I have and would recommend the FUEL EX 8 XT 2021. Aluminum frame with Top notch components. Weight difference is unnoticeable.

As a fuel owner i can confirm that this is a pretty accurate overview. One thing I realise after testing both the new GT sensor and YT Jeffsy is that both these bikes had a problem with my left foot touching the rear stay whereas it never happened once with my Fuel. The Fuel is awesome fun though, quick and nimble going down trails and transfers the full trail through the bike with none of that dead feeling on many newer bikes. The fuel can really get seriously poppy off the smallest of jumps and somehow that rear shock manages to shake off big bottom out incredibly well. Lastly they are very quiet on the trail versus many other brands.

Funny thing is that i actually rode this exact bike at 12gobiking. I work there and this demo bike had been send to us, really pretty bike. I ordered the Fuel ex 9.9 2021 xo1 partly because of this review so i felt like thanking you for that!

Now that you’ve tried both the Top Fuel and the Fuel EX could you provide any insight or opinion on choosing between the two?

I found the top fuel to stand out more. Both are great bikes, just depends on what you need.. One does fun xc, the other is a real trail bike

Liked the review, For me though, this bike was a racing machine which ended with the release of the 2015 model. I still own my 2014 29'er Fuel alloy in gun metal grey and I can honestly say that 2015 + year models don't have the same maneuverability, stiffness and agility as the 2014 model. Perharps because 2014 was the last year in which they were "Made in USA" :) or not :)):)) A few years later, wanting to upgrade I went for the 2017 29'er BMC Speedfox, which I can say has the same nimbleness as the Fuel, I feel no difference when switching from one to another.

Im in the market for a new bike im debating between the tallboy and trek fuel ex 8, i see the fuel ex has better components on the drive traing for the same price and im talking about the alloy edition on both bikes if it was you what would you choose based on your professional experience, please advise

I haven't ridden the Al version of either, but I'd go with the better specs. SC seems to be seriously overpriced...

Hi mate ! Were you really riding a size Large with your 1m84 height ? It looks like you were pretty cramped while pedalling on flat terrain or even climbing :) I'm 1m86 and I'm torn between a size Large and XLarge. Any feedback from you would be welcomed :)

Hi man , would you choose this over your locum for general mtb/ mtb bike packing? I am conflicted between the two
@UnicornBikes3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I own neither of these bikes. If you cant to do long rides, maybe the Locum would be better as it's easier to mount a rack to the hardtail

Very good corona times review! 13 kg is good? I thought the 2.6 tires is the reason theyre so heavy. And bikes have become so expensive theses days. You can either buy a good used car, or a bike.
