is not nearly as awful as Hitler, but what she did and more importantly what she stood for, still brought a whole lot of suffering over the world

Sure, in the private we can discuss it when its appropriate, and we should not forget it, as in history, but its kinda hard what to do in terms of public relations. That’s a bit ignorant. The Royal Family have never denied the darker side of British history. Equally, people wilfully forget the positive and the brighter side of British history-its fundamental role in modelling the world today; the freedoms, principles and democratic values we live by and often take for granted. Queen Elizabeth II nor King Charles III have had any involvement in the Empire. Queen Elizabeth II publicly called for decolonisation and was fully in support of the UN Charter resolution in 1947. She has stood for the same values promoting peace and unity her entire life. I think you ought to watch King Charles III speech in Barbados last year when they chose to become a republic. By all means, have your opinion, but at least make it an educated one. Queen Elizabeth II has been a force for peace, tolerance and unity her entire life. She’s the reason Germany and Great Britain were able to reconcile post-war; she committed herself to turning political enemies into allies, through foreign policy not driven by politics. Loved by all on the political compass, a symbolic head of state politically unaligned.

@@Zrs3820 Go read the actual history. You've been fed a pack of lies. Churchill did everything in his power to prevent the famine, begging Roosevelt to lend ships so he could ship grain from Australia to India. Roosevelt, unfortunately, could not spare the ships. Most of the causes of the famine were to do with native mismanagement, and the fact that the Japanese were bearing down on India. Indeed, previously India has relied on rice imports from Burma. When the Japanese captured Burma, the rice imports stopped. That's the primary cause of the famine. There was also a cyclone in the region. Churchill actually broke the famine by appointing as Viceroy Field Marshal Wavell, who mobilized the military to transport food and aid to the stricken regions (something that hadn’t occurred to anyone, apparently). No serious historian who has examined the primary documents could conclude Churchill wished for the Indians to starve. Hence why Nehru considered Churchill a dear friend of India following decolonisation.

I'm an American and I never realized how much I miss Elizabeth now that she's gone. We live in an age where we can't tell people to have responsible sex, save for your own retirement, pay your own health care, accept the reality of your biological sex, not kill unborn babies, not go to gay orgies during a monkeypox pandemic etc. and yet this woman and her husband were living proof that people are (gasp!) actually capable of doing the things they're expected to do, even when they conflict with personal desires or emotions. I think one of the reasons leftists are celebrating Elizabeth's death is that deep down, they know there exist people like her with real virtue and real morals that speak for themselves and don't need to be constantly trumpeted in faux social causes. Simply by existing, she reminded them of their own personal failings.

Irish person here! Love your videos Brett and 100% agree with you… Not sure if many if you would know much of our history but I’m sure some of you may have seen the “Irish Twitter” and their celebrations blaming her for The Troubles and other things that happened even years before her reign which is absolutely appalling! What’s worse is that is seems like half these gobshites weren’t even born until after The Troubles so they didn’t even experience any of it. They also blame her for losing our language, yet they make no effort themselves to actually learn the language themselves! I can assure you that is not the majority view of the real Irish. Most of the Irish I know, who have lived through The Troubles have some respect for the Queen. My parents and grandparents obviously were around for it also liked The Queen. She even came to Ireland in 2011 as a way of bridging the peace between Ireland and the UK, paid respects to those who had fallen over our past history and even spoke our native language. That was a moment of history in itself and while some people had their reservations, a lot of the Irish gave her a very warm welcome and appreciated her efforts While I am no fan of The Royal Family or The Monarch myself and I don’t stand for some of the stuff they did based on what I have read in the past, I am still able to separate the Lady from the institution and show some respect so I offer my condolences to all the people of the UK and May Queen Elizabeth II rest in peace.

Queen Elizabeth was a symbol of British culture for me and I remember that her picture was always in all kinds of English student books that I used to have so now I have only positive associations with her. I understand that many countries suffered a lot from colonialism but these people who blame her for all British crimes do not have anything to do with that colonial era. Furthermore, the Queen reigned when the monarchy basically did not function in the UK anymore. So, what do they want? Do they want British people just reject her and not care about her death? But she is an important part of British history, and it would not be possible. I find their behavior really disgusting. Maybe, they should learn about politeness and respect from the Queen a bit, she was an example of a great human being at least.

I love how everyone forgets the monarchy is just a figure head since 1649 and has not actually been ruling the country since it became a democracy that year. If they want to blame people they must blame the parliament of that time of colonisation for the wrongs they committed. During my country’s road to freedom ( South Africa) the royal family came for a tour and this lovely woman ( God rest her soul) was so prohibited from supporting the freedom fighters that she had to make secret signals to not only show her support but also pass on messages. It’s heartbreaking that people my age and younger were never taught this in school and now slander her. They even are reporting she “stole” a diamond before she was bloody born?! In his book “War Doctor”, Dr David Nott recalls being invited to a royal event just after coming back from working as a volunteer civilian doctor in an active war zone. The Queen asked him about how it had been, and he immediately began to panic and fall apart. Seeing what was happening, she called one of her staff over and whispered something in his ear, and he reappered with a small box. The Queen sat the doctor down, called her Corgis over and handed him what turned out to be a box containing dog treats. She remarked something along the lines of that sometimes it was nicer than talking. Dr Nott said it was a remarkable act of compassion and understanding from one survivor of war, to another.

She could´ve condemned the british wars against independence movements, she could´ve given back all of the royals family stolen wealth, she could´ve stopped to freeload on millions of taxpayer money every year (paid by taxpayers who couldn´t vote for or against her), she could´ve shown some decency when Diana died, she could´ve thrown andrew out of her house, If she would´ve done any of that, maybe I would respect her. I remember a feud between two people online. It ended when one of them got cancer and died. The other guy, who was crass in the extreme and a first rate internet troll, at least had the decency to post a simple "R.I.P."

As an English person, I can solidly say I was absolutely devastated when I heard she died. We were preparing dinner and listening to music on our Google mini and the music got stopped by a public broadcast to tell us she had died. It was like something out of the movie in that the whole of the country watching TV or listening to music or radio was told at the same time in a national broadcast. It was awful and I mourn her loss deeply.

Agreed! As an American, it was so sad to hear of her passing and it was so frustrating to hear all the disrespectful and gross comments that people were making about her death

The Queen reigns but does not rule. The Government rules but does not reign. Blaming the queen for all the awful things that the British Empire did, is dumping all the blame and guilt on a woman who did not make any of the decisions. The Queen's job is to literally be the instrument of stability and unity for her people. This has been the case for the UK and the empire for hundreds of years. She will be missed. Her dedication to her duty was inspiring.

The tweet regarding republicans means something different over here in the UK. ‘Republicans’ are those who wish to abolish the monarchy. Love your content! Keep up the good work!!!

As an Englishmen, Im disgusted by the view, the Washington post and all of the other dumb people who are disrespecting the Queen and in turn England. The Great British Empire was the greatest thing that happened to the world, the US was created through that empire and went on to become the greatest country the world have ever seen. Her death should make us all celebrate the good of the west and think about how important tradition is. The United Kingdom is mourning her death and we’re hurting right now, I’m very happy that majority of westerners are joining in the mourning of the death of her majesty and Im thankful for the Majority of normal people being respectful. Let’s all take this moment to double down on looking at how we should act and behave to each other, living through Christ and living a life of service to others with love and respect. She was an example to us all.
