Hey :) I’m a year 12 student hoping to study Optom! You said in your Optom Q&A video that you highly recommend doing wider reading - do you have any specific books, articles, websites, podcasts, etc. that you’d recommend? I really want to do some but it’s so tricky to find access to books about optometry, I’m struggling a bit!

Hi I'm currently in year 13 and hoping to study optometry very soon. I'm currently listening to a Podcast called Eye Give A Damn, I personally found it really helpful and inspiring

Yes I know a few popular websites such as Optometry Today, College of Optometrists. You only need a few pieces to show your interest!

Hi:) I am going to start optometry this Sep. But I am bit confused that what should I buy Macbook or Ipad with magic keyboard and pen. Which one is more useful for optometry student according to you ?

Ooh that’s exciting! Most people have a iPad and laptop instead of an ipad alone, I use my laptop at home and iPad at uni because it’s lighter. There are people who use their MacBook only but a lot of note taking and drawing is needed for optom so if you prefer handwritten physical notes you don’t need an iPad. I use an iPad because I like all of my notes in one rather than in books to carry to uni. It’s really personal preference never feel pressured to purchase an iPad just because everyone else has one. iPad or laptop either way you can still do well in uni! Hope this helps!
