If you want a system that is simply plug and play with minimal setup that works out of the box, but is far less customizable, you go with Apple (Ubiquiti). High megapixel are not always the best camera for a given situation, so you do need to compare. So many people get caught in the megapixel trap rather than getting the correct camera for the job. Even some MSP's and Security Installers get caught in the megapixel trap. A big example is night vision. The pixel to sensor size ration becomes a big thing when considering night vision. OFten a lower MP camera will do better in low light situations. A bigger sensor with lower megapixels will give a better image in low light.

I install UniFi networks as my go to networking and WiFi gear and Hikvision for cctv. If you’re installing for a company that has sensitive stuff that you think the Chinese might be interested in then they will tell you, other than that the security risk isn’t an issue for most customers. I reset a DVR I can have it setup and running with all Grids setup within 1/3 the time it would take me to just Reset a NVR and have to make all Adjustments to the Cameras passwords. If I needed to Reset a 16ch NVR and 16 IP cameras as well it would take 1/16th the time to Reset a DVR and setup Motion.. Or Even IVS on my AI DVR.. Also I have a DVR that I can connect over 2000 feet from my camera can't do that with a NVR without having extra hardware in the setup... Buy Dahua or Dahua OEM like Amcrest. There is so much better options, Night color is awesome, Multi type record setup at the same time. multi type view setup.. Hard to say anything bad about Amcrest. I am sorry Hikvision OEM support is JUNK.. They don't support the end users like Northern Video will tell you to contact your Installer. They don't sale to End users.. Annke does try and help even End users but Products are JUNK and they deny being a Hikvision OEM provider when people are smarter then they are and know better. (They don't even buy their own Mac Addresses like Amcrest does) Yeah Dahua and Hikvision is on Ban list for GOV that is because of some bad issues that are not really as bad as the Orange man has made it out to be lol.. I have 3 Northern DVR's first one back in 2010, then new one 2012 or 13 and the last was in 2016 it was not until an issue in 2018 that I was really unhappy with them and that was when I needed Support. Being told by some one that Calles them self a Specialist that a product I owned couldn't do what I wanted it to do and they don't support it anymore because it was EOL and none in the building to test out What a JOKE.. Annke bought some 5mp recorders to cure my issue of needing TVI for 5mp cameras to get a recorder that don't have RS-485, Chrome didn't work, and Support was little better but change 40+ to return product bought from them to replace it F that.. Again my Recorders and cameras from Amcrest/Dahua can Record multi type events at same time scheduled. Fulltime, Motion, Alarm, MD/Alarm, and even IVS.. Support is good even if and when it is bad.. POE NVR poe camera connect and it up on screen just that fast.. 2018 DVR 16ch 8mp has ability to be 24ch with 8ch IP out of the box.. I have it setup as 6 BNC and 18 IP and works great.. That is only 1 of many but is one of the best for ability it offers 7108-AI and 4216E-AI are the next best I own, With 4116e-HS and others with in that line..

One is a Chinese brand, and one is Amelican brand. Both countries are competitors, but when a govt has to step into every category of the business to declare a national security risk on well known Chinese brands while the US govt is the biggest security risk on this planet, I think everyone has a brain can figure out the correct answer.

Hikvision is only banned in your country. Explore the whole range you will be surprised. But clearly you are biased here.

If you say that UBNT wins against Hikvision, you either have no clue on security or getting paid :)

Any one with a bit more CCTV knowledge will always pick Hikvision over Ubiquity. To me Ubiquity cameras look like plastic toys and not CCTV cameras
