Looks like you brought this one back from the dead, 😎 Older radios are a lot better than some, most of the new crap they make these days. Give me an 80s radio any day. EDIT: Typo

I agree they made them to last and be serviced back in the 80's now days it's all disposable items...

When I replaced the light in an HR 2600, I stood an L.E.D. with the top of the bulb facing down to avoid the spotlight effect ! And using the light from the side of the L.E.D. , to illuminate the display worked well !

Thanks that is a good idea.

@@TheElectronMan You're welcome ! I wrestled with that issue like most, until after many adjustments, I came up with that ! I think it may take advantage of the white plastic holder, as maybe some of the light from the L.E.D. is reflected upward ? Never thought about wiring Two L.E.D.'s together ! That and pointing them down, may work even better ! Now you have me rethinking my work Lol....! Thanks ! (((💡))) 👍😉

How do I convert it to 11mrts band
@TheElectronMan8 ай бұрын
It takes a little bit of work you have to lift up the main board and on the main control IC you have to cut a couple traces and hook those up with a 10k resistor to resistor pack next to it. On some of the later models, they have some gray epoxy over that area that you have to heat and get off to access those traces.

Who in their right mind would ruin a Great Radio (HR2510) with a flipping Echo Board. Those things need to stay on Ch 19. They sound like crap.
@TheElectronMan7 ай бұрын
It was a trucker’s radio, and they do love their echoes. However, this radio was too nice to be turned into a scatterbox. It was a real mess, heavily modified for an echo box and completely hacked up. At least I managed to get it working again.

Wouldn't it be nice if CB'ers would just buy a nice radio, talk on it, and leave it alone. You need more power buy a decent small amp, one that is reliable and clean, get a better antenna, put it a little higher, and DON'T take it to the local magic doctor for a super tune and modifications. If I could get $10 for every radio messed up by some idiot, I could afford to buy some very nice radios instead of my 1970's junk. Just kidding, I like my old junk and home brewed amp just fine and wouldn't trade it for any of the new junk. Good video...

So true as for those echo boxes and noise toys buy an external one if you are into that don't butcher a good radio up.
