As a formal hotel housekeeper we were always aloud to take perishable items after checkout so that cheese was eaten. It happened so often when I signed up for the job the manager had listed it as one of the perks when she talked about the job. Lost and found is kept for thirty days but not thrown out. It's usually divvied up amongst the staff. You find some really cool as well as super weird things sometimes. My current Christmas tree I use every year came from a motel room.

Talking about being over or under dressed for a wedding, I went to one with a button down shirt, tie, and a suit jacket, where some people said I was over dressed since I wasn't in the wedding party. Apparently in rural Nebraska, the play is button down shirt and good pair of jeans.

This is the most bizarre episode, I was like, why does it feel like everyone is secretly upset, not really at each other, but sort of a little bit at each other. Like getting increasingly annoyed with someone you really like as a person and you know why they’re acting annoying and you understand, but it’s still slowly driving you up the wall. It’s especially weird since the last few episodes have been so relaxed and fun and enjoyably chaotic. Realizing when this was recorded makes that make a LOT more sense…I’m guessing that sponsorship deals meant they had to put this out because otherwise, this is probably one that would have been better pushed to the “never released” pile.

49:00 Charcuterie season is late Fall-Winter because animals are usually culled (slaughtered) and processed in Fall, otherwise you have to provide winter forage/feed for animals you want to remove from the herd and won't go up in value over winter. The Spring and Summer is when you harvest the majority of milk, so aged cheeses are starting to ripen and fresh cheeses are still being produced. Fall fruits / nuts are common on Charcuterie boards: apples, pears, grapes, almonds, walnuts, etc. Other additions are usually preserved foods from other seasons or regions: jams, dried fruits, marinated olives, etc.
