I have the 139E, basically the same meter with a different display. Have owned for over a year, never let me down. Accidentally left it in ohms on mains at some point, no problems, nothing broke.

I thought I’d commented on this video, it looks like I said a word Google doesn’t like. Mine is much brighter than yours and did come with an English manual. I prefer my 139s over my 61e+ which doesn’t doesn’t even have temperature. I would definitely recommend the 139s over the 61e+, it even looks better and there’s only about £5 between them.

I have a 139C and like it a lot. It won't replace my Flukes, but I got it for 20.00 inc freight. Deal of the week.

I have the original version of 139C and it's my favorite. I've seen some snobs dis it for various reasons... mainly because it was damaged after they abused it. I couldn't disagree with them more. It's an awesome meter.

`Uni T makes the best cheap meters yet. That one beats the heck out of that last meter reviewed. 😁 Good luck with the surgery, I know you are probably a little nervous out it. I'm sure all will be well in the next few days. Thanks for taking the time to post these videos while in such pain!

I think everybody is going to be comparing this to the UT61E and unfortunately 6000 Counts just doesn't cut it. A set of probemaster probes would fix the continuity speed without a doubt, probably the best probes in existence.

As always very interesting. I personally was very dissapointed about the UT-71D and cannot imagine ever to buy a UNI-T device again... Best wishes for friday.

The 10A to COM PCB copper width was 4~5 mm, ok. But there is a plastic screw insert right in the middle of it, leaving a very small path in each side!!! I don't get it, why bother using a large PCB trace if you freak it up right in the midle? I have a 139C, but still don't trust UNI-T with mains voltages. Looking for good value/secure alternatives.

I heard you mention in another video that you like gold plated probes, got any suggestions on a set of probes you would recommend? I've got a couple of UNI-T meters as my daily drivers but the struggle is real when it comes to check continuity and getting good probe measurements

Thanks for the great review, it was one of the reasons for me to choose this multimeter. You checked the impedance at loZ and and at normal V, can I ask, if you are still keeping this multimeter, can you tell me what readings dou you get on dc mv and on ac mv when you check the impedance. Mines readings are about 6Mohms at dc mv and about 4.4Mohms at ac mv, so I was wondering if it is normal? Especially for the ac mv :)

The trouble it had at the lowest resistance and capacitance range troubles me. It may make a nice automotive repair meter but I am not confident that it would be a great meter for a new hobbiest. But it might be fun to try to modify and it looks like you could change the firmware which may solve the issues it has. It definitely looks well built and safe to use. Great review Paul and good luck on Friday, I’ll be thinking of you man.

I have the exact same meter with a normal display UT139E. It seems like the low range issue he had was due to the shitty test leads. The meter functions fine for me.

The uni-t 139A which is the basic has similar readings on voltages, better at low values on resistance ( its 2000 count meter ) but it came with crappy bad smelling leads aka even worse than this meter, and the screw on the battery compartiment is long, but has 2xAA batteries so you don't need to open that offen.

Pretty interesting meter, dude. 😊 Great luck Friday! Everything is going to work fine! 😊

I do like uni-t kit, still plasticky .... but nicer placky than some - there's also a little give so while you can't drop it far, it doesn't disintegrate on impact. My leads came with a specially thick and totally insulating coating of factorium slime - I had to clean all the connectors and points with alcohol (surprisingly the case didn't dissolve). Now they don't do too badly. Mine is 210e with the contactless current clamp, but still as you say no real worries when testing domestic mains, which these days is as high as I go. I have a snazzy pacemaker installed and higher volts could theoretically trigger the ICD which isn't fun!! Like the Uni-T it's pocket sized and follows me everywhere (although I hope uni-t didn't build mine!!!). I've been visiting medics all week myself - so missed yours until today which is after the fact. Presumably you know how it went - so hope things are optimistic. I'm guessing the worst news would be being told you had to give up on oscilloscopes :D Stay safe ...

Nice meter, can see why you like it, but at that price it should be good. But I'm not into the reverse display idea, don't see the reason (use) for it. Best of luck with your surgery, and a good recovery.

Totally agree, backlight being always on drains battery like crazy. And it doesn't really offer much other than looking different from most multimeter displays.

A UNI-T your main meter, I’m surprised would of thought you have a FLUKE or some other high quality meter. Not that I’m saying UNI-T is a bad meter as I use them as I don’t have a lot of money to afford one of the higher accuracy meters just surprised with all the stuff you have you picked UNI-T

Interesting. It seems like it's aimed at A/C techs. But why make a meter for them that has a screen that's probably unreadable in direct sunlight? Show me that same meter, with bluetooth or data logging, but with a regular LCD, price it under $100 and I'd probably order one right now...or as soon as I saw your review.
